If you want to sit at a concert, you are at the wrong show!
Angie Meyer's picture

I am always so in to the concert that I do not pay attention to anyone around me, this is especially true at any Kid Rock concert! My focus is on the artist and stays there! Can't wait to see you in KC and Springfield! See you a week from today!

I have experienced all of these behaviors at one point or another... but heres one not listed- the guy in the crowd who thinks its appropriate to grab the ass of the girl who is standing in front of him!!! My ex ended up in jail because of that (I should mention that he was not the grabber he was the puncher of the grabbers face)... but I gotta say his mugshot didnt come out nearly as nice as yours ;)

I'm so glad that I decided to go to your show at the Seminole Hard Rock to ring in New Years Eve; I had a blast! The 210 mile drive wasn't that bad especially on the way back because all I could think of is how you puckered your lips at me when I was hanging my tongue out at you ♥ So IF you think man I'd love to see that girl again.....Here I am (BTW check your facebook messages)

I'm with Baby Girl, if there was a way here to donate some $ towards helping people out that want to see Kid's show, I'd be happy to help where I could. I know what it is like to live on a very tight budget, and sometimes on overdraft to checking account & credit cards -stupid! I'll never do that again! And, I know sometimes you need to just get out and have some fun! However, can appreciate how tricky this can be. Hang in there StormyAng good things will come to you and your family! On different note, people throwing up around you during a concert, as Baby Girl mentioned, trumps people talking and standing up! :) I'm happy to say, I never had to witness that!

Hey StormyAng71 , If I had KID ROCK's permission or permission from his staff, I would donate money to help someone attend one of his concerts. However, deciding who actually gets the money may be difficult which is why I would need their permission. I understand times are tough and some people cannot afford to pay for two tickets. I know how much I love him and I would be really sad if I was not able to afford to go everytime he comes close to my hometown. Not sure if he actually reads these posts but I am just saying I would try to help. I hope you get to see him one day!!!
StormyAng71's picture

Baby Girl, you sound like a very nice person! I hope you have an awesome time at the concert!! I don't know if he reads these posts either, but maybe his staff does, if he doesn't, and can let me know of any contests. Thanks again!!

When I go to concerts I stand up the entire time to dance and jump around!! I personally do not care if people drink as long as they do not spill it on me!! I have been to several different concerts and only one was kind of annoying. I went to see Eric Church recently in Columbia which is where I live. Eric was awesome and we were on the floor. I witnessed two people throwing up, three fights, smelled weed and witnessed someone almost take off his shirt off and he this person needed to keep his shirt on. I really did not care as long as they did not throw up on me and did not hit me but it was kind of annoying. We still had a great time. Most of the people who were at the concert were young kids so that may explain the drama. I have been to three KID ROCK concerts and everytime has been epic!!! I am looking forward to Greenville in February. I go to concerts to have a good time and listen to music I love and I do not plan on letting anyone ruin my good time no matter what happens!!! KID ROCK is the best performer so far and I have seen lots of musicians live. If you have not been to see him then I hope you get to see him one day!!! It will be worth the wait!!!

Hey Kid! First of all, I love your music! It always makes me feel good. I know this probably isn't the appropriate way to go about this, but I am so not internet savvy. My husband is the most wonderful man. He takes wonderful care of our family. I am a stay at home mom of an 11 year old. I am a stay at home mom due to disability (although I do not recieve any benefits from our govenment!). My husband works so hard, lots of overtime for us to make ends meet and pay for my medical bills. He is the most amazing husband and father!! His birthday is coming up the end of January and I know that you are going to be in Greenville, SC in February, which is only an hour and a half from us, and he would love, love, love to see you. I would love to surprise him with tickets to this show, but I cannot afford it. I am not poor mouthing, we do fine, just don't have much left over for "fun" things. I was wondering if you ever do any contests for free tickets to your shows. If so, I would love to know how to enter. If you don't do any, please consider it! Thanks for your inspiring, rocking music!!!

kidrocket99---I do not understand the point of your story. Can you please explain to me exactly what you are saying? I am not being sarcastic, I really do not understand.

I guess I was just a liitle dillerious with this flu last night and I was responding to our thoughts on going to a concert these days and that was the most recent one I just went to. I think it is very inconsiderate if people stand and block your view of a show the entire time and obviously the point I was trying to make was that in the end if you want to fight over something YOU did all by your lonesome you will have to face the consequences. It was bad enough that they got away with being rude and blocking our view, but to contiune to ask why during the show when I didn't give a shit by then and then to actually wait after the show to discuss something that was past history and something we didn't want to make anymore time for was a bit much. It seems like people today are out to cause more trouble for nothing and they have to pay the price. Like I saiid it's become like ameture night and I wondered if they were really programmed to block me all along instead of enjoying the show. I was enjoying it ato the best of my ability but these young drunk 2 bit misseys had to go overboard. Do you got it now? Bottom line is that I'm too old for this kind of behavior. Everyone else was sitting down. Maybe I'm still pissed off and I'm just venting here. What I really hate the most is how the security guards treat you. That's the worst part of it all for me, screw everything else....if I wanted to sign up for the army I would have done so. I shouldn't have to feel like I'm in a millitary drill at a rock concert! That's what really SUCKS! I was told to sit down and where to stand at a Kid Rock concert. , and was rough housed by a security guard on top of it. I didn't like it but I did listen. Even though I didn't think it was very fair.

Some people are just very rude and I'm at the age, 45, that I don't need to deal with the bullshit anymore. So, if I do go to a concert, it has to be a good fucking concert!! We can watch baseball, football, hockey, and most concerts now on DVD in comfort of our own home with keg in living room and wine just a trip up the stairs, who needs this shit anymore! Bring a good show and maybe, just maybe. But Kid, you got the right idea, start looking into what turns people off about concerts and see what you can do about it. Mostly we, I and my husband, want the comfort of our own living room and the freedom to go to the fridge, or the keg, and it doesn't cost us a fricking fortune! Think outside the box!!

How about these two ametures that stood up in front of me the ENTIRE time at the Madonna concert. I asked them if they could at least stand still since I had to sit dpwn alot due to a bad back ache. They basically didn't sit at all and kept on looking back at me when I was sitting down trying to get used to the fact that I had to work around them, they kept on trying to ask me why I asked them to sit and how they paid $400.00 for the tickets (mine were the same price but I got them for free which helped to ease the pain). So my sisters cohort saw what was happening and thought they were starting trouble with me so she pulled her by the hair backwards and then my sister finished her off by scratching her face....I was like Oh God, Tazmania strikes again! The guards come and we are all basically being monitored and watched for the rest of the show. But it wasn't over (especially for my sister), they were waiting for us after the show (big mistake), and we were like; Just go home, they kept it up so my sister and the girl are now video taping eachother fighting until my sister grabs the girls phone out of her hand and slams it to the ground and then begins to smash it with the heel of her boot bullseye in the middle....At this point I'm out of the place calling my poor dad for help at 1:30am. I thought they'd get arrested but they met me back at the hotel and her friend and her were basically taking photos and glamourizing their scratch marks on the neck as if they were a string of pearls. I had more fun watching my sister in action than Madonna! And I thought I was the one who was gonna get it that night(I usually do)! We just showed my mom the videos the other night....she was speechless. Taz hasn't lived with us in 30 yrs. It was cool to bring back some of my childhood memories and not be the victim for once in my life! It's been a way of life for my sister.....why stop now?

#3!! People talking throughout concert, why and WTF!?! Lady next to me at Bob Segar concert insisted on talking to her friend througout then she turned to me and started talking to me at one point; I ignored her and I think she finally got the "hint". I did tell her I really want to hear "Against the Wind","Hollywood Nights"and "NIght Moves" she did shut up for those. The standing up thing is also annoying, but most people get the concert etiquette on that. The one thing that did not make the list, which is extremely annoying, is the $12.00 glass of wine or $9.00 glass of beer...come on!:) As for pics/video, I have to admit I'm tempted but know it is best to live in the moment! My husband always reminds me of this, just enjoy it; you'll never capture the moment as well as you think you will and while trying to do so, you miss it.

It's amazing how many people are wearing glasses these days, probally due to all of these computers and phones. I do not feel like I am at a rock and roll concert at all in comparison tto the 80's when I was growing up. It is a very hostile atmosphere with the way the guards treat you and people standing is a bit of a pain in the butt especially if you paid more than a hundreed dollars for your seat. Back in the day it was called festival seating where you bought that spot on the floor that didn't come with a chair you stood up and could go anywhere you wanted. I can see people standing around the stage but I think it's rude to have to watch the back of someones head or butt the entire time. I like a good show every now and then butit just isn't the same. It just seems more like amiture night.....I guess I'm just gett'in a little older now for all of the rules and regulations and commotion that goes with going to a concert.......Minus the backstage pass which I haven seen in a coons age......To be continued.....

Hope you had a epic birthday! Had a Happy New Year with you at the Hard Rock. I will help you start your tour off in Kansas City and then I will SEE YOU AND MY KRF ON THE BOATMOTHER FUCKER in March, Cant wait!!!!! My favorite spot to sit was the bottom row of the arena closest to the floor, not the floor though. Unless your in front, the seats suck! And the last person in the row. But here lately I hate that spot! People are so rude! They get up constantly during the whole friggin concert, tromp up and down the steps, stop and chatfor 10 minures..... and are in my way!!! This ain't a social hour....Kid Rock is on stage...,.SO FUCKING PAY ATTENTION DICKHEADS!!! You can chat at the dam Sonic later! Geeze why do they bother coming??? So I have decided that the middle of the row is better now. Not too many shoud be trying to get past me there, and the stair climbers wont bother me either. And I can watch you do what you do.....cuz you know your'e SO HOT! WOOT WOOT!!! SEE YOU SOON!

Agree, I think i have 77 pics from one of ur shows, person with me took them,(they were looking like i drug them there;) so i said snap away or something ...there wasnt anyone in front of us tho and I'm pretty sure I got some of my fav pics ever..in that 1 show (out of 50?:) .......and about the gen. admission area (the pit :) you have to expect to have ppl in ur face there, or on top of you there. The.last show for example this ass that was behind//beside? me in fargo, that was standing there not into the show at all but with his old lady who basically had her phone up in everyones view all the time...anyway me and him had words because he was trying to crowd ppl. out to give her more space, and arguing w/ everyone near him, while we are trying to watch the show!! Sec. had words for him too c[= By the end of the night he apologized to me for the shit he was talking to me..I think, because some guy behind him was drunk and pissed on his leg... eeeew.....he might not of asked for that ,but it sure put things into perspective there for him, lmao...sorry, gotta laugh, i was so bruised from holding my spot on the rail and he thought he was gonna go all night w/out him or his wife being bumped/touched ?Thats my thoughts about that for now....so ,How is everything with you ??.... Hope You had an awesome Birthday <3 see You on the cruise, Love you much,(hugs)

Happy Belated Birthday!!! I did announce it to everyone around me when it was your birthday on the 17th :-)....Annoying concert behaviors....yep some people are idiots....But there's no way anyone or anything could possibly ruin my good time at a Kid Rock Concert!! See you in Saginaw this April!!!
Tammy - I'm the one.'s picture

All I know is when I go to your concerts, I can not take my eyes off you! I especially love when you get all HOT and show your rock hard abs!!!! By the way, Happy Birthday!
ginahollywoodhowse's picture

Nothing more ignorant than going to a concert & trying to enjoy it, when you got the idiots on the phones, standing on their chairs, ect ect I can go on forever but, ya I pay good money to enjoy the talent im about to see,,, and it pisses me off to no end when you get the losers from loserville trying to ruin a good rocking time. needless to say, id ignore it, but when it comes to KID ROCK,,, watch out mother fuckers!! Nothings going to ruin this girls fun!!! :p
jjc's picture

yeah, like i went to a general admission concert, early of course, and some chick with a way big hair do came in and stood in front of me. then i fumed, now i not so sure what might fly out.
Castaway_daddy's picture

Yeah, funny stuff but can be true at the good shows because of a little over-doing it by some of the amatures. You want to see the show, you better pace yourself. This will be "one hell of a show" in Minneapolis/St. Paul and If I have my way I will be in the front rows where they don't allow pukers! If one does, hey I'll have my tropical shirt on and you won't even know It got it on me. Eeww! Can't wait for this Detroit assault converging here in force with Seger too, but I'll be there to take plenty of pics. Maybe 77 or so while I'm "rocking that bitch up and down the coast"! Hey, happy B-day Kid and just for the record... nobody has really barfed at your show in the front row right? It's all good. Rock on!!!
jakes's picture

Can we add one more? Please don't sit on your boyfriends shoulders thru the whole concert!
just because's picture

Agreed! Fortunately I've never had anyone round me puke or pee. I try not to drink much so I can remember the show but mostly so I don't spend half an hour in line for the john. What drives me crazy is someone who is clearly not into it. I will admit to taking pics. Well, making my husband take them, he is taller and that way I get to enjoy the show without worrying about it. You're concerts are the only ones I've been to that I stood the entire show! We were at the far end of Ford Field (your birthday). You couldn't see anything, but everyone stood and danced the entire concert and it was a long frickin concert. Thank you for that, by the way and Happy, Happy Birthday!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!

The only time I ever shouted "Freebird" is when Lynard Skynard was your opening act at Summerfest in Milwaukee. It was the only time I ever felt it appropriate. Happy Birthday and see you in "Mad-Town" on March 20!
KRSVal's picture

I know the article shunned it, but I still think it is funny when I hear it (maybe I am easily amused lol)
Debra's picture

I just might shout "freebird" tonight at the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert!!!!! Happy Birthday!!!
RBART33's picture

Absolutely agree with all of the article and will keep all of it in mind when I see you in KC on February 2nd!!
