This was sent to me by my Mom this morning, Thought it was pretty cool and wanted to share.

    Hi Bob,
Been thinking a lot about you out on the road in this unbelievable weather. Cudos to you for your response to those whinning about not being able to make it.You wouldn't have won if you cancelled. I remembered this morning while I was excercising and listening to Mr. Cash on my Ipod about the time Dad and I went to see George Jones and Tammy Wynette at Meadowbrook. It was late Sept. and in the 20s. We went in our hats, gloves and warm coats. The warm up act played, then Tammy and then the warm up act again. About 10pm people started to leave and as they did we kept moving up closer-never even thinking about going home (although we probably should have, because who knows what was going on there.) No show Jones finally came on about 11pm and by then we were about 3 rows back and saw one hell of a show. We went home raving about the show and always had something to talk about when George Jones was in the news. We still are fans to this day. At least he showed up-probably drunk and all. And as far as refunding the money-that's over and above the call of duty, but that shows your character and that is something I'm so proud of. Looking forward to seeing you In March.

    Love, Mom

....... And George played until 1am and Meadowbrook shut the lights down!!!!

Thanks Bob for the sharing. Your mom rocks. I am a grandmother and I am 64 years old. I have had a blast at your concerts and on your cruise. Your mom has raised a very truthful, loving, and humble son. A Simple Man. You should be the entertainer of the century, because I've not seen a better entertainer in years, like the sixties. You keep on Rocking and as long as I can get myself to your concerts, I will be right there. Loving every minute of it and you too, SEXY!!!!!!!!!!! See you in Birmingham.

Kid Rock, Thank you for playing Little Rock during the snow storm. I would have whinned if you had not played. You are like the post office. You deliver in rain, sleet or snow! Thanks again for an awesome show. I loved it. Donald Bearden, Jonesboro, Arkansas

What a cute mom you have. Enjoyed the story of her time at a great concert. She sounds like she and your dad know how to party.

You've got one great mom! I hope my teenage son and I continue on the same path relationship wise as you seem to have with your mom .... Saw you last night in Louisville with my husband. Funny my son just doesn't want to believe his dad that I sang and yelled right along with you, swearing and all, and had a blast .. will have to take him to one of your concerts to show him that just because I'm almost 40 I still know how to have a great time! Would love to see you have more concerts in Michigan this summer so we can take the kids back "home" to see you. Travel safe!

Have a great show in Greenville tonight. You are missing some cold ass weather here in Michigan. Stay safe.....M.

Had you canceled you would have been bombarded with emails saying how they risked their lives coming out to see you and then you canceled. Just as you said damned if you do damned if you don't. My opinion (for what it's worth) Is that you should be repected for your determination to do what ever it takes for the fans because you know that the fans make the star. Don't let a few whiners get you down keep on keepin on like you always have.

AW.. she is so cool. I had a similar experience a few years back. "Goose Creek Symphony" gave an outdoor concert on the fairgrounds in Wise, VA. which is about 70 miles from home. It was early spring, weather had been nice but turned bitter cold day before and day of show. The show went on and so did my friends and I. The trip back was a bit treacherous but it was one of the best times of my life. By the way, are you familiar with GSS? Their style is a blend of country, bluegrass, and a little southern rock. Check em out. Shows are a lot of fun

gotta love momma!! I drove 3 hours in the snow and ice to see that show and it was well worth it you raised a fine man!!! Thank you Kid and thank you Momma Rock

No one wanted him to cancel, it was just devastating to think you had to miss it bc of an unusual storm like that! With money being tight these days, you hate to miss something you looked forward to so badly. The refunds are awesome since the arena wasn't cooperating! That was my 3rd time to see him, and I have raved to anyone who will listen every time I've been. Mothers have lasting effects on their son's character! We will be there next time too!

Thanks Valerie! I do love the kid, tons. It is nice to be appreciated.

@ Julie, you're not *just* a special education teacher, you're an angel sent from heaven!! As a parent with a daughter with a learning disability, you are the parents' salvation! I sub in F'muth for my friend who is a special ed. teacher. If you want to see the face of God, look into one of those kids' eyes. Yes being a good person is something everyone can take a few lessons in. KR certainly shows that! It takes a lot of courage to do the right thing. One of my profs told me, 'If you do the right thing for the right reason, everything will always work out fine'.

Just as I commented to you the other day - it's like the old days, when the performer shows up to play, the show is on, if you can't make it it's your own loss. PLEASE ignore what anyone says or thinks it's not your responcibility to refund ANYONE their ticket price. The only differance between now & than is the internet & if it were 20yrs ago you wouldn't here any of this BS - you have an enormous fan club, true fans & your mom that all back you 100% on this, that's all you need Bob! Rock On - You & your beautiful Mom!
Julie_28's picture

I am so impressed with you the more I learn about you! I am just a special education teacher at Eppler Jr. High in Utica schools. My students have all kinds of challanges from mild learning problems to severe mental impairments. School is not always the most important thing to them but being a good person is. Sometimes those lessons are the more important ones. I talk A LOT about you to them and all of the wonderful things that you do to help others. I even have one student doing a research paper on how you have effected our socieity in a positive way. I try to teach them "The least we can do is CARE". Keep up the good work!

It means everything ! You are one awesome guy ! I will be 70 next month, and as I sit here writing this I am wearing a KID ROCK t-shirt :) Love your music, the Born Free album is AWESOME ! Keep up the good work, your music feeds the soul !

Phyllis_3's picture

Moms are the best! Refunding their money when it says right on the ticket NO REFUND is way beyond the call of duty!!!! They (the fans) should have allowed enough time for the bad weather, todays radar you know way in advance, no excuses, the band made it! For God Sakes!!!!!
