    CMT "SuperFans"
    bluesuedeshoe says (09 Dec '12)

One of the sweetest things I think I've seen in music happened at the awards show. Interspersed with the chatter and music, they put up shots of "superfans" who have patronized the Country Music industry.

Fans catch a lot of crap, but with without us, noooooooo mola, LOL! Nice to see respect paid back. Bob's pretty good at this, Bex and Gene being a primary.

Are you a Bob SuperFan? Why?

More--Superfans are any of us that feel so inspired by KR/TBT as to want to do something more--I am thinking of KRLL and similar groups who have gone above and beyond to help their fellow fans because the connection they have made with others through the music has motivated them to help someone else....

Beckxy's picture

I second that emotion.. good point

I think what makes someone a SUPERFAN is someone who BELIEVES so strongly in what an artist is doing and only wants to see the artist succeed by a way of showing support, dedication, and promotion - and then there's just down-right lovin a music man and band..haha. When I was a teen, I revolved my life around music and friends to get through some tough times. It just seemed so right coming from parents who loved old time rock n roll (golden oldies) and old outlaw country music; I come from a house that rocked a lot of good music. My friends' likes in music sorta differed into a one-sided categories... on one side the tracks I had my rock n roll / metal head friends and on the other side I had my good timing hip-hop lovin friends. Back in the late 80's, you seldom heard of an artist taking on diversity in his or her music with perhaps the exception of Aerosmith and Run DMC or Anthrax... infusing hip-hop and rock n roll. I remember having the thought back then, "Man, wouldn't it be great if someone would come out and infuse all these different old and new sounds in today's music because after all... rock n roll was made from country, rhythm and blues.. so it could be done and it would be great!" So, after seeing reverb on HBO back in 1998/99... my musical thoughts of yesterday seemed to take it's place by the way of one, Kid Rock, and that's why, I'll forever be the Kid Rock and TBT Superfan :)

~~Now making it a family tradition by way of shows, cruises, pre-parties, tailgates, and happy ending early morning stoned drunk breakfasts with friends you met along the way is a whole other topic of explanation.. yet needs to be added here. And to this very day, we revolve our life around good music and great friends ~ We have enjoyed it through and through.~

Happy ending? (snicker)

I like news and discussion, but, I am not into it as deeply as some others, so I wouldn't put myself in that category. Not a money spender either, except for the basics. More of a patron, supporting a great live band category, lol.

KRSVal's picture

Oh hell. It's not about the money, and yes, you are a Superfan..you have been here for a long time, share knowledge, and you have done the many shows per tour in the past, regardless...so you stop Ms. J!
Ps Aren't Blue suede shoes mentioned a couple times on the new album? just sayin'

bluesuedeshoe's picture

Yep, I am sure that song was written just for me. ROFL!

Sure agree with everyones choices, think also KidRockAngel exemplifies the true superfan...she supports AND publicizes information whenever she can, so I am sure she is responsible for bringing many fans into the fold.

You and KRA provide lots and lots of Support,.thanks

What a great idea---put Cheryl Logansgram on Kid's list along with all those named below in this post and Angel, Jade, Val, Cedars, Margo, JustBecause, Chop, 420...

Bob knows who has been at his shows if he see's ya ALL THE TIME.So he knows who is High on the dedication list BEX and GENE.

Beckxy's picture

lol how ya doing there old friend.... it's times like these that makes me pull my hair outta my head wishing I could get to a show (that is on the tour list), yet I know it's not financially possible. Thought to myself.. "hmmm.. SC is only 10 hours away and it's on a Saturday (God bless Saturday).. but daam girl don't do it.. just wait til he comes around" ~hardest thing I had to say no to in a long time..lol~ I just remember what someone told me once.. "Don't worry, he'll be back around again" :)~

I think (cuz I looked the word super up) it means,.Exceeds customary norms. Example, I was in detroit and this crowed was gathered. I asked a young lady "What's going on"? she repliyed Im waiting for for my piture to be retuned that Im having Kid Rock sign,.....humm A super fan woundnt do that at least not this super fan,.I might however give him a signed piture of me,.

KRSVal's picture

Love it, Shirlee!!
Yep..that truly defines a superfan--one who wouldn't in a million years infringe on the man's or the band's privacy, but who would of course welcome them with open arms to whatever shindig they would have, or to have a drink, or to share a laugh.

Outside The Box's picture

You go girl-lol!!! :)

bluesuedeshoe's picture

Don't need to name names, what defines a superfan?

KRSVal's picture

I think if you travel around the country, or even to other states to see KR/TBT during a tour, you're probably a superfan...Or if you are lucky to live in Michigan, and you hit every show offered there, then start looking for ones within a reasonable driving distance, like Canada or Ohio...Superfan. If you use all of your free flight miles to get to KR/TBT shows..If you check the website multiple times during the day-Superfan (or maybe you are just home too much-lol)...if you troll ebay for KR/TBT vintage tee shirts or creative KR/TBT stuff...or make your friends KR necklaces, pins, etc. If you know all of the words to all of the lyrics, if you call other fans up to talk about KR/TBT...
If you hit all of the KR/TBT-related websites...Now I'm kind of worried--lolol

1bbshirlee's picture

Now that you mentioned it,.Yes that was a great Ideal. It showed apprication and respect for the fan by giving them the oppertunity to speake.
Of courese Im a super fan,.Kid Rocks Awesome.

bluesuedeshoe's picture

Agree with all, caught that show. Amazing.

Beckxy's picture
