Way to go, Mrs. Cedar! Keep it up :) I agree the muscle tone is key. I'd heard at rest muscle is still burning calories so I don't go all crazy on cardio, either. Don't get me wrong...I used to...but now my exercise is really to continue feeling good, maintain and improve my muscle tone, and just 'cause it's good for my brain...it helps quiet it down. Snaps to you, Mrs. C, sounds like lifting everyday not only makes you feel good, but I betcha Mr. C doesn't mind either lol :) Thanks for the inspiration for my lifting is more sporadic but easy to build in if I focus ;) but I do get a core workout from all my bouncey ball 'sitting'...well, ok, sometimes it turns into cardio, too...I can't sit still and listen to Rebel Soul can I? ...Nope, impossible. I've tried. I've failed. One must dance to musical masterpieces :)

Mrs Cedar Michigan's picture

still at it....been doing pretty good.... :) ..keeping/maintaining muscle tone is key I think.... It has been the only thing that has worked for me... I only do cardio a couple times a week....but I lift everyday....

Good God!!!!!! ~Lol--almost every post of mine on this thread mentions beer/alcohol---and ~thinking~ about working out---what a mess I was!!!!!!
One year later--I actually DO work-out and---on Christmas Day--I drank 1/4 of a can of Natural Light and had a HELLA Buzz--LMAO!!!!!!! It's nice to be a light-weight--cheap date these days--lol :-)
I Love You Guys :-) Happy Valentine's Day :-)

Montana Anna's picture

Yeah, we've all had our moments MsB! :) What a great family, huh? Congrats on the work outs...great to hear you're feeling good :) And I thought I was the cheap date lightweight!?!?! ;) lol :) You keep up that sassy self of yours ok?!?! I hope you feel tremendous joy at all you receive in love today :) I love you, too, sweetie! :)Happy Valentine's Day! :)

Ha haaaa!!!
I gave the bike to my Fed Ex guy for his daughter....lol
But Yes! I lost some weight, and I've been pumping iron and working the ab ball! So are Cedars and Just Because. 3 more weeks. And Imma tanning (it's not an exercise, but it makes me feel better)

Hey Val, weights are great for toning up. As for cardio, I like to keep it mixed up, but my one true constant, and friend, is the jump rope...amazing! Though I remember when I first started using it, it took me awhile to get used to it, and to where I could do it for bit. :)

KRSVal's picture

I like the jump rope, too. It has to be fun for me, or I won't do the activity. I'm going to get one today! I have wanted to walk outside around the 'block'--here that means 2 miles, country road 'blocks'--but the weather has not been kind.

I Believe's picture

Get a speed rope, as you can ajust it to fit your height, and they are the best!! Once I really got it down. I find there's nothing better. We're always pretty lucky with the weather here, at this time of year anyway. I hear you with the long blocks...funny...but I love the country too!!

Montana Anna's picture

I haven't jumped rope since I was a Kid! :) What fun thoughts it brings to mind! :) I never could quite get the handle of the big double jumping rope thing, but I was pretty good with my own in my younger years :) I'd love to try it again...what fun! And I hear ya IB and Val, it has to be fun for me or I won't do it either...I like some routine but I also like to keep fresh, interested, and flexible. I love to walk, too! Out here it's been like spring with the sun shining, 40's, no snow on the ground ahhh :) so I'll probably head out after helping a friend with her school studies this morning. I like the walk where I live because you can change up the intensity of the work out...I can just stroll and relish the countryside or really pump it, especially on two hills...makes for a good time...a good time, that is, if you don't have a jump rope :) Although were I to try it again, I don't know which would be the more intense workout...jumping rope or my laughter at jumping rope after all these years! lol :) One thing's for certain it sure would be fun entertainment! lol :)

some of these posts are so damn funny, thought we could all use a laugh..anybody working out for this years cruise??

Mrs Cedar Michigan's picture

I just stepped on the treadmill yesterday, and lifted weights for the first time since I got back from The Boat.... I ain't gonna lie....it hurt.....lol

rocksavedmysoul's picture

Tammyray: There are a couple of cute pics of you from the cruise at Will's photo site.

TammyRay's picture

Geesh, took me for ever to find this discussion thread.....Does anybody remember it?? (lol)
so was just wondering if any one used the gym facilities on the boat??

I'm going to try and keep up on the work-outs a bit,
funny thing could not lose a pound pre-cruise as I said many times on here
just weighted myself yesterday and lost about 5lbs. what the hell is up with that??
anyway just wanted to see this bumped and perhaps motive those who wish to continue to get a bit healthier...

Triple L Blessings

Tan fat looks better than white fat---that's my mantra. Makeup? No problem...sunglasses work wonders. And then there are hair clips.
Seriously, I have been running so much with my parents, there isn't a moment to exercise. I'm lucky to keep up with laundry and meals for the family. I'll just buy a couple of beers for you all and then I'll look great-lol. 27 days!!!!!!

TammyRay's picture

I have a whole bucket of lemons (just pruned my tree a bit) gunna start eating them like apples (lol)
haven't been on the treadmill much but still doing my dancercise, with weights most days and watching what I eat or should I say watching what I don't eat..and still have not lost a pound..but I'm not gunna let it wreck my day--I keep smilin....................

KRSVal's picture

Well by the looks of things over here, RSMS, I'm inclined to agree with her! If I can just shape up my arms even by then, I'll be happy. And fit into my clothes :)

rocksavedmysoul's picture

I was talking to my mom's 93-year old rehab roommate and telling her about the cruise and how a bunch of us were trying to lose some pounds before it and her response was, "That's the stupidest thing I have ever heard." She laughed at me and said if you all just love yourselves as you are, you'll have a great time. She's a funny, yet wise, lady. BTW-she swears like a sailor, too. I really do love her. She eats lemon slices, rind and all. I think it's the secret to the fountain of youth. Gonna go try me some lemon-LOL.

Montana Anna's picture

Funny stuff RSMS funny stuff :) I love myself so I believe I'll have a great time if I do ever blonde meow figure out if I'm going on the boat or how that's all working...I'm confused I guess I have some reading and stuff to do...(but just in case, lemons, huh? I have one right here, maybe I'll give it a try lol)

just because's picture

Lisa, you sure are dedicated! Good for you :) I'm gonna try cutting back on the vino. (Somehow that just don't sound as good LoL)

I worked out all week. Ran in the park 3 days, and on the second day busted out 6 miles...I think all the pent up anxiety needed to come out. My town of Dexter got hit hard by a tornado last week. All is well at my home, but a lot of devastation all around. I started tanning almost 2 weeks ago and today my hubby and daughter said I need to lay off...getting a little brown...but I like it!!! Maybe 3 times a week is too much? lol

just because's picture

Mrs. Cedar, Like the new pic!!!

Val, started jazzercise this last week. A month to go...it's now or never!

KRSVal's picture

Ladies, ladies, ladies--page 7? What have we been doing?
Around 30 days left now...weather is getting nicer, let's get moving! :)

LOL, Lisa.

Better now than on the boat RSMS! Glad to see you back on here :)

LisaG67's picture

Feel better RSMS...Never a fun way to lose weight...Drink lots of water...
Beautiful weather today! Had the windows down singing 3 Sheets to the Wind in my new ride cranked up SOOO loud!!! My 15 year old daughter would have been mortified if she was with me....

KRSVal's picture

Get better, RSMS. Lots of bad stuff floating around right now :(

rocksavedmysoul's picture

I have eaten one bagel in the last two days. I think I had a norovirus. Wasn't the way I wanted to lose weight. I can't even think of eating food right now. Keep washing your hands everyone.

KRSVal's picture
