I'm a member here......why do I NEVER receive pre sale email information?? My email is correct...??? Hmmm. Help, lookin for a presage code for Detroit show....
Someone mentioned earlier regarding making a donation to the Foundation, however, saw on the page that they are currently not accepting donations.
I, too, was bummed as I was hoping to make a small donation also..... but to my surprise, I may have stumbled on a way to still be able to donate. I was checking out the new things at the official Kid Rock store and thought, 'lemme go check out the MID store to see what they have'. And there are a ton of different shirts that are being made for proceeds to go to the foundation. All of the MID artist shirts are like Bob Segers, Kid Rocks, and Eminem's... and then there is Wayne State's shirt for proceeds to go towards someone's music scholarship... and they also still have the Rosie shirts available. Lots of great stuff over there... they even have MID Christmas balls..lol. I think it's really nice that we can still give money towards the Foundation, and yet, get a nice t-shirt in return... what a guy :) www.madeindetroit.com

Also, all the merchandize in certain categories donates to KRF. Like Bex said, it's a great gift, MID clothing wears like iron.

Thanks Angel, Beckxy & Blue.
Thanks Angel, Beckxy & Blue. I appreciate the support both for me personally and for the East Coast areas that were hit hard. I've decided to ignore the troll, and he must be a troll because anyone who is from NJ would have been well aware of the benefit that went on last night.
And since I'm here, I'll actually try and answer Beckxy's original post. I have no working knowledge of KR's Foundation, but in general terms private Foundations often don't accept donations. Foundations are in the business of giving money out and are usually set up with some endowment (from family money, a rich person, that kinda thing) that throws off enough interest that the interest is given out to other organizations that do good works, usually some kind of non-profit. Non-profit organizations have a system in place to use money for programs to help people.
For legal reasons to accept money under the guise of a charitable contributions requires a certain level of administrative work & record keeping. It cost money to do that. Foundations do not want to spend more money than they have to on administrative expenses, they want to give money out to an organization that already has the program in place. Many private foundations (and KR's Foundation has stated this on this website in the past) do not have any paid salary employees. they don't want to use money to pay an employee to deal with more admin work. Do you see what I'm saying?
so. Maybe KR's foundation will get back to a point where they may take donations (did they ever?). But another suggestion is to go through the list of places that the Foundation gives money to and give money to those organizations. those are the organizations that ultimately need the money, that KR wants to fund, and that are set up to do good work that will help whatever folks need help. Just a thought. :)
big learning process for me
big learning process for me too, thank you for explaining, Jade.. makes a ton of sense. To answer your question, did they ever? There was an address on the site last year around this time. I sent a small donation by check and it was accepted.
Fair enough, I am happy to buy a few shirts from MID knowing it's going to the foundation and then find a wonderful place for the rest of it. Thanks Jade
Thanks for the information,.I
Thanks for the information,.I was unawear of such things untill you mentioned it.
have to come back to this
have to come back to this later.. trying to wind down now from a crucial exam plus get ready for work... but I must express that Jade is a wonderful, well-educated beautiful soul... and I would never doubt any charitable org that she presents. I also have to mention that coming on here and writing in these posts can be awfully confusing.. as we all have certain ways of how we get points across and express ourselves.... hard to show that tough and confident Jersey side or Brooklyn side that I'm well aware of coming from neighboring PA without sounding mean and cold hearted. Working at a hotel, People come in from other parts of the country and they express that they don't understand the body language and how we speak, and have a tendancy to think that people are nasty and mean over here...lol I've learned to 'get it' because I live over here and know how people communicate... it's like watching the movie GoodFellas on repeat..haha. But in all that's fair in love and war, I get that you all mean well :)
Bex, not positive, but it
Bex, not positive, but it seems like based on the two news articles he posted recently (the marching band title followed by the whoops) it is trying to take the Foundation in a new direction, which is why I am speculating the contrib section for it is closed.
Jade, thanks for posting a link to a relief effort that will do some good for those poor lives shattered by flooding during Sandy on the East Coast. My hometown beach front got ripped up pretty good, but that was nothing compared to what happened to folks in NYC and Jersey.
As soon as the Jan deposit comes in, I will be making a donation.
I understand what your saying
I understand what your saying coldnempty,.will do,.and I might as well add be carfully and wathchful of who you disclore credit information too,.or they may "accidenlty" slide another payment in.

I am not running an org involved, I'm asking people who are looking for places to money to charity to take a look at helping out Sandy victims. the money doesn't go to me, you go directly through the org that was set up. instead of jumping all over me, why don't you go take a look if NJ is so important to you.
asshole.
What happened? I need to find
What happened? I need to find out where my money is going then because I donated 1000 to be given out over the year. Huh anyone have the inside?

Hey folks,
Hey folks,
if anyone has any extra money right now that the want to give to charity, please consider donating to an organization that is helping the victims of Sandy. My city had massive damage, as did much of NJ, Upstate NY & CT. tons of people lost their homes and everything they owned.
There is a concert benefit going on tonight here in NYC, and they're talking donations by phone at 1-855-465-HELP or #121212concert
thanks~
