    Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Holiday and get something off my chest (as you all probably know Im not a big blogger! But I do read my website and myspace page when I have time, and thank you for all the kind words and shout outs!).

    I headed to Europe last Friday for a small tour and then am most likely going back to the Middle East to entertain our troops for the holidays (again!) I'd be lying if I didn't mention its kind of bittersweet due to the fact that I petitioned the judge (Alvin T. Wong, Dekalb County, Georgia) in my "Waffle House" case so that the 80 hours of community service he sentenced me to would be served by my holiday trip to entertain our troops (for my 3rd Christmas and 4th time!). Apparently he thinks it's more important that I do something else rather than sing, shake hands, take pictures and spend time with the men and women who put themselves in harms way to protect the very freedoms he and all of us live by. I really take it as a slap in the face, and really have trouble thinking of a better way to "serve the community," especially at Christmas time when it's obviously the hardest time for soldiers to be away from their families and home (and I try not to think about it when Im there, but its a little freaky being in the middle of a war zone!). Its not that I dont take responsibility for my actions, because I do, and I have, in more ways than one. The case got so much press (a lot of it very silly press) that I decided before I even went to court that I would have a fundraiser at a local Georgia Waffle House and donate the money to a local Dekalb County homeless shelter that helps families get back on their feet (we raised close to 20 thousand dollars for that shelter).

    I figured I would use the opportunity to turn a negative into a positive (The judge didn't seem to care to much about that either, but whatever, that wasn't about anything other than using the media BACK to do some good!). Im sure a lot of you will comment on this and in a weird way it will make me feel a little better, but either way this judge will leave a bad taste of ignorance in my mouth, but I dont let even the DEVIL get me down so, WHATEVA!! Well, thats my rant, I hope Im doing the right thing by sharing my feelings (I'm usually better at it on a song!!). So in ending I would just like to wish all of you, my friends, a happy holiday season. Thank you for all your support, I truly appreciate each and every one of you! God Bless!

Hello Mr. Kid Rock I think your awesome. Wow I have been reading the comments your recieveing from your blog on the Wafflehouse incident. You know I think for you to sing /perform for the troops is great. Until we actually live in those men and womans shoes during war time we have no idea of what their feeling( especially at Christmas ) I think it is fulfilling your community hours. We cannot compare picking up garbage to performing for people that our keeping us safe., because if it wasn't for our troops we would not be writing on a computer freely. I also know that being a musican is not easy . Getting into the music industry is hard as anything . I'm so inspired by the natural talent Kid Rock you have and many others (Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash etc,etc) so for someone to put you down the way they did ( You KNOW WHO YOU ARE)!!!! is so maddening, Everything in the music industry does not come a silver platter. These musicans work damn hard to get where they are. I play guitar not very well yet and love singing and it's hard. Kid Rock for you to want to sing for our troops it' s great and very uplifting for them it gives them a little of heaven for a short time. Some day I hope I'll see you perform Kid Rock mybe meet you. I can't afford all the things that a lot of people can. I'm a 52 yr old married with 4 wonderful kids and 4 great grand-kids his mine and ours. We have a Sch-Noodle name Coconut's 6 yrs old and I'd do anything to get her eye's fixed she is 99% blind from Cataracts and the specialist said it would cost 4 thousand dollars a couple of yrs ago to get her to see again. I've been on disability and work comp for 7 yrs and the only reason I haven't gotten my settlement (which isn't going to be much) is because 2 yrs ago I quit breathing and was expected to die so w..c. waited to see if I would die so they wouldn't have to pay, how sick is that? I" 'm still suffering iron in my back pain all the time having to drive a 1992 car hoping it's not gonna give out and rent a home but at least I have a roof over our head. I just wish there was a charity for animals. Hope you get to read this I try to buy your cd's I do have 1. Thanks Stacey

I keep saying...Kid Rock for President! He knows how to get the economy moving! Thanks to the best entertainer in any business!!! See you at the show! Thanks for setting the prices so even I, who is on social security can afford it. Went to the Saginaw show on Friday and was already feeling the need for another fix. My daughter (37), granddaughter(16), and I (66) make it a 3 generation outing.) Keep on doing what you do. It's appreciated more than you can ever imagine. God's blessings on you and those you love.

Dude, I wish I could sing. It must feel so good to let it all out. Most of us are stuck trying to say it and no one listens anyway. My opinion of local laws in general is not great. Seems like a money scheme for the most part. You know the good you do. If a person can look at themself in the mirror at the end of the day and feel they did their best, thats all that truly matters.

i think the judge knows you're a good man, but believes your punishment should be doing something you wouldn't otherwise be doing. You do help the troops a lot, and you'd be doing that even if you didn't have to do community service and that's why the judge doesn't think of it as punishment. don't worry...i'm pretty sure the judge isn't the devil. ;)

Thanks for all the great things you do for your troops. They are forgotten by so many, and we don't tell them enough how much they mean to us. What a crying shame the judge wouldn't let you go spread some happiness to them when they are deployed! America needs to get back to its roots, love for our country and our young men and women who risk it all. Thanks for all you do!

First of all That PUNK ASS who was bugn you and your Peeps should have been the one to do Time or service.Man i dont think Kid Rock is out at night trying start Fights in the middle of the night.He was just off a show trying to eat and chill out.,So you allso pay for your trips over there so it would be good if you did your service there.But some can be BUTT HEADS why should Judges be any different.Give them the gift of song brother!!!!!

So Im not disagreeing with you I see your point but from the judge's point maybe he thinks that you having to do something that you dont love and are great at is that much of a punishment. Yea the whole media on the issue is silly, however because you are in the public eye I think people think u should not do dumb ass shit (in public anyway) kinda be a role model. So counting you going to do something that is wonderful and making the troops feel good really isnt going to be a punishment. Punishments are meant to make the person think about what they did wrong and feel shitty so they dont do it again. Even though we all know that shit was funny and dont feel bad at all about it. LOL When u are rocking with the troops ur not thinking about "Damn maybe I should have turned the other cheek" ur like "Hell yea lets rock and roll" Where as if you had to rake leaves or pick up trash or some bullshit like that you would be like "Damn this sucks maybe next time I better just ignore the lame asses that get you fired up cause these blisters from this rake hurt like hell" Ya know what I mean? You going to sing for the troops is an awesome thing but you LOVE doing that because it makes you feel good not because you have to because some lame ass judge said you had to because he thinks you should act a certain way in public. Sorry Kid to have to put it like that hope I didnt burst ur bubble to bad. I love you no matter what dumb ass shit comes ur way. and always handle every situation the way u feel right not how everyone else thinks u should. Always rockin with ya no matter what.

Wow, that's alot of shit, another tour for our military, your the best present, for them! Can't be home for the holidays but get a Kid Rock & TBT show, I'm sure their thankful to see you and the band. About the Judge he sucks, public service, don't he know you are Mr.Rock and Roll with Rebel Soul and public services is want you do every time you take the stage! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (just sang that in my head) to you and yours, Please keep your heads up and hurry home! and damn it I want a Detroit show for Christmas Santa, I've been so good! I feel ya brutha!! I believe that it is those of us who have made mistakes & stood next to them that are the ones who really do care & want to make a difference. The problem being; it is not until you get to this point that you can actually "see" or that "times like these" do make us who we are to become. Just wanted to say as humans we are all capable of making bad choices and poor judgments. Personally, I feel that community service isn't the best way to help an individual refrain from misconduct . Although, I feel anger management classes might help to some degree, there again...no guarantees. I guess all thats left now for you is to figure out what you can do to help yourself. It seems to me all the Judge wants is a person to compensate their community as opposed to actually helping the individual figure out the best way to prevent that type of incident from happening again. If this happened to me...I'd never step foot inside DeKalb County again nor any Waffle House late at night!

I think you going over to Iraq is the MOST important thing you can do, especially at Christmas time. I commend you for going over there to entertain the troops, giving up time with your own family is a very selfless act and the fact that you've done it several times says a lot about you as a person.
