Kid Rock explains in new movie called "$ellebrity" how difficult it can be to do with the paparazzi.

Associated Press DETROIT, MI - A new documentary is out called "$ellebrity" that features plenty of colorful commentary from Kid Rock.
Rock explains in entertaining fashion the run-ins he's had with the paparazzi in this inside look at the nature of selling fame through photos.

Rock's take on the kinds of photographers out there (comments seen 6 minutes, 22 seconds into the film):

"Photographers … the difference in photographers," Rock said. "Well, I guess there’s three kinds: you got the guys that you regularly see on the scene ... guys I admire; you see them at the shows and you kind of become friends with them. They’re not looking for a bad shot, they’re looking for something interesting. Cool, no problem. Then you got the stalkerazzis, you know; they’ll go through anything to get a shot.

They’ll sit there like they are eating lunch with a bag (that has) a big camera in it, and then they’ll whip it out on you in a moment’s notice. And then some of the worst offenders are just the creepos with the cell phones. They’re acting like they’re looking for a number, you know.

"I’m buying a Boca Burger, which I don’t want anyone to know about, you know what I mean? (tough guy voice) I eat steak, meat, I’m a badass. Then I’m in the Boca Burger section like (gasp!, expletive). You know? Something like that. Those people suck!"

The more than 90-minute movie, according to its website, will hit select theaters on Friday, including Royal Oak's Emagine Theater. It's currently available for purchase or 24-hour rent on iTunes.

More interesting thoughts from Kid Rock about the paparazzi in the film, pertaining to what photographers often do to try and get a rise out of him:

"There’s a price to fame. Are you willing to pay it?""They usually bring up ex-girlfriends, ex-wives, bring up stuff about Pam (Anderson)," he explained. "There’s really not too much they can say to get my goat; it’s more invading your space and getting in your face. It’s like ‘Wait a minute, I don’t know you, dude.’ You’re going to come at me and try to get a reaction? (he smacks hands) There’s my reaction. We’re all good."

If you check out the film, let me know what you think about it in our comments section.

A good portion of the film has to do with celebrities complaining about the paparazzi, but Kid Rock appears to be one of the only famous people in it willing to admit he must deal with the fame he worked so hard to pursue.

"I kind of asked for this life and kind of knew (dealing with paparazzi) this is part of it; that it comes with it," he said. "But, the same way, the magazines make money from me. You know, they get the word out that I have a record out there at put me in some light that hopefully shines and people connect to it and make them want to hear my record.

"There’s a price to fame. Are you willing to pay it?"

Elton John is also featured in the film and made attention-getting comments that had to do with what he claims are photographers' obsession with seeing celebrities fall - and fall hard.

"They kind of want Lindsay Lohan to melt down in public so they got their photograph," he said. "And you know, half the time she gives them the thing they want, and it’s very sad because this girl was a good actress; she had talent; she made records.

"And now she’s kind of become their toy. It's frightening."

Yep, but remember, these folks are selling image, brand, product, and talent and building a business in a fame media based world. If you cannot be yourself because of the implications of image or fame, then how can you sleep in your skin, grow old, have successful relationships or look it the mirror? The whole appeal of this "off the record stuff reports" is that it's more real than the Rolling Stone interview releasing the new product. Oh, he has a temper, or, is piss drunk or clueless, or what have you. There it is, you have the video, the print.....for the fan's future reflection at any time. One of the first things advised in any of these fields is to take acting classes, so you can gauge your reaction or read that of others, and/or get the best PR team you can. Think the thing that sends most down the tube fastest is that they struggle with issues they do not want "public." But, that was the first choice they made, though, perhaps too young to fully understand when that deal with the devil was made.

I am guilty. At concerts i take many photos. I like to get good pics so i can write show reviews. Always chasing down setlists. I like to take pics of all the different costume/clothes changes. I am a freak about. I just know i am gonna miss the perfect pic. I turn the flash off so they aren't blinded, but it still has a green light that points out. Kind of annoying really. Wish that was gone too....

If i saw KR in public would i take a pic? Maybe. Depends on the situation. Am i gonna go up while he is eating or doing something that he wants to do. More then likely not. I am pretty mannerly. I ask ppl like that if it is okay if i take their pic. Honestly i would like to get a pic of me with them. NOT to plaster up anywhere but for my book of memories for myself. I got a lot of them to this point. Also like to get something signed. Most times it is a favorite album or maybe a Rolling Stone. MY collectibles have never seen EBAY. To get them you would have to steal them! I have a FOID card and that isn't advisable. Come in my place and see how i feel about gun control is all i will say....

Agree, but if there is one problem with being internet dependent, it's that the history never goes away, and it's at your fingertips.
