Kid Rock signed up to be a DJ at Passions night club after the concert held at Hard Rock on NYEve...when the event was first announced, the club posted tickets and bottle prices on their website.
Originally the prices were $75 for a GA ticket and $600 for a bottle price which included a table for 4 people, 2 bottles of liquor and 1 bottle of champagne.
6 people reserved tables, 6 (x4 or more) people who are coming from ALL over the United States for this event.
Then all of a sudden we received word the price was going up, after we were already told one price and reserved under that amount.
Now the price has only gone up $11 per person, but the amount of bottled liquor and champagne has been reduced.
Although I am still in for event for now, several people have now dropped out because of the way it was handled by the nightclub. We are not locals, we are coming in from all over the country because we are big fans and the venue thinks they can just rip us off.
I am sending this to the venue, but I am hoping word gets to Bob about what the hell happened and what went down because it was just wrong -
LeeAnn
I must say I'm highly disappointed with how this went down. Your public website indicated a bottle package Of $600 plus tax and tip of course now it has been updated to reflect different pricing. I took a screenshot of the original pricing when the group got word something was up.
That bottle package also indicated 2 bottles of liquor and 1 bottle of champagne per 4 people. I'm not a math wiz but the offer now quoted us is much lower than that for 36 people.
I am at this point still in with my group, however, I will be posting the fact that we were cheated by your nightclub. If in fact you made the mistake I highly doubt because those prices were publicly available on your website, then the club should be more accommodating to the group...we are not locals...we are traveling from all over the country for this event and already spending alot of money.
I would at this point not worry about a table but due to a health issue I have to be able to sit and not run the risk of getting bumped or hit in the stomach.
I know you have been talking to Patty and we are working hard on getting the 36. Two large groups have dropped out and who can blame them...how this all went down was very bad business. Honestly something the BBB and your local Chamber of Commerce should know about...but right now I am content on making sure our host, Kid Rock, sees how his fans were jacked around.
In the end the club should honor our original pricing with the same amount of liquor. We were told we would be sitting in a certain spot which seems you have honored. I think at this point if the club went back to the original amount of liquor per every 4 we might get some people back in. Right now Hard Rock and Passions have left a bad taste in their mouth.
Thank you, Sonia Woolf
I think the key word here is
I think the key word here is expectations. As from what Blue said.. I dunno how many countless folks I've seen over the past years come out very disappointed about a club who promotes Kid Rock as a host for the night.. which from my experience doesn't mean he's even going to spin.. just means he may be there for a bit. I think the one that I learned from was back in 2004.. a guy that posted regularly at kraa set his heart to fly out to Chicago to the House of Blues.. where a club reported that Bob was gonna host. The guy spent tons of money, air flight, hotel.. only to come back home and be disappointed because there was no Kid Rock. I thought what a bummer for this dude... I would have been devastated.
Instantly, I became aware that anything not posted on the official site or tour dates.. that I shouldn't expect a whole bunch because if you think about it.. what counts are the shows that are posted on this official site... and Kid Rock has never been a no show jones.
Since then, after reading about those clubs that promote Kid Rock as a host... If I decide to go to one of those... I go into it without any expectations with the exception of hanging out with friends, dancing, having a drink, and having a good time with everybody... nothing more.
Again... sorry to hear that this didn't go well for you.... surely hope that there's better days to come for you and that it don't deter you from going to shows... besides being aside of friends at a show is what it's all about.
This is from my local newspaper today.... my husband read your post and then saw this in the newspaper...

Well said Beckxy,.thanks and
Well said Beckxy,.thanks and I agree if its not on KID ROCK'S HOME PAGE I would seriously evaluate,...and I stress the Home Page part
Thanks Beckxy, but it was
Thanks Beckxy, but it was advertised that he would be doing a DJ set. He told people he didn't "feel like it." It said more than he was hosting. He was paid, but even if he broke the contract, the money is nothing to him, he can pay the club back. But those of us that spent $200 per person are out our money. I learned a lesson and it will NEVER happen again.
Aww girl that sucks... I
Aww girl that sucks... I truly have to wonder if the club didn't commit to their end of the contract... like maybe even raising the prices on you guys could of made him feel like not doing it... idk. I know the guy cares deeply that his fans don't get ripped, ya know. Geez.. so they charged 200 bucks to just get into the club ~ that's crazy shit right there.
Well said, Sonia!!!
Well said, Sonia!!!

So I can't edit my post...This message is to KID ROCK. Did you know that 40 fans came together and paid this huge amount of money to watch you perform at Passions? I really hope not. I would not believe that you would fail to come down because "you didn't feel like it."
I was appalled that I paid $200 bucks to stand there for 3.5 hours to go deaf b/c that's all I got out of it. Since having surgery a few weeks before I still could not drink so that was out for me...I was there to see you spin the turntables, come down and host a party whatever, some of the people in the group were given an extra "VIP" bracelet so they could go upstairs and watch you sit on the couch.
I don't know if it was you or the club, either way, 40 people were let down...I wouldn't have spent that money if I had known even after an hour you weren't coming down...clubs are not my thing. I could have used that for the upcoming tour. And to see the disappointed faces of those standing in our area...having to fight off young punks and drunk assholes all night was not idea of fun. I for one had a terrible time, the only thing that made it better was the company of my friends, but that we could have done on the balcony at the hotel....for ALOT cheaper.
You are always saying how much you love when we spend our "hard earned money" on coming to see you. In this case we did, but you didn't deliver. I am so disappointed in you.
This may seem bitchy and it was meant to, I want you to see our point. I am still a fan but I will be more careful as to how I waste my money...
Feel so sorry for all of you
Feel so sorry for all of you who tried the VIP route. Bob reads here, so hopefully, improvements will be made. Historically this type of thing is a mess. Heard stories from countless peep who pay expecting promises to be fulfilled, and just end up layers away in security tape while the star is hidden away in a little private booth, within the private area. At least you folks got to see him do a little scratching, but, all and all I can still see why you are disappointed.
Actually he never came down
Actually he never came down to run the turntables. That was what was advertised. He didn't deliver. It was heartbreaking to see a few people who came from the midwest.
ALL and ALL - first the club
ALL and ALL - first the club gouging us, making promises that didn't happen...and not getting what we paid for...I will not do this again.
Oh, heck ya, first and
Oh, heck ya, first and foremost is the club, and the revised costs, etc. But the whole celeb after nite club deal could be worked on too, and it is so disappointing for folks who expect something that never happens.
Well I was there from Canada
Well I was there from Canada as you know and we did pay the $400 to go to the Passions nightclub to see Kid DJ and we did pay to be up close but as it turns out, we couldn't attend because my guy wasn't feeling well! I'm not surprised of how it went down though with the Passions club as I heard on the plane trip down from another huge KR fan that she had signed up for a similar type of after party DJ thing and Kid only came out and dj'd two songs. I was then thinking that this would be the same type of event at Passions. I do feel that we all did get ripped off by the club though! First of all they advertised it like Kid Rock was going to dj a whole set and he didn't! They told me personally by way of phone call that we'd be sitting only a few feet away from him when he was djing! Anyway, in hindsight, if my pratical and logical way of thinking kicked in when this venue thing was first announced (instead of getting more excited about my New Years Eve seeing Kid in Concert), my practical brain would have said...'Hmmm, it's New Years Eve, he's just played 2 nights in a row, he'll have Audrey and his family with him and friends as well..hmmm, why on earth would he want to dj in some 'crappy music playing posh club???" and I would've decided against spending all that money! But as usual with Kid Rock on my brain, all logic went out the window, lol! Anyway, I'm sure it's the Passions that misrepresented the whole deal and that maybe Kid just said he'd show up for a drink or two. I know next time something like this comes up...I will just say "No" and go on loving his concerts and music!
We all live and learn and this has been a learning experience! I just hate that it cost us all 200 bucks each to learn it!!!
So I can't edit my post..

Would sure appreciate a
Would sure appreciate a review from the folks who went to one or both shows....what did you think of the new stuff?
I was at the New Years show
I was at the New Years show and it was great!!!! Love all of the songs he played. He played some off the new cd and then also threw in some old stuff too..."got one for ya", loved it! and some from everything in between! He and the TBT band were right on, lots of energy and lots of fun! The only thing I did not like as I've never experienced it before at any of the many KR concerts that I've attended is that people were actually sitting in their seats for the whole show!!! Truly NOT KR fans and we couldn't believe that people could sit and not be up dancing and partying to his music! My advice to Kid is to never play Casino venues as I think a lot of those tickets were "comped" and some people only went because the tickets were given to them for free!
I travelled from Canada to ring in the New Year with Kid and I was happy that I did!
After how things turned out
After how things turned out at Passions, we should have all jumped ship!!!
Bump, lol. Sonia and others,
Bump, lol. Sonia and others, how did this situation end up resolved? Did you cancel the get together?
Shit like this happens but
Shit like this happens but dayum....REALLY?!?? My room is safe. I just want our spot at Passions!!!!
Of course now we have learned
Of course now we have learned the rooms we blocked at the Crowne in Ft. Lauderdale were never really blocked and thus some people could be out their rooms! This trip has turned into a fucking nightmare.
Great letter Sonia.
Great letter Sonia. Ridiculous, really. Hope you get some results.
Thanks Blue! I just don't
Thanks Blue! I just don't believe in someone publishing one price then when a bunch of us start booking they realize there is some money to be had here and jack up the prices. Honor the original price of $600 per table of 4...period.
I too am highly dissatisfied
I too am highly dissatisfied with the way this has been handled. We have so many people coming in from all over the US of A (including Texas, New York, Detroit, Virginia, Indiana, Alabama and other states) as well as Canada. We are true hardcore Kid Rock fans that want to ring in the New Year with him and just want to have a good time. We are already spending A LOT of money for concert tickets, airline tickets, hotels, rental cars etc...I want to do this sooo bad but for them to raise the price on us and decrease the liquor bottle count from 18 to 10 and the Champagne from 9 to 4 is just so unethical (I want my alcohol damnit...LOL) But seriously, with the cruise coming up, every penny counts right now!
