    What happened to being "real". Devil without a Cause, History of Rock, and Cocky, hell even rock and roll Jesus was great compared to this album. I feel that you have went too soft as of late. ( the last two albums Born Free and Rebel Soul especially). My favorite song of all time is Cocky. Where is the Cocky Kid Rock? Kid Rock has a quote that says If it looks good, you'll see it. If it sounds good, you'll hear it. If its marketed right, you'll buy it. But... If its real... you'll feel it.

    THAT'S THE PROBLEM--THESE LAST TWO ALBUM'S ARE NOT REAL!!! I DON'T FEEL IT ANYMORE!

    Let me add one more thing, I get it that you have to change your music as you get older, you can't run around talking about hookers, drugs, and sex but darn it please try to give us something "real" Kid.

IMO, he seems happy and his music reflects that. Do I love the new cd? Not sure yet. I haven't listened to it enough to say. I haven't listened to a lot of anything lately. Born Free has its place for me...on a quiet night. I do find Cucci Galore amusing. I appreciate that he plays his old stuff at the concerts. Nothing worse than going to see your favorite artist wanting to hear your favorite song and all they play is the new music. What I love about Kid and his band is how diverse the music is.

I don't understand how you can say his music is not real. Just because you haven't liked the changes in his music as he grows & changes doesn't mean it isn't real to him or his fans. I liken it to a relationship with a person in your life, sometimes you grow apart, don't have things in common anymore, you go your separate ways....listen to his old stuff you like...or move on. And who knows maybe down the line he'll make make an album that's more to your liking....ok, that was deep, could be the 3 beers I had talking lol ;) btw Born Free was not my fav, but I didn't give up & am very impressed with Rebel Soul, hasn't left my CD player since the day the CD came out.

There are some Kid Rock songs that just never get old - Cowboy, American BadAss, Cocky, Only God Knows Why, Cold and Empty, Black Bob (love that one, guess I've always loved my long haired bad boys), All Summer Long (that was SO my teenage years here in Michigan) and Born Free (that song has very special meaning to me) . I love how he has evolved as an artist. The man can play any instrument and he writes from his soul and his experiences. I am not the same person I was 10 yrs ago (that's a good thing) and neither is Kid Rock (and that's a good thing) I think Rebel Soul is a mix of many styles of music. Some I just want to crank up and sing in my best "car voice" to(Rebel Soul, Redneck Paradise, Let's Ride); others make me want to get up and dance (Cucci Galore, Chicken in the Pen,Celebrate, Happy New Year), others to reflect a little bit on (Midnight Ferry, Cocaine and Gin) I have a Kid Rock CD/song for every mood. That's the beauty of Kid Rock (oh well, if we are talking beauty there is also the hair and abs too! LOL)

Artists change based upon their experiences and influences. KR is in a different place now than he was during the 'Cocky' era (I know y'all know this..) I like the old stuff AND the new stuff-- the new stuff is just different. I'm not the same person I was in 2001, are you? And I don't do the same things I did then, either. Besides, he did give us 'Cucci Galore'--that's pretty BadAss if you ask me ;)
...and it is real for him and for many of us. I like the mix of genres, that is what has always set KR/TBTs apart from a narrow music category definition.
