Now get in the pit and try to love someone.
Preparty Tues. 3/5:
What fun! Our flight got in from Detroit around noon. By the time we got off the plane, we could taxi to the boat and check in. Seemed to be a more streamlined process this year. We did stop and get wine at a party store, which I probably would not do again. We really did not drink in our room, so a waste of time there. Save the cork fee per bottle (15$) and the hassle. Drinks in the Atrium bar/reception area before the PJ party at night on the pool deck (Lido, whatever;) ).If you saw the 'herd of zebras' in PJ's, it was us!
Sail Away Concert Weds. 3/6:
Fun in the Sun. Chilly in the mornings and evenings (with a breeze), but warmed up quickly... 75 to 77-ish during the days...)Shots of Devil's Cut for a toast before the big concert moment. Not a whiskey drinker, but sipped a couple shots down while listening to KR and TBT's. KR in long sleeved pink shirt with black bermuda shorts (I purchased similar pink shirt at TSC (Tractor Supply Co... I think my peeps were slightly mortified that the majority of my clothing came from Meijer or TSC--LOLOL!!)
HOLY HADES--Trombone Shorty/Orleans Avenue Show at 10 pm...their first show on the cruise. I am 2nd row center, because I have been waiting for this. Most of my peeps are waiting for Robert James' show to start at 10:30, so Mama Ho joins me (you saw her-Granny in the wig!!!)Third song in (Mrs. Orleans), and guess who shows up and does a 23 minute jam session with T-Bone and Crew, and pulls Hershel up to boot--Yep, Kid Rock! Freakin big time. Shorty's show ends, and Mama Ho and I head over to hear the rest of Junior's show, which was packed. I couldn't really concentrate on his music this show, but would later. KR showed up on stairs to take it in.
Went to bed early (11:00 pm?)
Thursday, 3/7: Redneck Paradise
Nice day on the beach with good friends and Heineken. John Eddie and Band did a great job- always a pleasure. Caught snippets of Lucky Bitch contest...Gina from Detroit I think won? Congrats :)
Laughed our a$$es off at Speedo Contest. Aaron (winner) truly did prepare to win. His wife and her pals choreographed his moves for days, and I must say I was impressed. He didn't even have to pull out the 'big gun' (which others did, to my surprised delight.)Cockman underpants was a hoot, and I have to 'hand' it to the 'So Hott' Sisters for making it such a fun time! Dave Dude (last year's winner), you were still special. Loved the picnic table dance and the crowd dives.
Had to see Trombone Shorty again. Showed up at 6:30 pm on the Pool Deck. Staked out my front row center spot. OMG can I say AMAZING AMAZInG AMAZING?? I coulda touched his freakin leg if I wanted too (which I thought about, but really, did not.)The whole band is on their late 20's or just 30. They have been working their a$$es off for a few years now. Professionals. Talented. Gives me hope for the future of music. T-bone even has a foundation set up for kids who cannot afford music. My wish for this exceptional young man and his band members is that they do not get sucked up into the usual wastelands of the music industry. Stay away from the $hit! and stay TRUE to yourselves! RSMS offered T-Bone a beer, and he said he doesn't drink. Her reply was..'I love you more.'
Jammed to Lukas Nelson (another Holy Hades!)-*Story Cont'd at end of posts-*

Robert James just posted his first video of the cruise performances. It was Trombone Shorty's and KRS Val (Val), RSMS(Laurie) and Cheryl J (logansgrams) are up front and center stage. Go Woodshop Crew.

I did the post cruise survey
I did the post cruise survey and forgot to mention the crappy pillows (hard as hell).
It was a great time. No
It was a great time. No complaints. The music was amazing. Ok, well, one complaint and I will pass it on to Sixthman.....no big screen on deck for kids concert and Q&A. That's all. How can I complain... I got to spend almost an entire week with my friends listening to my favorite artist, I didn't have to work, cook, clean or even think about any thing, just having fun. Thanks, Bob. You're an awesome host. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
That's what makes a true
That's what makes a true artist, you know when they feel it cause you feel it. Like kid says if its real they'll feel it.

Hahahaha, love it! Liked the other song better but like the subject of this one.
I shall do that. Beautiful
I shall do that. Beautiful voice. I looked him up and listened to song you posted on my fb. Man, gave me chills he sounds so much like his dad. My mom used to hang out with Willie. He was so personable.
Look up the song called 'The
Look up the song called 'The Joint' or 'Joint'... he's so tender and gentle in the beginning and then he goes off like half way, climax of the song.. gets into it so much that his spits flying everywhere, he growls..lol takes you on a trip.. and demands you to feel him through his song.... "I feel so alive right now" daam right...ehh.. can't think of anyone but Janis Joplin right now as far as someone who displays such a feel into their craft.. but he's got some blues and soul up in there...a lil bit of everything really.
Dude's doing some serious
Dude's doing some serious meditation type stuff.. saw him doing yoga moves and stretches for a long while before he got on the stage with Shooter

Wow, sounds like a blast. How fun it is to live vicariously through Rebel Souls. Lol
Is Lukas Nelson Willie's son?
Is Lukas Nelson Willie's son? Man he sounds just like Willie Nelson.
Yes.. and yes he does. Never
Yes.. and yes he does. Never knew he existed.. thank you KID ROCK !!!! I thought there could be no other who would ever sound like Willie.. never. Nobody can ever replace Willie... just like there will never be another Elvis, Lennon, or Cash, or Kid Rock :) Can't help but hear that beautiful vibrato that only Willie (and now his son) can do. And tone of voice.. so eerie yet so daam beautiful.. and knows how to rock n roll.
This cruise was jammed packed
This cruise was jammed packed full of goodness.... let it be known that we 'again' totally missed the dining room service and ate at all the wrong times because there was just too much good music going on. Oh well... didn't really go there to eat anyway. We caught ourselves going to some of the same shows over and over again... Lukas all three.. Robert James.. two. Um... yea.. found ourselves out on deck six alot.. smoker's lounge.... Gene called it something else... seemed the late night, early morn stoned pimps all made there way there...ha... and then the drunks that couldn't function any longer. What a spectacle sometimes... just craziness..lol. Someone told me,and I forget who, but that the first day 6 ppl were taken to the brig for having group sex in one of the hot tubs....but were left go the next day.... and that was just the start of things.
Val: I talked to Dime on the
Val: I talked to Dime on the plane. HIs eyes were a bit red lol.
I almost forgot - I met
I almost forgot - I met ChopShop too. OK - poof - I'm gone now!
Very nice review, Val. There
Very nice review, Val. There was so much to do, no wonder why I'm still tired!
I finally got to meet the mysterious Mr. Bart lol I showed most the ladies your pic I took. I never saw Bart again, he poofed...inside joke with the ladies on the cruise, Genny/Chop Shop was good at poofing lol...it's funny cause there were some people I kept seeing over & over. Glad I got to meet many of the KRC members, I had the best time ever!!!
Genny told me she was going
Genny told me she was going to eat properly and get rest because it was her vacation. I don't think she did either because she is sick as a dog. Did not see much of her after Wednesday night.
Val, Cheryl, and I flew home
Val, Cheryl, and I flew home with the TBTs and ran into Kid as he headed out the elevator on the boat. Too funny-about five of us were waiting for the elevator and when the doors opened, Kid was in it. No one said anything so I said, "hey" and Kid said, "Good Morning" as he passed by, on the way to the hot tub. I then asked everyone in a loud voice, "Am I the only one who recognized him?" We all laughed since they all had that deer in headlights look going on. Val thought it was look-alike Kev at first. lol
I was on lido and saw Kid and
I was on lido and saw Kid and Audrey go in the hottub. I thought my eyes were deceiving me. I hadn't even had a shower yet. I sat there a moment drinking my morning coffee before I got the courage up to go down and speak to Audrey. What a gem. She said my name and came right over to talk to me. She is a doll. Love that she remembers people and has that great personality. I wish someone had a pic of me talking to her before the mob arrived. After taking my shower the zoo was in and around the tub. Crazy, crazy. Great memories.
Yea, we only saw Margo on the
Yea, we only saw Margo on the pimps/ho night at the buffet.....Never saw her or her hubby again. I saw Beckxy a few times throughout and chatted with her a couple of times.
It was weird...we would see the same people for 2 days staight, then nothing.....or didn't see them the first 2 days and then every show afterward.
At different times, we ran into Kid, Shakes, Stephanie, Marlon, Jimmie, Aaron, Jason, Dime, and Robert James......Kept seeing Shooter/band and the guys from "Big Rock Show".
No sightings of Jessica, Shannon, or Dave?
I kept asking the same guy on
I kept asking the same guy on our floor if he was Bart. Finally he said, "No, I'm still not Bart"-lol For a half-second I thought of using my Q and A op to ask where the Hell Bart was ;)
We sat by Jessie and her hubby on the tender back to the island 1st day. Talked to Shannon quite a bit in the airport on way back home. I think we told each TBT thanks. We thought Dime was hiding out-he's the only one we didn't see out and about. Kept running into T-Shorty in elevators and in the hall. He is such a sweetie! Saw Shooter stumbling around at the Sail away...evidently his luggage had been lost? I only dressed up for camo and represent nights. Laurie was supposed to be my Ho, but we decided we weren't in the mood.We got a hug from John Stone first night, also.
I weas getting a complex
I was getting a complex asking everyone who looked remotely like the pic that Margo showed us of Bart so I finally gave up.
we asked everyone Sir Bart-
we asked everyone Sir Bart- Margo said you found her
Great review....How the hell
Great review....How the hell did I miss you Val? We went to almost all the same shows!
Here's what I would add:
Shows - in ranked order: Kid (of course), Trombone Shorty, The Trews, Lukas Nelson, Shooter Jennings, Whodini, Robert James, Howling Diablos, London Souls.
Ship: I liked it. A little different from Carnival. The pool area was bigger, but it seemed like we were constantly criss-crossing the ship to see shows. The main theatre was smaller too.
Food: I agree - it was good the first few days, but it seemed like it was the same every day, so a little more variety would be nice.
Bars: The lines were shorter, but most weren't open in the morning. Did they not get the memo?
Q&A: A little disappointing. Seemed like he was having fun, but didn't really answer most questions. At least he wasn't wasted.
Redneck Paradise: I liked it better than last year. It was spread out, but still closer - if that makes sense. Last year we had to wander around the jungle to find the food - this year it was within sight of the beach chairs. More bars, more bathrooms and a short walk to/from the tenders.
Sixthman: I thought they did a good job. Seemed like they had less people helping this year, but they were in the important spots to help out.
Weather: Much better. It was a little chilly at night, but it was nice, sunny, and high 70's during the day. No complaints. It only rained for about 10 minutes before the sail-away, but I didn't even take cover - it was very light.
That's all I can think of right now. Great vacation. Great shows.
great review Val-I will try
great review Val-I will try to add something later-heading to Cobo this morning for science fair set up

Again--Hope for the Future of Music in this young Dude and his band! IMPRESSIVE! Jump around with that geetar! I will watch and listen all day! Speakin of listenin--close your eyes, and tell me you did not hear Willie in him! Cute as a bug's ear.
Enjoyed Howling Diablos (did I tell you we are from DETROIT?lol) before hoofing it to Shooter Jennings.
Shooter had a packed room. Liked his show, don't know much of the background. I know he's Waylon's son. Heavy hitting country Outlaw (he prolly hates that term) hard rock shit. Was a little surprised he walked offstage before his band on the last song with his red dixie cup.
Friday, 3/8:
Staked out spots for KidRock/TBT Beach Show early on the island. I think we spent 5 hours in the sun on our towels. Got what amounted to 3rd row center after all was said and done. KR /TBT's started show about 15 mins. early, thank Goodness. Drank lots of water and shots. Did not want to go the beer route b/4 the show. They played about 1-1/2 hours. Couple of things from new album, and of course Bawaditba jumps. Hey KR, thanks for the Political commentary on 'Chickens in the Pen.' Glad I was not off the mark there in the interpretation :) We Still Care And Will Persevere.
Was able to catch Robert James' show in the Spinnaker lounge. Wow, Junior has really come a long way from his earlier work on the road. If you closed your eyes (which many of us commented on,), you could hear a younger KR--but, KR--even better! No offense, dude. Junior, tell your own stories, and use your own personality, and you will do just fine. Your song 'My Life' ( hope I did not screw up title)..killed me--tears, made me cry, soooo real. Perfect.
Caught Whodini and their Hot Girls at 10pm. Embarassed to say didn't know a lot of their music, but enjoyed the hell out of it. I think I was working my a$$ off when they were popular or something.
Stayed up way too late to hear John Stone and Band. Drank too much and was severely hung over the next day.
