    Momma Rock Responds!

This was sent to me by my Mom this morning, Thought it was pretty cool and wanted to share.

    Hi Bob,
Been thinking a lot about you out on the road in this unbelievable weather. Cudos to you for your response to those whinning about not being able to make it.You wouldn't have won if you cancelled. I remembered this morning while I was excercising and listening to Mr. Cash on my Ipod about the time Dad and I went to see George Jones and Tammy Wynette at Meadowbrook. It was late Sept. and in the 20s. We went in our hats, gloves and warm coats. The warm up act played, then Tammy and then the warm up act again. About 10pm people started to leave and as they did we kept moving up closer-never even thinking about going home (although we probably should have, because who knows what was going on there.) No show Jones finally came on about 11pm and by then we were about 3 rows back and saw one hell of a show. We went home raving about the show and always had something to talk about when George Jones was in the news. We still are fans to this day. At least he showed up-probably drunk and all. And as far as refunding the money-that's over and above the call of duty, but that shows your character and that is something I'm so proud of. Looking forward to seeing you In March.

    Love, Mom

....... And George played until 1am and Meadowbrook shut the lights down!!!!

That is such a good story and she is right, you already go above and beyond what is necessary. She sounds very proud of you, as she should be. Be safe in your travels. Sue

Great response from your Momma and that story about their concert experience in bad weather says it all! While you have some people that will bitch no matter what, I'm positive that those that came had a hell of time and while it can be stressful traveling in the winter it definite makes for some good stories after that fact! Look at your Mom still sharing her story. Saw you in Dayton and for I have to say, for those that didn't make the trip you missed one hell of a great concert!!! Keep doing what you're doing and let the haters be haters... F'em!

I love Momma Rock! She's got her sons back as a Momma should! I also saw No Show Jones years ago (he was sober then) as my Mom was a huge fan and we got first row tickets and what a GREAT show it was! I'm with your Mom Bob on this one....refunding tickets is over and above the call of duty! We all take chances when buying tickets to anything in the winter! Hell, I live in Ontario Canada and was afraid it was going to be blizzarding for your Birthday Bash and I was gonna get there no matter what! It was a little bit of a snowy drive but we made it and had the time of our life! Keep on Rockin Bob and don't let a few Wuss Asses get you down!

So nice that you have a strong family. Family values are what make you what your are, sounds like your son is in good hands if he is hanging with mom

Loved the letter and thanks for sharing. That sounds like something my mother would do. After my mother watched your interview with Larry King, she called me and said she had found the perfect man for me. It was after that interview that she also became a fan. Looking foward to seeing you Monday evening in Pcola! It will be in the 70's next week so don't worry about the cold here! (we also have a great weekend forecast) Take care and see ya soon!!! :)

i would walk through a hurricane to see you rock out! I saw you in Detroit for your bday concert - which i will never forget - thanks for one of the most memorable nights ever. my little girls wanted to see taylor swift - also playing at the palace. i went on to buy the tickets and i refused. Here are the facts PEOPLE. the same venue - i had much better seats for Kid Rock then what was being offered for tay swift but the prices for her concert were almost double what i paid for Kid Rock - Kid Rock is NOT A greedy performer - take a look around at the other performers prices and you will see that he is fair and tries to please everyone - NOT GREEDY>

Mom/Dad knows best! It's those nights a fan will never forget! Coming from Michigan to see ya in Orlando in a few weeks! My daughter is so jealous, she just loves you...but I can't bring her to the concert though cause she is only 4! So if you want to set up a character breakfast with her in Orlando, she would love it so much more than Minnie Mouse or Donald Duck!

What a cool Mom :) I still say it was a damned if you do and a damned if you don't situation. I mean you are the KID but pretty sure you have no control over the weather . Hope to see you in concert myself one day . Keep doin what you do and the right ones will follow and the rest will just fall off ;) Peace Brotha

That is awesome. My biggest fan is my Mom. She is 65 and I take her to all the shows. We just went and saw Slash with Myles Kennedy and what a great show! Now if you would get your ass back to Utah she would get to see you :) You are a total dream to me and can't seem to find anyone on the same level as me, but you are there. Totally out of reach, but what do you do.... Come west baby.... please :) if not for me do it for those old gals that want to see you before they go on ;)

Thanks for sharing. I knew when I bought my tickets to a show in Little Rock in Dec. for Feb.....there might be a chance the weather might be a problem. But, me and a friend Sarah drove it by ourselves(left our husbands at home hiding behind thier boats) 5 hours from Oklahoma. Even if we pussed out and didnt make it I wouldnt expect a refund...Thats part of buying tickets in the winter dipshits...you never know. Thank God our boats are fine!!! Thanks agian Kid...best show ever!

Now we know where you got your good sense from :). Way to go MommaRock, I KNOW your proud of your son, and thanks for showing it. He's touched alot of hearts with his music. I first heard him when my son was 11, had to take the CD from him and have it edited lol. Then I ended up getting all his albums from then on, and have even seen him in concert which totally ROCKED. Thanks Kid for all the great times. Your the perfect combo of yankee and redneck just like me. Guess that's why I love your music so much! Thanks MommaRock for supporting Kid, I hope it helped him feel better, and I agree refunding the money was a bit much, especially since HE was there. Keep up the good work!

Great letter and what I think would be an ode to what being on the road is about. People have this conjured image of your "glamored" life. They see what the rags want them to see and the $$, but what they don't see is the anguish of the hours spent away from family and friends, doing what you do best. I have witnessed it first hand and know to us the fans it is worth every dollar we spend on a ticket. What your post showed me was that you are more than just an entertainer, that you really care about your fans and you have heart, THAT is rare these days. It reminds me of being here with the hometown bands and being able to hang out with them party and go to the shows and WANT to be there for them in the audience ....rare like a diamond you are Kid. Rock On!

Moms are the best! Glad you got a good one in your corner. Also I agree with those that have said you don't owe anyone a refund. Nice gesture on your part but seriously you can't control the weather and fully did your part by getting there and playing. Much respect!

it's great to know someone in your life can keep it all in focus and who better than your mom. you are one of a kind. good PR and any kind of press is better than no press. those creative juices are getting fired up and that ain't a bad thing. fight for what you believe in and keep the focus! by the way I Love George Jones too!

How sweet! Thanks for sharing~ Couple of years ago we took our then 14 year old to see Lynyrd Skynyrd and you in Houston, Texas this was our son's first concert ever. I went being a HUGE Skynyrd fan and left being also a huge KID ROCK fan... What a show, you rocked the sold out house, we was second row dead center, I will NEVER forget the first thing you said when you came out. "Thanks for spending your hard earned money coming out tonight" That was way cool~Roll on!!!

I'm been thinking about you and what you wrote. It hurts when you are doing the right thing and it goes unappreciated and worse yet, attacked. When you give love out, love should come back. But as you know, that doesn't always happen. That's a shame. But the real shame would be if the love stopped pouring out. I was born and lived the first 5 years of my life in Detroit. Then the parents moved to Livonia. I'm a Michigan girl and have been a fan of yours for a long time. It seems to me that you are the type of person that will never stop giving the love out. I now understand why - your mother. I'm sending my love your way. Stay warm and keep rocking.
