    Momma Rock Responds!

This was sent to me by my Mom this morning, Thought it was pretty cool and wanted to share.

    Hi Bob,
Been thinking a lot about you out on the road in this unbelievable weather. Cudos to you for your response to those whinning about not being able to make it.You wouldn't have won if you cancelled. I remembered this morning while I was excercising and listening to Mr. Cash on my Ipod about the time Dad and I went to see George Jones and Tammy Wynette at Meadowbrook. It was late Sept. and in the 20s. We went in our hats, gloves and warm coats. The warm up act played, then Tammy and then the warm up act again. About 10pm people started to leave and as they did we kept moving up closer-never even thinking about going home (although we probably should have, because who knows what was going on there.) No show Jones finally came on about 11pm and by then we were about 3 rows back and saw one hell of a show. We went home raving about the show and always had something to talk about when George Jones was in the news. We still are fans to this day. At least he showed up-probably drunk and all. And as far as refunding the money-that's over and above the call of duty, but that shows your character and that is something I'm so proud of. Looking forward to seeing you In March.

    Love, Mom

....... And George played until 1am and Meadowbrook shut the lights down!!!!

Hell, I had my Mom in my truck with me a few weeks ago listening to Kid Rock for a couple of hours while we were driving back and forth from the casino.....and do you want to know what her only complaint was? It was that she couldn't get up and dance because she was in my truck! I just loved it when she made that comment about Kid Rock's music....and by the way, my Mom is 82 years young!!! :)) Linda (aka) BadKittyRoxx

I have to say that I have never, ever posted anything on a comment board or wall before but reading what you just posted from your mom was so cool! Being away from MI for over eighteen years I now apprieciate Michigan (and Detroit) more than I ever had when I was growing up there. I've been to your show several times over the years...Biloxi, Vegas, Jackson and of course Detroit (several times in each city). You Rock! Love that you keep it real and are a huge influence and still believe in Detroit.

Well said Mamma Rock. You have a lot to be proud of. He does have great character but I think you and Big Daddy had something to do with that. Thanks for giving us the American Badass!!!

Hats off to you for offering a refund....... like your mom said it desplays your character, because you really didn't have to do that, your just simply CLASSY and that is why i LOVE ya!!!!! I just want to say Thank you for playing in Little Rock. I flew in from Las Vegas to see your show. I am originally from Michigan, and have seen you twice there. I am active duty military and stationed in LV now so getting home to Michigan is sometimes hard to do. My brother lives in Little Rock and we were going to your show regardless of a little bit of snow. Your performance was awesome and I can't wait to see you again. I also want to say, I appreciate all of your kind words about the military and our families. In tough times it is great to hear. Thanks again for your great music and an awesome show. Angie

Our Mom's will always have our backs, no matter what!! For my 35th birthday I flew to Detroit (where I was born & raised!!) from sunny AZ for your 40th Birthday Bash! My Mom & I knew what to expect (weather wise in Michigan in January) but knew, no matter what, we would be at the show! If we had to leave hours early to get downtown from Clinton Township (where we were staying with family) we would have done it! We had a fabulous time at the concert and we didn't complain once when we walked back to our hotel on Jefferson from Ford Field. =) Thank you Bob for all that you do for your fans, the troops & the various charities that you suport! Hopefully you will come to AZ sometime soon & I will be able to see you again!!!

wow, your mom sounds like a trooper for her idols when it comes to goin to a concert.. I myself when ever I go to a concert take a risk, because i gerneally ALWAYS have to fly into another state. But THATS my choice, no matter what weather is. to me its my responsibility to make decisions and accept what may or may not happen due to weather conditions anywhere in the US.. , I went to a BRET MICHAELS concert in illinois where I used to live. we had very bad weather, well bret decided he was going to FLY in instead of takin his bus. his whole crew and band was there waiting on him ..there was a lot of people bitchen because bret was so late and the concert didnt start untill after 11 30 and bret played i believe maybe 30-45 min MAX very short concert. everyone was bitchen about the length... ME ? I was just happy he made it there ALIVE and was gratefull i was able to see him perform the short time he did..... I appreciate he made it and peformed in the first place..... nancy

Moms are great at putting things in perspective and reminding us of what is important and that many times our gut instincts are correct.
