Car show was awesome, planted 100 flowers, dinner at Joes Crab Shack and I am wiped out today! Man it was cool at the car show but didn't get to ride limo NASCAR this time. Got there a little late.

You haven't seen my belly!!!! It's bigger!!!!

rjl1969's picture

Oh I forgot about Emmy Lou . I agree. Like I said there are so many others. Got to get rolling and get the lawn guy and air conditioning guys here and have someone to carry my 6 ft topiaries outside to enjoy the sun so I can shower and get ready for the show if I plan on going . Y'all have a blessed day and thanks for the good stories for everyone who went on the cruise. Never realized shooter was Waylands son and Lukas was Willies. That's so cool. It's a family tradition of which Kid happens to be the youngest. Lol. Feels good doesn't it Bobby? And now the lil Bandit.

Nazareth hair of the dog, love hurts, YouTube it, beautiful song. Would love to hear Kid sing it. Beautiful 70-80s and contemplating the car show and taking the mustang and challenger down , drinking and riding the NASCAR limo around the track a few times again. This time might join so I can drive my challenger around the track. That's the kinda speed I like and my favorite saying, sideways is a direction. Yeee Haaa mf lets rock. I would have to jam Jackson Mississippi going round the track. I want to do the obtacle course race so bad but my car is not really made for that because it doesn't handle as well in sharp turns and tends to fish tail really easy. I would love to do it in a z28 or vette or something. Hahaha, that sounded funny.

I Believe's picture

Its been beautiful here...like 80 today.

Montana Anna's picture

Wow, 80!?! That's awesome! It's been gorgeous here, too, high 50's today, bright & sunny :) Yesterday was 60 something & I vacuumed & washed all my floors & rugs...feels great today with having done that spring cleaning. Supposedly a little winter for Sunday 40's & snow, but that'll be ok 'cuz I know it's not stayin' ...Soon I get to bring out my summer clothes and put these damn wool socks I've needed for too long away for a while...give me my flip flops! :)

Montana Anna's picture

Amen, RJL...love the music you mention (although I don't know if I know Nazareth?)...I, too, fell in love with music through that which my parents introduced me to. I also love Emmy Lou Harris...wow, her ability to harmonize blows me away, just like Kid's ability to do it the same way...absolutely blows my mind...and, as a lowly soprano, kinda pisses me off, too, how good they are at it! LOL! :) I don't know if I've seen all of Pure Country, I Believe, so guess I'll put that on my to-do list :) So nice of you to take your mother to the George Jones concert in November...is that the one Kid will be playing at too?

I Believe's picture

These are for you Montana.

Montana Anna's picture

Thanks, IB! I didn't know the first one, but I really liked it...especially the guitar :) I was dancing :) He played that same thing Kid does in (I think) Only God Knows Why...do you remember what it's called? And yes, I totally knew the second :) I know songs but I often loose at the name the artist or title or year game but I still love playing :) I love, love, love music and I'm trying to learn more and pay more attention to and retain that sort of information. A flight would be great, too. I'll try to connect with my friend and see if she's still in GJ or actually I just looked at my atlas...we were in Crested Butte & she lives, I think, in Gunnison, but that could have changed, too. I'll investigate :) Either way, no worries. I've traveled extensively by myself on lots of US roadtrips...even overseas to Geneva and then another time to Spain...I met up with some others each time, even politely declined a marriage proposal in Spain but still traveled to Morocco, so I'm thinking GJ would be ok :) I look forward to chatting tomorrow. I've not been hanging out in the discussions much this week as I'd felt a bit yucky and didn't feel like computing as much, plus I was busy working and doing Missoula stuff. I'll look for a thread, though. And I was so so happy to share Kid's music with my friends and my FB friend knew of some of his older artistry and I now have her interested in learning more. I don't need them to remember it was me who introduced them to his genius...I just want them to know and feel his artistry...that is what is most important to me.

I Believe's picture

The beginning beat kinda sounds like Lets Ride a bit, but what I think you're talking about is called a talk-box...think Frampton. Its not the same as a vocoder, or autotune.

Montana Anna's picture

Yeah, a talk-box...that's it! Thanks, IB! Doesn't Nazareth use it in Hair of the Dog? I'll have to watch it again and also Kid's Only God Knows Why to confirm my thoughts. I know I've seen him use a talk-box before because before him, I'd never seen one before. He teaches me so much. I love it! And I'll check the videos out again to listen for the Let's Ride similarity. Thanks for teaching me and giving me a heads up. You're awesome! I haven't seen a vocoder before so maybe when my computer decides it wants to work for me I'll google one. Autotune? I've only heard of that in reference to vocal correction software...is there something else I don't know? Wouldn't be the first time! LOL :) Frampton :) My step-sister (also named Anna) used to have a poster of him in her bedroom (late 70's early 80's)...makes me smile...I hadn't thought about that in quite a while :)

I Believe's picture

Nazareth~yes...Kid Rocks Only God~No. Not the same. The talk box uses the instrument/guitar, the vocoder uses the voice and syhthesizes it and back & autotune...well it's just that...autotune. You are right though Montana, in that Kid has used a talk-box while doing Only God at some live shows.

Montana Anna's picture

Wow thanks for teaching me! I really appreciate it! You Rock! I'll check out the I Am The BullGod version in a bit. Yey! I love learning more about music and Kid Rock! :) Ok, though, what I'm getting confused with and why I thought the two songs similar was that mouth tube thing attached to the microphone...what's that?

I Believe's picture

Yes, it will be huge as this is the possums last tour. Love me some George Jones....man, memories of him, and he & Tammy together.

rjl1969's picture

Man I would love to be there. I grew up listening to Segar because my mom, lol, had really good taste in music . I learned about Billy Joel, Rod Stewart, The Stones, Willie Nelson, Nazareth , Eagles, Carol King, Stevie Nix, Beatles, Crystal Gayle, Linda Rondstat, I could just keep going, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, George Straight. I fell in love w music. It's the beauty that calms the beast.

I Believe's picture

Hey you, I love all of them too. All kinds of music, and alot of the older stuff. Man I love me some George Strait. One of my favorite movies is Pure Country. I love it!! And George Jones... will be taking my mom to his show in Nashville in November.

I Believe's picture

Hey Montana, hows it going? Wish we we're there 'eh? Well, I'm planning on checking out the Country Jam in Grand Junction Co. Never been to it, but only about 8 hours, so thought I would go. (As long as work permits that is) So many things can change in a few months. Also, still planning on Sturgis. That is a sure thing no matter what, as I'll be there anyway, like I mentioned before. So, how the hell are you girl, and whats been happening with you? :)

Montana Anna's picture

HiYa, I Believe! I've been missing you! Whatcha been up to yourself? Hell Yeah, I totally wish we were there tonight! :) Can you imagine how awesome that would be?!? I've been listening to a lot of both of their music lately & would love, love, love to see them on stage together. Their Real Mean Bottle video got me really amped! I don't know anything about Country Jam, but I betcha it'd be tons o' fun! Have you ever been to Grand Junction? Beautiful place!I accompanied friends who were doing a 50 mile run there...not me, I stopped at sprint triathlons, a 1/2 marathon, & 500 mile bike rides in 6 days - lol - those runners are fucking crazy! We did do some mountain trail hiking but the best part is I was driving my Jeep then & I hafta say it was pretty cool driving it through a small creek/river to get to the trailhead...I even got some oohs, ahhs, & street cred from the guys riding along :) You're right, so many things can change in a few months...speaking of which, I really hope something changes so I can make it to Sturgis...speaking of awesome! I've been good...a mild, mild, mild case of the flu the last week or so, but not anything now...the only thing that sucks was my body not going as fast as my mind would like it to to accomplish all I'd like...argh! All the turtles I've been seeing keep reminding me of patience so I'll guess I'll just work in to all I want to do :) I love daylight savings here in MT...it's already light until about 8 so that's been helping me feel like I can fit more things into my day - lol! I also got a bit of legal writing last week & if the case continues, I have a bit more...those insurance companies sure know how to wear their 'clients' down when they shoulda paid up a long time ago. Pisses me off! I have a girls night pizza party at a neighbor's house tonight so that'll be fun :) Much as I love living here in my little cottage doing my own thing, it's good for me to get out & socialize, too! LOL :) Hope all is good with you! :)

I Believe's picture

How far are you from Grand Junction? I've been through there, and did have family living in Fruita for many years, but no longer. Still have family in Colorado though, but more southeast...like in between a pig farm & a slaughter house out in the middle of nowhere. :)

Montana Anna's picture

I don't know how far GJ is from here as I was spending the summer in Vegas, scooped up a friend who was in Albequerque at the time and road tripped from there on up. Most things are about a day's drive from here...argh! I can pull by myself about 13-14 hours in a day...I remember driving from here to Vegas in about 13ish. Another summer (right after law school) I left Wisconsin where I was staying with family, drove out to pick up my friend, Bobbie, in Fort Collins, and then we headed out on our road trip with our first stop at her sister's in Kansas (holy humid & huge ass ticks, Batman!) so yeah, I think I mighta driven past that pig farm & slaughter house in the wow I had no idea Colorado was so fucking flat middle of nowhere! :) With it so flat, humid, and ticky :) why was Dorothy so itchy to get back home? LOL :)

I Believe's picture

Exactly...lol!! Yep, I think its just over 7 hours from here. They have some "skybox" seating thats supposed to be on the stage somewhere, but not sure where, or how, but it should be pretty good. Hell I love outdoor summertime shows anyway, so it'll be great, then add Kid Rock, oh, and Uncle Kracker...real good, and if ones lucky enough to be there all weekend, lots of other great artist too. The "skybox" thing is per artist though.

Montana Anna's picture

The only thing I can think of is Dorothy didn't like the flying monkeys...that, I don't blame her, they still freak me out, too! :) Outdoor summertime shows...Awesome! Other fun people to see...Cool :) Outdoor Summertime Show with Kid Rock & Uncle Kracker...Sheer Priceless Heaven! :)

I Believe's picture

Forget the last question as I looked. :) So, you're about 12.5 hours, and its 3-months away. What would it take for you to be there?

Montana Anna's picture

I'd have to figure out transportation, but I have 3 months so I could maybe rent a car or greyhound it from Missoula (I'm 24 miles south in Stevensville). I'll brainstorm & save my pennies...& also pray for my hitting tonight's Mega Millions :) My dog's really good but I'd probably line up a sitter unless I'm already on my dream of a road trip, then she'd be fine with me checking in on her in my non-busted ass vehicle - lol :) She likes road tripping, too, and is super content just knowing she's along for the ride and I'm nearby.

I Believe's picture

Hey, check the cost of rental car, as it may not cost much. I'll help you out. Kid doesn't take the stage 'til late, but its an all day event...just so ya' know. Go check out the website. Country Jam. We might be able to find a resonable flight too, and I can pick you up from the airport. Check 'em out & let me know. I gotta run for a bit now, but I'll check back in a bit k.

I Believe's picture

And just so you know, I already have an extra ticket, and I would love to make your day.

Montana Anna's picture

OMG! OMG! OMG! You've already made my day!!! :) :) :)

I Believe's picture

Cool, lets make it happen then. Kid will make my day too, but it will really make my day to see you sooo happy to finally get to see his bad ass self live.

Montana Anna's picture

How kind and generous you are, I Believe! I can't thank you enough for the hope and happiness I feel right now! :) Simply and humbly thank you! :) I can't imagine how happy I'll be to be hanging with you and finally getting to see his bad ass self live! :) How I've dreamed...and believed :) Thank you, my kind and generous friend! :)

I Believe's picture

Can do the whole Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday camping thing and see all the great artist, or just Kid. I may not be there for it all due to work etc., but you could be?
