His candidate may have lost, but Kid Rock was not bemoaning the results the day after this year’s presidential election.
“I think it’s OK to disagree and to move forward now that we’ve elected our president (and) give him a shot,” said the Clarkston-based musician, who supported Michigan native and Republican candidate Mitt Romney and made several appearances on his behalf, include one at the Royal Oak Music Theatre earlier this year and at a rally on Election Day eve in New Hampshire.
“If you don’t agree in four years, we’ll be able to do this process again,” added Rock, who released a video with actor Sean Penn called “Americans” that championed tolerance between sides of the political spectrum. “So many people have died to protect that, I think it’s important to be involved in some way.”
The Romney endorsement marked Rock’s deepest entry into the political forum, though he mostly let his presence and his music do the talking.
“I always said I’d never sit there and preach politics, and I don’t believe I did,” noted Rock, who also performed at one of President Barack Obama’s inauguration parties in 2008.
“I might’ve slipped a few times here and there when someone caught me off guard, but it’s never my intention to go out and preach politics to people. I always say during these rallies that I’ll leave that to the pros.
“My main thing in being there is to pick a side, because I believe you have to stand for something. I was there to entertain people, show my support and then skedaddle. I’m not going to ... sit there and tell you what’s wrong with the country and this, that and the other. I can do that through songs. I can do that with my friends and family.”
Nevertheless, Rock did say that he was happy he endorsed Romney and was active in the campaign.
“It was a great experience,” he said. “I learned a lot about just that whole ... show being the political window. It was pretty interesting overall, and we had some fun doing it.
Rock is revving up for the Nov. 19 release of his new album, “Rebel Soul.”
He and his Twisted Brown Trucker band have started rehearsing for a 2013 tour that will begin in February, with performances scheduled for Dec. 30-31 at Hard Rock live in Hollywood, Fla.
The group will also make a number of promotional appearances around the album’s release, including CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight,” “CBS This Morning,” ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show and a Nov. 18 NASCAR race in Miami.
Held off, from commenting,
Held off, from commenting, not mad, just disappointed that Romney didn't win. I just do not see any way that the House, Senate, and Executive Branch can work together if the populace won't. All I see on my facebook, from my far left and far right friends are hate. Example and paraphrasing here, from one far right friend, 'We need to secede from this country' also 'Obama stole election in Ohio.' From the far left friends, 'The Republicans want to end all Birth Control and no abortions in any case.' Also, 'All Republicans are all Tea Party members.' Both extremes spew untruths that are just ludicrous. These zealots have to change or the moderates in both Rep. and Dem parties need to get much stronger with our voices, maybe then we can finally elect a President that has common sense. Maybe we need to start the 'Common Sense Party!' Motto, "all that have some are welcome".
Think we are all scared about
Think we are all scared about the future. Just don't let that fear drive you or change you or your values, because we can all be different. Most of all, let this place continue to be a place where all of us can come and feel at home.
I'll tell ya, as an old guy,
I'll tell ya, as an old guy, I'm new to Kid Rock, though I've always dug his style & music. I am forever greatful for what he did, because it couldn't be easy in this business, supporting a conservative as he did. We had a rockers voice in a very serious undertaking, and came up just a bit short.
I will support Kid Rock, one CD, one concert and one tee shirt at a time, and wear it proudly on-stage myself. I'm very impressed by this young man, and wish him all the success this life has to offer.
Keep principled Kid, and everyone herein, no matter what your politics are. Peace & Love - Kevin

KR has to add a new verse to
KR has to add a new verse to the Stones classic; "Sympathy for the Devil" as follows:
"I was around in Amerika,
when I saw it was time for hope & change"
“Lied and cheat to get my way, in order for all to pay”
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game
Agree, time to move ahead-
Agree, time to move ahead--been laying low these past few days (not even a leg shaven, lol)-indulge me my opinion--
This is the first time in a long time I have seen and heard of so many people feeling as devastated as they had right after an election--sure, there had been some disappointment in the past, but to hear of so many feeling so hopeless and disappointed after an election (as was I)...unbelievable.
Me, I am a hopeful person. I hope things will get better, and I hope that the Prez has the capabilities, skills, and people behind him to make that happen. I want this country to succeed. I do think he has a lot of work ahead of him. Many people in this nation feel alienated and polarized..reach across the aisle, for heaven's sake. Less arrogancy and more bipartisanship.
Really hope that unemployment doesn't go up, and charitable contributions down, as some have predicted--as small business goes into 'protective mode'. Guess only time will tell.
I believe the Republic we
I believe the Republic we call the United States is done! It will be a slow decline at first, but will accelerate. I believe we are well on our way to “One Party Rule” even though you can point that the total vote count was fairly even in the last election. In reality, messages are tightly controlled by non-objective media, with an agenda that will accelerate our decline. If we do retain the two party system, the messages will coalesce so much, that it won’t even matter; whoever looks or talks prettier will be the deciding factor.. Mind you, I’m not even close to being a religious zealot, a prepper or anything reasonably associated with fringe elements. Common sense has always ruled my life, and will remain so.
From the very depths of my soul, I believe we had the candidate best suited to fix the problems at hand in America and it fell short. I say this with all honesty and conviction.
I'm devestated, but I too have hope. But change has indeed come, and cat's outta the bag.
KR had some big-balls for what he did and I will forever be thankful. I'm 56 yrs old, a drummer in a rock band (70's) and always liked him. Now,,,I'm buying everything he sells!
We got ya back Kid!!
I agree Playdrums2, I agree..

Yeah, I'll bet he was great..
Yeah, I'll bet he was great...as he always is... And no matter what else we each believe in... I know we all agree on this. We all love America, and we all love Kid Rock, so let's keep livin', lovin', and rockin'!!
Regardless of Politics - LOL
Regardless of Politics - LOL - I went to NH rally for Romney and Kid Rock was Awesome!! Just saying....keep it light folks keep it light!! :-)
I believe , don't compare
I believe , don't compare oranges to apples and please, please, please, read your legislation!
hahahaha...I just came back
hahahaha...I just came back from the Michigan/Northwestern football game and I saw gold t-shirts with Mitt's face on the outline of the state of Ohio and it read: Mitt hates Ohio. It was pretty funny since all the Michigan fans are so anti Ohio because of OSU to begin with.
In my opinion, Obama didn't
In my opinion, Obama didn't fail, and It's not just about Obama. He has to have congress agree with him, or he can't do anything. We all have to come together to make things happen. The way I see it is like this. Lets just say, hypothetically speaking, you're in a marriage, and your husband is a good guy. He doesn't beat you, cheat on you, etc. etc. etc. Let's say he goes to work everyday, and works his ass off trying to do right by you & your family, and give you a good home...a good life. Lets say that though he goes to work each day, and he tries real hard, things aren't where they need to be, or as good as they should be, because the people he works with, can't reach a mutual agreement on things that would make life better, for not only your husband, and your family, but everyone else's too. What would you do? Do you sell-out your husband...and say next please, or do you stand behind him, and give him a good support system, so he can move forward & try to make the other workers come together, and make the changes needed, to make life better for everyone involved? In my opinion, I would not only stand behind him, but take a good look in the mirror, and ask myself... now, besides standing behind him, and giving him the support he deserves, what else can I do, on my part, to help ensure that we can all come to a mutual agreement, to make things better? It's easy to walk away, and to place blame ....hell, look at the divorce rates. ;) It's alot harder to stand strong, and support something, or someone you believe in. Now with that being said, if your husband is abusing you, or cheating, or just not even trying to work for you and your family at all....Then I'd say kick him to the curb. But again, In my opinion, President Obama is trying to help this country...he's not trying to hurt us. When he first took office things were already in a downward spiral. I'm not just saying it's the republicans either, as not long after Bush took office, we were hit by 9-11etc.
Oh, and in my opinion where
Oh, and in my opinion where the election is concerned, Romney had my vote because if you are given ample opportunity and fail, it's time to move over and let someone else give it a shot. Just my opinion and obviously who am I, or for that matter , more importantly, who are we? We the nation? Hmmm. Food for thought.
What's more scary than the
What's more scary than the election is that we have a nation that is divided in half and that's the scary part. To me it says confusion and inability to see the common goal. We need to focus on the areas of most concern- our troops, our economy, our healthcare, and our youths educations. No one should be divided on that and for that we need to serve a common cause which is humanity, peace, economy , and education combined as one and our people combined as one also. We all need to bundle! Lol
It's funny how the fiscal
It's funny how the fiscal cliff stories are all over the news now that the election is over. I have tried to warn people about it the last couple of weeks. You never did see many stories on it. It's now all of the sudden a huge issue. That's all you heard today on every news channel. Really, it's been on the horizon for quite some time? And unless you voted democrat, your presidential vote really doesn't matter in Michigan. There was no way republicans, or any other party for that matter, would take the state. It really is quite sad. I wish they'd scrap the whole electoral process and go by popular vote. I know Romney wouldn't have won anyway but I still would like my vote to count for something.
Wow - good to see the freedom
Wow - good to see the freedom of opinion thing still alive and well :) I have to say, I am the one that felt like her life was over election night. Those that want to hate on me cause I just said that, I understand. Do what ya gotta do, if you must. But... pls include me in the racist part, pls. I prayed for that man to win back when most didn't know his name b/c I thought he could bring a sort of mending... seems I was wrong w/ the current state of things overall. I chgd my mind before he ran, but still had he been consistent w/ what I saw prior my vote would have stayed with him. I voted for Clinton, voted for Bush and McCain and Romney. That was my choice and thank God for the Soldiers that fought for it and still do today. At one time, one was my Grandfather in the UP, he lost his arm, he offered his life.
The good news is that yes.... Hopefully, they can actually work together. Time will tell.

Oh Fox is horrible, but the
Oh Fox is horrible, but the ones I'm talking about are actually coming from my local news... I wanted to reach inside the tv and slap this guy silly... he was being so rigid and prudish towards particular stats of folks that voted for the president. Never in my life... wish I would of caught this guys name. I'm sure I'm not the only one that heard this guy go on and on.
ditto... and move forward is
ditto... and move forward is right... 10 more days people !!!! I thought I read somewhere about now that Obama is in for another four years... that he needs to slap some people around in congress and get the ball rolling on those leadership skills, eh I agree.
I thought his acceptance speech was amazing... thinking.. how come he didn't come with such conviction at those debates... anyway, I think he should roll that flow right back to DC.. we'll be okay. One thing I'm sick to hell about is hearing all the racist/woman/gay/low economy American citizens remarks from right side news editors and other unimportant critics who are talking lots of shit.... as if their world has ended on Tuesday...how's that go.. "they beef eaters.. shit talkers".. lol I know not every repub is like that.. and while they dine and whine, at least they can be happy knowing their freedom of speech is still fully in tact....... it's gonna be okay, really
Nice.......
