A Robin Hood pact with promoter Live Nation on ancillary coin might redefine the concert biz

Where I grew up, there were no rich people. No bankers, no rightwing titans ranting the poor were lazy and the government was taking all their hard-earned money. Some dads worked for the electric company, others sold insurance or held blue-collar jobs.
I am going to Grand Rapids MI
I am going to Grand Rapids MI for Business and bringing my kids , I received tickets to see Kid Rock do you think I can bring my two 10 year old twins to the concert , not sure what Grand Rapids Holds -never been - My girls are not shocked by swearing , ect, or being around drunk people , very mature for there age. They love kid rock and would like to go.
I took my son to his first
I took my son to his first Kid Rock concert when he was 10-our seats sucked-nosebleed but he had the best time so then I took him that summer as a surprise to DTE in Michigan-the people we had around us were so cool and I did VIP for my son we had no problems then from there I have always bought from Kid Rocks Fan club and have done seats just in case the pit was too much-now my son has been raised in the real world not all rainbows and sunshine and he loves concerts-I've taken him to so many and I can say he can handle his own (he's 15 now) still for me I'm not ready for him to be in the pit at any concert, I've tried to do it at other show (different group not Kid Rock) but got too nervous and we went to seats-still seats only thus far cause of people and I don't want my kid to get hurt! I say take your kid do seats, see how it goes talk to the people around you and figure it out you can always go stand with security if you feel it is not a comfortable thing for your child but thus far, out of all of the concerts I've taken my son to he has had a blast and loves the live music and for the most part the crowds! I was even going to take him on Kid Rocks first cruise with my daughter, paid deposits and everything but got bullied out of it cause of stupid stuff and now wish I would have but what-ever-don't be like me with a pocket full of I Wishes just go have fun, get seats, enjoy!!!!
I think it would be depend on
I think it would be depend on the child, as others have said. I took my son when he was 13 I think it was. Mind you, he had already grown up in the locker room after my hockey games, and knew the rules of do as I say not as I sometimes do, and whats said at the Kid Rock concert stays at the kid rock concert. My experience with the crowds, the greatest people watching only second to a greatful dead show.. lol Seriosly, The crowd is usally fairly well be haved with a few over indulged yet harmless people around.
You need to make the decision, and you know your child best. If you main exposure to his music is picture, all summer long, and bornfree.. well hold on to you socks when he goes deep and old school :) you can't catch a better showman these days, and if you want your 10 year old to experience a real true rock and roll show.. take them.
@JNREEDY be careful some ass
@JNREEDY be careful some ass from protective services will be knocking at you door. LOL
Depends on how you are
Depends on how you are raising your kids, My youngest boy went with us to two shows at Konocti Clearlake, CA. Once at 7yrs. and once at 9. Had to bring somone with us that wouldn't be too drunk by the end of the show. He handled that old Cadillac much better at the age of 9 than at 7 though. LOL

My husband and I talked with
My husband and I talked with a mother and daughter (probably 11 or 12) outside the Bilo Center in Greeville last year. The little girl gushed about how much she loved Kid Rock (the mother did too). I asked them if either had seen Kid in concert before. We had seen him many times before then (& many since then) and knew what to expect from the show. Both said no. I went on to tell them what to expect because all they had really listened to was his music from the Born Free album and I think we would all agree it is pretty tame next to his earlier music. The little girl said she didn't mind the cussing or the dancers but she hoped there weren't a bunch of drunk people around her. I kinda laughed and said "Honey, good luck with that!". I would have LOVED to have seen her after the show to see how she liked it.
Back to the original question... I took an 11 year old to see him at the Bilo Center about 11 years ago and that was for the Devil Without a Cause tour (I think).
I agree with KidRockAngel. I
I agree with KidRockAngel. I also think it may depend on the set up of the venue.
Did you take your son? If so,
Did you take your son? If so, how did it go? We've got an outdoor concert coming up in July, he wants to go, but I'm not sure.
This question has come up many times and pros and cons given many times. In my humble opinion, the Language and the strippers are the least of the problems with bringing Kids. You have a large rowdy crowd drinking vast amounts of alcohol. Which leads to fighting. You have many people myself included, imbibing in a little smoke..... Now it may never happen, but it only takes once for a child to be injured accidently. The newspapers would grab on to that like hotcakes... If I were KR, I would Make all my shows 18 and older if alcohol is served.
PS My little ones Love KR too. but No way are they going until they are old enough to protect themselves.
I took my son the first time when he was 7, It was a outdoor concert in Alabama and it poured rain the entire concert. It was scary getting him out of there because everyone left at once and he was so small so during other concert's we let the crowd thin out before trying to get back to the car. When my son was 7 he didn't know anyone recorded music other than Kid Rock as I never played any music back then that wasn't Kid. Now he is 12 and listen's to alot of other artist but he still like's Kid Rock.
I would take him...in fact I have taken my own and they loved it!!! My sister and I took all of our kids last tour..they ranged from 7 to 13...they had a blast!
You know Kid Rock gets a lot of bad press for his lang. and behavior at his shows - However "those people" have never been to any of his concerts. I would not have a problem taking a ten year old to a show - (FYI - I am a first grade teacher - lol) Does he swear - yes and so do most people in the real world. Take your son and enjoy he will have a great time!
