How are you feeling, my friend? I hope you are smiley and twinkling as much as possible today. Thank you, again, for your wisdom...I've found those dasterdly buggers like to find me in the morning as I enjoy lying in bed for a bit upon waking. They're pesky, determined little buggers, aren't they? Well, try as they might, they didn't get me this morning; I think I pissed off the devil again :) Yippee for me!!! Unity's Daily Word this morning really helped. I'm at McDonald's while Judy is in class; then we'll meet up for lunch during her break before her 2nd class and afterwards head back to Stevi, short of a few errands to run. I almost didn't go because I have things to do at 316, but I needed to work and I decided I can take Sonya for a walk after I get back. She's been very patient, loving, and loyal. We both need Bell South today but probably won't be until around 5:30ish. People keep complaining about the smoke and are concerned with me out walking and otherwise exercising. The valley's air quality is deemed 'unhealthy' but I haven't been bothered by it during my activities. In fact, I tend only to smell and feel the fresh air, although sometimes at night I have gotten a little bit of a stuffy nose. But no worries, it won't bother either of us. :) Good news, I don't have to return your CD until tomorrow!!! Yippee for me again!!! I don't know what all you have on your plate today, but I imagine it's a great deal and so I hope your day flows smoothly through all your adventures. You are precious, Robert James Ritchie. Sorry to interrupt, but walking to a quiet 316, I'm going to say my good nights and go to bed. I'm ride sharing with Judy to Missoula early tomorrow for contract work and things so I need my sleep. Constitution Day & Citizenship Day is an American federal observance recognizing adoption of the U.S. Constitution & those who have become U.S. citizens. It’s observed on September 17, the day the U.S. Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution in Philadelphia in 1787. Wow, 225 years old today! Iowa schools first recognized Constitution Day in 1911. Louisville, OH, calls itself Constitution Town for in 1952, resident Olga Weber petitioned municipal officials to establish Constitution Day & Mayor Gerald Romary proclaimed 9/17/52, as the city’s Constitution Day. The following April, Weber requested the OH General Assembly proclaim 9/17 as state-wide Constitution Day & Gov. Frank Lausche signed it into law. Taking her request to Congress, in August 1953, the U.S. Senate passed a resolution designating September 17–23 as Constitution Week; it was signed into law by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. A 2004 act, establishing its dual honoring, mandates all publicly funded educational institutions provide educational programming on American Constitution history on that day. “The historic, four-page legal compact — born of Enlightenment thinking in a time of slavery — …[has] some of its words [as] almost akin to a national poetry... The preamble reads: ‘We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general welfare, & secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves & our posterity, do ordain & establish this Constitution for the United States of America.’ The document replaced the nation’s Articles of Confederation, displays remarkable resilience, surviving the Whiskey Rebellion, the Civil War & disputed presidential elections in 1876 & 2000.” -- Los Angeles Times (9/17/12).
