I would really like to change the mission statement too "Helping those who believe in hard work and the American Dream in there time of need." maybe leave out "time of need" - ?? I am so sick of seeing all these bullshit charitys give shit too undeserving families and people who keep having kids that cant afford them, etc etc - i wanna focus on helping people who are already trying to help themselves, people like a young jon brabbs, etc etc....will always help kids and veterans etc, but focus on real shit from people already doing good things who may be struggling a bit.

I can understand your anger. Countless times my co workers and I complain that we work so hard,as do others, and the cost of gas, food and medical goes up but our salary do not. I see people on goverment aid receiving free drugs including Vigra, and We work or seniors citizens can not afford theirs . I also know that some people who really need a helping hand are denied because they make too much money. Yeah right! I work hard for my money, it does not work for me. I truly feel sorrry for the children involved because they are the innocent victims of lazy parents . Thank you for all you do and let pray and help those truly in need.

And if you wish to make that system better, support and fund programs that investigate and prosecute fraud. If we just got back and invested fraud losses in 2012, we be able to fund another two years of needed and qualified applicants.

I feel the same way! I've worked hard to get where I am and be able to enjoy the things I do. I can't stand someone extending their hand expecting something for nothing. I help people who help themselves. Thank you for saying what we all think!

Sounds like you want to invest in start up businesses which then hire others, a valid opportunity. Would think it would be easy for your folks to put together an investment package where fans could donate into the fund of selected businesses. However, son, since the Catholic Church still bans birth control, I take issue with your analogy about folks who "continue to have children" and suck on the system. The welfare benefits are there to provide for the the feeding and care of the infant so it matures into a capable human being. Bear in mind, the child had NOTHING to do with it's arrival into these circumstances.

Agree with you also, Blue, not the child(ren)'s fault by any means--I think the issue is ppl who abuse the system... often and unfortunately in ways some of us would never do.

Entitlement, entitlement, I deserve "this", whatever "this" might be. Have to deal with it everyday. I gotta love anybody that supports their local marching bands, HS, college, whatever. Band geeks of the world!

So true...I can honestly say that I am disgusted with 47% of this country right now! They are a bunch of Crampers!

Great to read your message about focusing on helping veterans.... especially this time of year. My husband is currently active duty military and was in charge of closing the Al Asad, Iraq base in December 2011. We know how hard it is to be apart during the Holidays. If anyone is sending out Holiday cards this year please make a few extras for wounded soldiers and veterans. Until December 7th the Red Cross is accepting Holiday cards to be given to wounded soldiers and veterans. The address is: Holiday Mail for Heroes P.O. Box 5456 Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456 To find out more information go to www.redcross.org Once on the website go to Ways to Help/Get involved with a Group or Program/Holiday Mail for Heroes Please send as many Holiday cards as you can. Thanks so much! Chris

Okay... Here is my thoughts "Forget about it." It may sound stupid but, I'd have some one make me some cookies or even make them my self hey, Spike the freakin egg nog, put up the xmas tree and hang the lights out side! Go buy some gifts stuff them under the tree and by the way take a picture with Santa. Something. Why? Because it is XMas every one should be happy. Just be happy. This kinda crap will always be there. Fuck it. It can wait. I guarantee you it will be there later. Or if its important they can leave a fucking message will get back to ya. You are always going to run into those something for nothing folks, just go around them. They want a hand out. That is all they want. That is all they care about that is their objective. You see them on the street corners, unless you live in Arizona it is illegal to loiter on the corner. There is a sign there instead. What these dumb asses don't realize is this shit is not free and yes in order for some one to receive something for nothing is to have really great tits or, some one actually had to pay for it. K. Use your better judgement and go from there.

What a pleasure and delight you are! Even though I'm really old, 56, I so admire you! You are extremely talented, you write your own songs, have a fabulous country alum I play full blast in my mustang convertible, have morals, stood behind the right man for the presidency, help where you chose, love your son, are humble and a proud American. I would so love to meet you but I'd probably faint or embarass myself totally! Thanks for making a difference. God bless you.

Christ Our Pattern 8 I speak not by commandment, but I am testing the sincerity of your love by the diligence of others. 9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. 10 And in this I give advice: It is to your advantage not only to be doing what you began and were desiring to do a year ago; 11 but now you also must complete the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to desire it, so there also may be a completion out of what you have. 12 For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have. 13 For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened; 14 but by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may supply their lack, that their abundance also may supply your lack—that there may be equality. 15 As it is written, “He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack.” 2 Corinthians 8:1-15

Agreed, Sherz, but even St. Paul cautioned against those who choose not to work or offer labor toward the good of the community...

I forgot to say thanks for picking a Downriver band. Downriver seems to get overlooked.

A rallying cry often heard today in our economically challenged world is “Less and less.” Governments are called to balance their budgets. People are urged to use less energy and decrease consumption of limited resources. It is good advice that we should all heed. In the realm of faith, however, there are no shortages of love and grace and strength. Therefore, as followers of Christ, we are urged to demonstrate His love in our lives in ever-increasing measure. In the apostle Paul’s first letter to the believers in Thessalonica, he urged them to “abound more and more” in a lifestyle that pleases God (4:1). He also commended them for their demonstration of love for each other, and called them to “increase more and more” in brotherly love (v.10). That kind of ever-increasing love is possible only because it comes from God’s limitless resources, not from our own dwindling supply. Poet Annie Johnson Flint wrote: His love has no limit, His grace has no measure, His power has no boundary known unto men; For out of His infinite riches in Jesus, He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again. The apostle Paul expressed his desire for the believers: “May the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you” (1 Thess. 3:12). How much should we love God and others? More and more! Our limited ability to love does not change God’s limitless power to love through us. May the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you. —1 Thessalonians 3:12

Thank you, Mr. Ritchie, for yet again…over and over and over and over…sharing your kind, gracious, and generous heart with those of the Wyandotte Marching Chiefs and their community, in addition to all those you and your Foundation have carefully researched and thoughtfully extended, not a hand out, but a hand up. I see your heart…it is quite exquisite to behold. Following is a snippet from a chain e-mail which touched me and a link to that which daily renews my hope for all. “Angels: Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference. I sent an angel to watch over you last night, but it came back. I asked "why?"...The angel said: "Angels don't watch over angels!" God has seen you struggling with something. God says it's over. A blessing is coming your way.” May God continue to bless each and every one of you. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiXjbI3kRus

Sooo F****** True Brother!! No matter what comes our way we use that as a platform to stand on to view our horizons even past negative(move past it),natural disasters,(work together)...anything...not sit, wait, dig the hole deeper, and wait for a hand out. There are real hard working people, heroes or just plain victims of tragic events who really need the help. Thank You finally being a highly publicized voice on this issue.

~AMEN!!!!!!! :-) People who won't help themselves---can't be helped. Our "journey" can't be started until our own asses "take the first step"!! :-) THANK YOU for being the person that you are, Bob :-) You made my day with your post :-) God Bless You :-)

I too was checking the tour schedule. I couldn't agree more. I have a cousin with 10 kids, 7 different dads. She's able bodied enough to f*(k & have babies, certainly able bodied enough to find a paying job & pay back into the system that she has repeatedly stolen from. Her older children (over 18) already have babies of their own & are recycling the welfare roles! Even one of her younger children (17) has a baby (right after getting out of a drug facility). So sad that many parents have sought not to be involved and/or responsible for their child(ren)s education. You see at Christmas time some families going to the Toys for Tots drives in their new Escalades & their kids have $300 - $400 tennis shoes on, yet no food in the fridge. I watch people like my Father who had worked his entire life, who taught us that we are not entitled to anything, you want it, you work for it, a strong man who is a proud military veteran spend the last 9 months of his life in either a hospital or care facility and my poor Mother being told from the care facility that payment of $11000.00 per month must be remitted now. That for her to get Medical assistance she has to cash in all her insurance policies. Just a sickening, sickening system in many ways. I do believe however that there are people who do not know where to turn for help with their children and that's why I believe in being an advocate. IT FEELS GREAT to see a family smile & thank you, knowing that all they wanted was a little direction as to where to turn. Much Love & Respect to you BEAUTIFUL MAN!!! p.s. - Got my Rebel Soul CD yesterday, THE ALBUM IS AWESOME. My recently departed nephew Seth would have Loved it.

I agree 100 percent. Help those who need help in achieving their goals. The phrase teach a man to fish, he won't go hungry comes to mind.

I can totally agree. I was just logging on here to look over the tour schedule, when I saw this. It is something I struggle with every day. I teach 8th grade in Toledo Ohio (right by my home in Monroe Michigan :)), and every day I struggle with who really deserves help and who could be doing so much more for themselves. I want to be useful to people who need my help without being "used". . . fine line. Thanks for sharing.

Amen to that!!
