Aerosmith has just released a second leg of their tour and are coming to my area-I have a girlfriend that is crazy about them to the point she and her husband just had a baby girl and the whole nursery is Aerosmith, she has a tat, etc.. and was gonna kidnap me and make me drive to Texas to see them-I couldn't go, had to work. Anyhow here's my gripe-she was so excited that they were coming to our area cause last time they were going to be here they canceled so I got her info for pre-sale, etc.. so she and her husband could have a great night out to see her favorite band and sense they just had a beautiful baby girl-so she tells me how sad she was cause for VIP/meet & greet it was 1200 per ticket-I mean really??? She is heartbroken cause she wanted to get a picture of her and her husband so bad for her little girl to have to see when thier little girl is older as they have her growing up on Aerosmith music, etc.. I was so sad for them :( I mean I understand what a drag it can be for the bands having to do all that for hours on end speaking, etc... before the gigs-pain in the ass,and then do their show, I get it but I have to say-I bought meet and greets for my son who is a big Shinedown fan for like 300 and the band had a conversation with my kid, autographed picture they talked about things with him and it meant the world to him especially with their song "Bully" just coming out cause yes children do get bullied at school and it sucks anyways they did pictures, they were so cool with their fans that paid that extra to meet them and then we have our man Kid Rock-I so loved he did for people to win a chance to do meet and greets for his Care Tour and my son got to meet him and he got to say Hi and get a picture and but my kid said he felt so bad for Kid Rock cause some crazy chick with her husband before him was hanging on Kid Rock to the point of ridiculous and embarrassing so yeah fans can go too far!!!
But then that brings me to this:
Without fans the bands don't make a living or have people enjoying their works and if they charge the outrageous fees then it makes being a fan kinda like WTF cause for regular fans money is hard to come by.
I have to say Kid Rock and his team did keep prices at a great level for the fans and when they were a bit higher it was for his "Care Tour" which we all understood why! :) I'm looking forward to Kid Rocks new album and tour and hope I and my son can go to a gig if it comes to our area, funds are tight so we'll see-fingers are crossed!
So anyways I was just venting cause I'm sad for my friends who love Areosmith-what do you guys think about all this?
I'd save my money and go to
I'd save my money and go to see the Rolling Stones tour.....new single per Roxy:

Or, if I had the money I'd see Bob, 10/27, at the LAVO niteclub.
With Steve, newly returned to the band and live, would wait until I heard someone I trusted to tell me the new live show with Aerosmith is the bomb before I spent a cent on them, lol. Not that they haven't produced great....
Tom Triumph ran the fan club for years, and this "pay to see the band behind the scenes" took the world by storm. Hey, up to you....if you have the dough, spend it any way you want, and if seeing Steve in the flesh at dinner is your pleasure, I've seen them charge $7,000 for the privilege. Feedback? Spectacular to sucks. Depends on the nite and how they all have their groove on, lol.
Caveat Emptor
These people, though enormously talented, are just human, and sometimes, pretty cranky.
I've got my first little one
I've got my first little one on the way and I'm the happiest guy in the world!! I like the name rockchild if it's a boy, I hope my wife isn't in labour when Bobby and the boys roll through my area, I missed the last show and was so upset about it. I feel bad for that persons areosmith addiction...whow,woew,waooo!! LOL anyways don't tour Alberta in may Bobby cause I might miss you again, that sucked..
Personally, I think its
Personally, I think its ridiculous.. If you have that much money to blow. Do us all a favor and give it to someone who is struggling to feed there kids....ugh
Dang MSH your friends could
Dang MSB your friends could of gone to Vegas and just went to Jaguar's and found Vince Neil and had a trip to boot, music, alcohol, booty etc... for that price!
That is something else people should be happy about on Kid Rocks Cruise, so many bands, people, relaxing or to party whatever, for about as much as the bands?/mangers? or promo people? are having people pay for meet & greets! So all have fun on Kid Rocks Cruise this next spring and your hard earned money lasting a lot longer than just a few hours!!!
I have a friend who's a huge
I have a friend who's a huge Motley Crue fan--and he recently paid $2300.00 dollars for Meet and Greets with the band for him and his girlfriend. I don't think it's the bands charging those kind of fees---I think it has more to do with the Promotion teams----but I'm no expert in how that works--so???? That's alot of money for the common Joe tho.
And I agree---the concert tickets for Kid Rock and Tbt always have been super reasonable---I saw the Care tour in Atlanta and paid $62.00 for my ticket thru the pre-sale here. That show was AMAZING!!!!!
I agree Margo and was asking
I agree Margo and was asking cause I wondered if it was just me. Damn it is so weird for me to see what bands are doing these days as I had a life before being mom and I cannot even begin to say all the bands, people, party's etc that I've been privy to... and it was not like it is now-I mean yeah we all have to make a living but jeez let the fans enjoy being fans not a hardship for them. Just like Kid Rock taking all those pictures on the cruises how fun for his fans, was probably hard on him but what memory keep sake's for his fans!:)
Wow, $1200 is completely
Wow, $1200 is completely outrageous for a meet & greet. I don't see how a band can feel ok with that, just because people are willing to pay it doesn't make it a right thing to do. Kid Rock concert tixs have been reasonable & I hope they continue.
