#6 Should be #1 - Dancing on chairs is usually not allowed as i have been asked to sit. ( I was in the back and everyone was standing!!)
TX_Cowgirl4213's picture

I have to say that i have done several of the ten and been subject to have fans around that did most of them but ON the BORN FREE tour in Albuquerque at the Pavilion all the fans around where we were seated were awesome enjoyed them all and it even helped make the concert that much better................cant wait to do it again this year..............

It would be great if the venue hosting the concert would take pics and have them posted on their site for a certain amount of days available for complementary downloads. That way maybe concert goers would depend more on the venues great pictures from their site and put their own cameras and phones away.

I do not think this article should have been called 10 Most Annoying Concert Behaviors but called 10 Things You Should Expect to Happen at a Concert. I would be the first to admit I have done all of these things listed and will continue to do some...you pay for your ticket just like the uptight person, drunk person, tall person and loud person... My pet peeve is when I go to my seat and someone is sitting in it and when you asked them to get up they act you have no right to tell them to move their stank ass!! Also- Happy early Birthday!! You have the same Birthday of my 3 year old great niece. She has such an AWESOME personality just like you.

Its a concert have fun and be nice to people around you. If you wanna sit go to the opera. Been to ford field and stood the whole time great shows. But the best concert ever was on the beach! Standing in the ocean was the best ever for this 48 year old fart!! SEE YOU ON THE BOAT MUTHERFUCKER!!!

Excellent quick read......can't agree more with the drinking so much you puke comment. Unfortunately I have been vomited on more than once at concerts. Never at any of your shows have I been told to sit down. As if!! I hope you have a fabulous birthday and I can't wait to see you again in GR and Sag in April!

Happy early Birthday Bobby! I feel like it's mine because we just got some awesome seats for the show in Saginaw!! =D

I just wish I was at a KR concert right now.

The article was great & it's so true!! It's impossible to sit at your concerts though. At the Beacon in NYC everyone around us in the balcony was sitting but I just couldn't do it! Can't wait for some dates on the east coast & I hope you have a Happy Birthday tomorrow!!!

Happy..Happy Birthday..this article is so bang on...i've experienced so many of these things during shows...i personally..am not a photo/video taker...i am too in the moment..but.. i do like it when my skilled picture/video takin friends show me the goods...lol makes for some good smiles:) hope u have a fantastic B-DAY ol man ;) XOO

I agree with article 100% - the picture taking is annoying and looking at your phone throughout the whole concert is a little weird. Recently though I went to a Bob Dylan concert and I really knew I was old when two very polite guys in there 20's turned around and said "Mam do you mind if I light this up" of course my reply was sure just share. More annoying though to me is people who sit with there arms crossed and never move.

Gotta start off with a HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. My nephew would have been 20 years old today. Just so heartbreakingly sad. Interesting article, ever since I've been going to concerts (age 13) the only ones on the list I've done is push my way to the front. However not in recent years, too damn old to fight those crowds. It's better if I can pay for the better seats and be closer. I'm sure back in the day I've yelled "Freebird" a time or two. More than likely I would have yelled "Stairway To Heaven" instead. Never told people to sit down, hey they paid for a ticket too. Only dislike it when someone puts someone on their shoulders and you can't see. Hell on talking to my friends, most often times I go to shows alone or with my son, who I will talk to by pointing out certain special things during a show(s). Bic lighters, always good until you burn the shit out of yourself. I have to say since 1981 I've gone to concerts for the pure love of the music & show. A drink or 2 is ok but to get wasted drunk, why ruin what may turn out to be a fantastic concert experience. Much friendship & LOVE to you.

Agree with your comment about putting people on your shoulders. We were in Minot this year and it was terrible. I don't mind it for one song but not the whole concert please.
littleoldwtf's picture

and NO I don't take up 2 chairs but I will need one my back is killing me here. seroiusly since deer season. ya will not see me standing the whole concert or doing a whole lot of jumping around. forgive me for it ahead of time. I wrecked my body with man's work at 12-14 when bones are growing and now I have to pay..it's ok....if anybody has a farm and kids don't make them work them bones when they are in thier growth spirt..it has its disadvantage later on in life. I had a few questions to ask you in the elevator but won't be asked with a audience, just wouldn't be approipriate and no its nothing relating to behind closed doors.but it is personal in content. SKIP a BIrthday So'z I can skip One of MINE (^.) and DIDN't book a room at the alliant for most of the reasons listed on this topic..I can walk a few steps. I don't rent a overnight room to be up ALL Night ;). I bet Audrey is pulling her hair out planning something nice for your birthday ~

I am sorry for your pain; I understand a bit from my own experience of herniated disc back pain of 12 years ago. People and insurance said quit law school and get surgery. I believe they underestimated a stubborn blonde Norwegian. Chiropractics and massage therapy heal me and massage takes the edge off when it once a month occurs. Since I heal from massage, I've learned to give from what I've received. I'd joyfully give you one to ease your pain, dear friend. Enjoy elevator raisin cookies. I hope you smile and laugh a lot today :)

well my tracfone doesn't have PIcture capabilitys...and I shut it OFF alot. now that 'someone' was gracious enough to give me a buisness grant I will have to improve on the phone im told (resistant, resistant) my business coordinator took a photo of me for the paper and Im so fat now I was like WTF...lol..she says just look at the pain in your face. I told her "could of warned me photo OP" she laughed and let me submit one pain free. I only did one of those the FREE BIRD ones...but to my defense it was summerfest and you arrived LATE and Lynrd skynrd was yer headliner or vice versa can't remember (I will never be able to spell it right sorry angel its just one of those things) its like when ya ask my sister to say orgasm..lol...I got it righthaha Dear Bobby...since I too have been around musicians my whole life I realise what they give UP and IN for thier talent. I listen to you and band not to assess your talent its more Escape. I escape into wonderful music. you could play old childrens music which BTW elliot hates...all night long and id be happy with it...I got my ass kicked for starting him out with a song..welcome to the party...drew came in and eliiot did his diddy with his butt and said daddy welcome to the Par-Tay...got the look and MOM..oh well I claiming at almost 50 going sinile...stay with me fella...OK since there are 2 negatives on the chalkboard the FANS need 2 positives...just anything if someone hands ya a cup of perfectly warmed coffee or some girl says yer hair looks pullable today..maybe sandwich slider that out to us... and * at 50 I am only going to 2 concerts a year one kidrock one country so better make it good hey.. ;) Beware of MADTOWN...there are some crazyass women there..they could sit on yer ______ and call you a ________ (^..^)
Montana Anna's picture

I cherish your humor and communication, LITTLEOLDWTF...like the bits and pieces only...of a freeing new found love of raisin cookies. Congratulations on your business grant!!! What wonderful news!!! You are definitely worth it! Somebody was a very astute investor. You are a creative artist and I wish all the best for you :) Ummm...I get the resistent phone thing. I, too, was in the same boat (how I pray), and although my phone has often proven its smarts, it was a God send for birthday gifts so I think I'll keep it and let it help me improve my smarts :) Ummm...righthaha ;) ...bits and pieces after...I love MADTOWN! I grew up just outside with years of schooling and occupations in. And...yes, I include myself as a crazyass woman from there...oh, the memories (or lack thereof). Jager and Malibu rum are off the table for me...I do have a gag reflex, especially with large, oh so flavorful it fills my mouth delights, but I will do my best if it's offered...but there's this great nobody really knows about small cheesy with tiger decor hole in the wall lounge...further disguised in a strip mall a few exits west of Maestro-ville...that Before The Next Teardrop Falls had quite a few great tequilla shots. Oh,and my Norwegian cousins love to owner-host and feed The Weary Traveler who might be looking for The Blue Marlin good fishin' spots. How I hope and pray I will get to meet you there. You rock!!!
littleoldwtf's picture

Ah a kindred spirit alas ;)I forget there are probally alot of places called Madtown they call Madison wi that too. I have some relatives that live on the beeline in Madison wis..Holls has a baby now and doesn't need a bunch of drunks stayin over hehehe...well One night in the 80's me and my older SIster MUGS decide to volunteer Mikes brother Loverboy now a successful Banker in Lacrosse to chaffer Spell checker check check * Us downtown Madison what month is Spring break I hope the concert does not fall on that or we in the chit fella bob..type in You tube" spring break in Madison Wisconsin " FYI nobody wants to be there THEN...yikes..with loverboy and Mugs and I was relatively sober and coherant until someone gave me a blue 100 (never had one since)...it was about 1 am got down there around 11..I was "Oh LOVERBOY" time to take a Kat back to a Kathowse...Mugs says quit playin were shooting darts here..Im like what a bitch...stumble back to a booth which I later drunken gazed around and figured I was alone. later they came and retrived me and I guess in my way into his new cutlass I obtained a unsolicited grab of Loverboys lil keester. Hes NEVER let me forget that Violation of his person thank got I was all of 105 pounds and adorable. THATs why this CONCERT and MADISON I had better do the thing ya know ensure for 3 days before the concert...coat that ole Kat Gut alittle ;0. I only get to be drunk and bullererant once every 10 years and I had mine this year already. more than me think someone doped my drink who gets hammered to the blind and can't see point after 3 drinks?.. but a valued lesson learned play sick or dead for the next wedding ;)
Montana Anna's picture

Sounds like a great friendship!!! I am very happy :) Love is Strange, indeed. Wouldn't mind me some of that dirty dancing with my loverboy...my sweet baby, he's the one. Tell me more about unsolicited keester grab...as good as I imagine, especially in FB pics? Check, check, you crack me the phenomenal up :) Seriously, though, how do you do spell check here...the nerd in me wants to know...really :) Most of the rest this tired blonde who got her car stuck today in the too soft, wet snow by the river (thank God for OF and the kindess of two strangers) doesn't quite get, but I love you have a language all your own. Wonder Twin powers activate...form of raisin cookies :) As it's also Betty White's birthday today, too (oh, how I giggle), I somehow remembered she was an "acerbic, man-hungry TV hostess" on a show who's theme song I'm adopting...I'm gonna make it after all. I also realized I'm a bit Mary Tyler Moore and a bit Rhoda Morgenstern...but, oh, to balance the two...no end to the funny there...welcome to my He cracks me up how He reminds me mind and laughter. He had me cryin' then laughin' at my Mary sweatin small stuff ways...even when I said I wasn't...which, I didn't lie 'cuz I didn't see how I was...oh, but He showed me and said chill out...go with the flow...we're all in this concert together. :)

Definitely funny and true. If I spend my time waiting to be up front at a GA show, you are not gonna push past me. I do take pics but not the entire show. Just a few for memories. Happy birthday to Bob and my baby boy Hayden on the 17th.

Concerts and people are so confusing to me now and especially from growing up in and around concerts, entertainment and so much! Number 10 for sure is very confusing now-days for me but you always stand for respect to the troops, etc.. or if a band is showing respect to them! I've been guilty of saying Fuck Off when being told to sit down and my kid-LOL. Hate the video phones, etc.. makes it hard to enjoy the show-I miss the lighters for when a special song, respect or for encore. I miss the band being able to interact with the fans cause the people have gotten so crazy!!! With this all being said it also depends on the show and bands cause kids love the mosh pits and those shows as well and I did them too when I was young so it just depends !!! But for the most part this article is pretty good and true!!!
Margo C's picture

Totally agree with all of them. I can't stand the seat jumpers, shoving their way closer...I pay damn good money for my seat, I'm not sharing it with some stupid bitch! I have taken photos in the past which most of the time turn out like shit so I've stopped trying. I do take some video if I'm close enough, but not the whole show, just a few songs. I'm surprised there wasn't a complaint about people screaming woohoo in your ear all night. I'm personally trying to stop doing that lol my husband doesn't think I can stop :/
RockRehab's picture

People gonna do their thing!! I still love a good concert, a little push or shove but no camera or videos. i like the bic lighters myself!
Duke'sHilltopHouseHonolulu's picture

I think it's great to see you address the Rebel Souldiers and ask our opinion. One of these days you will anwser some of those fans that are reaching out to you and you will reach a whole new level of Stardom. A Star that not only cares from behind the scenes but who writes back to some of his most loyal fans who write to you sometimes daily just hoping that one day they will open up the Kid Rock site and see a personal message from their H E R O. You think your successful now. Write one letter back, not to me, but to someone who has been contacting you for years and see how things go. PIck one Rebel Soldier and send em a personal note and make yourself seem at least reachable....Look out world!!!
Beckxy's picture

to me he has reached out to some of his loyal fans... but not in the sense of maybe someone asking for direct help or a write back but maybe seeing someone down on their luck... and showing that he cares in his own special Kid Rock way.. he does care :) My HERO, for real!! I agree.. it was nice to not only see a post asking for our opinion but getting folks rev'd up for the upcoming shows... much love to the Kid Rock and Twisted Brown Trucker !!

Totally agree!! #1 Fan!!!! Ann Williams

I have been to alot of concerts and all of the things mentioned in the article have happened to me, including the "heat seeking missile" from the post below! lol! BUT, i have been to MANY of your shows, Kid, in the last few years, and have found the ppl at your shows to be the greatest of ppl! They are all considerate, (I am short and small need to stand) and great ppl to party with.."Aint no party like a Kid Rock Party" Its true! Cant wait to see you again this summer! Rock On!

Good Morning :-) You have the best sense of humour!!!!! Thanks for sharing this article--I laughed my ass off!!!!! Everyone of those are TRUE!!!!!!! ~Lol :-) There's a few more I thought of--lol :-) #11. If you are a chic---inevitably---some (usually drunk) asshole will find you like a heat seeking missile--and try to talk to you the entire show and keep asking for your "digits". ~Go away asshole!!!! ~Lol :-) #12. People who you watched arrive 30 seconds before you at a general admission show---inform you that they are "saving" spots for 20 of their best friends. ~ASSHOLES!!!!!!!!! ~Lol :-) And #13. People who "Fire It Up" and don't share!!!!!!!! ~Just kidding about that one---but I thought it deserved an "honorable mention" ~tee-hee :-) Thanks again for sharing this Bob :-) You Always Are The Very Best :-) Happy Early Birthday :-)
