Only the opening scene of 1996’s movie Fargo was shot in the ville so that should have been a clue…for unless its twin city Moorehead, Minnesota boasts something I don’t know there’s really not much there to do. William Fargo the Wells Fargo Express Company founder received the honor of its name…and it was known as the “Gateway to the West” after the Northern Pacific Railroad came. After glacial Lake Agassiz drained away about 9,300 years ago… rich sediments were left behind for agricultural products to grow. Therefore Red River Valley early settlers called it a new Garden of Eden…and many came from miles around including from Germany, Norway, Ireland, and even Sweden. The 1957 tornado destroyed a large portion of the city…but a song about the tragedy one cannot find not even a little ditty. The Red River’s northward flow causes flooding from dams of ice…but it’s mayor Dennis Walaker, despite the often chilling cold, is probably really nice. Home to North Dakota State University, the pretty Art Deco Fargo Theatre, and several golf courses scattered around… you can also watch as the Fargo Moorhead Derby Girls push woman to the ground. A few museums in the city are certainly of note…Bonanzaville, Roger Maris, and Hjemkomst Center includes a Viking ship that most would just call a big boat. So thank God for the concerts held at the Fargodome…for without them most would be at home. But tonight is the night Kid Rock and Bob Seger are in town…so with their Rock and Roll music they’re gonna rock the city upside down!

My great morning led me to many blessings!!! :) :) :) Super 1 had great deals & He blessed me with the finances to stock up & to get my first ever corned beef, cabbage, & red potatoes which I'm going to make for the very first time tomorrow!!! :) :) :) Wish me luck? Please? :) And some Amber local beer to add to my remaining 4 Faceplants & other fun items! :) And then...wait, hold the presses! :) I mentioned to my hostess, one of my absolute most favorite people in this world, that I was coming to see you in Grand Junction & she said "Oh, I have really good friends there...In fact, I just heard from her the other day & we talked of how we missed each other" & she wants to road trip there together in her Infiniti! :) So we talked about her hanging with her friends, & her staying with them & maybe coming to your concert, too, if she could get her own ticket. I'll have to check with my friend who graciously extended a ticket to me & offered to help me out to get there to see what works best for her since she is the one who so kindly put all this in motion, but it could really cut down my expenses (which would make me feel better accepting her kindnesses) plus I'd be traveling with a super awesome friend who's all about fun road trips & I'd be safe if my kind ticket extending friend couldn't stay the whole time because of work & things. My hostess said it sounds really really good & she needs a vacation. I reminded her how hard she's worked in school (& she graduates this spring) & one of her sons is also graduating from college then, too, but she said she needed to get through mid-terms these next couple of weeks before she could talk more details so that gives me time to talk with my kind friend to see what works best for her. I'm so happy...I love you!!! :) :) :)
