    preparty and alcohol
chop shop says (09 Jan '13)

I emailed sixthman about what time the boat was going to start letting people on for the preparty. The only they could tell me at this time was to be at the port no later than 3:00pm the day of the preparty. I asked about alcohol. NO ALCOHOL AS CARRY ON. You are allowed to bring up to a 24 pack of water. I'm just relaying what the guy at sixthman who emailed me back said. Just a FYI.

Thanks for the info Margo and K8.
K8: I thought we could sleep in after the preparty. I don't think we have to redo security but if you find out anything different, please post. Thanks.

Ship policy is one bottle of wine or champagne in carry on for each passenger, up to a magnum. If I have to board and go through port security twice, I'm cancelling pre party.

Got an answer about wine on Facebook from Sixthman:
Sixthman Natalie: you can bring water or red bull on with you as long as it is not opened, I wouldn't bring more than a 12 pack. You can bring bottles of wine but you will be charged a $15 corkage fee per bottle even if you do not drink it on board.

Hmm...then my $4 Aldi's wine would cost me $19 lol

Here's their response:
Hi Margo,

Boarding for the pre-party will be from noon-8pm ET, I would suggest you are on board by 7:30pm ET

Best,
Natalie

She didn't answer my question about the wine/champagne though :/ I think the husband & I are screwed, not gonna do the rum runners or sneak it on any other way...pain in the ass. Thankfully it's tax return check time soon $$$

Hey Chop, I put in a question to Sixthman about when can we start boarding for preparty & also asked if we can bring on 1 bottle of wine or champagne per person. I'll let ya know what I hear back.

I'm glad we switched our flight to an earlier time.

I know--I hate worrying about meeting deadlines. I will be one tired pup though.

All I know was he said no carry on alcohol. Someone else email them and see what you get for a response.

You have to purchase these bottles from them when you get on the ship.

Someone said it was possible to purchase large bottles of booze from Sixthman only to use in your room. You might want to call them and check on the specifics. You can bet whichever you choose will not be at discount prices.

I remember when Cheryl and I were trying to figure out flights on the 5th also, and we were told to get there as late as 6 or 7 pm---maybe they keep changing things? We have the earlier flight now, but would be nice to know this stuff for sure...

Someone on Facebook posted their live chat that they had with Sixthman, they said you can start boarding at noon on the 5th. As for the alcohol I've read you can carry on 1 bottle of wine or champagne per person on Norwegian cruise lines, but I'm not sure with this being chartered by Sixthman maybe it's different?

This is what I was told from sixthman. From a guy named bear. Where do you all see that you can take alcohol.he just told me that on the 9th of Jan.
