haha Bart, you have a point, March in MI or Miami hmm...;p That's good to know there's something to do close to the port, I didn't wanna hang in the airport, though I'll likely have a good buzz goin on by then so I won't care how long I'm waiting or where :D Thanks for the info.

There is no question on this Margo - Go early and hang out by the port in Miami. I'm sure it will be available to board by early afternoon. The prior cruisers will have to be off by 11am, so the crew will be cleaning and re-stocking after that.

So, let me get this straight Margo......You are concerned about staying a few hours extra in Miami in March? It will be 10 degrees in Detroit and 70+ degrees in Miami.....Last year we sat outside at Bubba Gump Shrimp within a few blocks of the port and the hotel and enjoyed the sunshine. We had a few beverages too. If you are flying out of the D that day, you will not be alone. We went down a day early last year and all of a sudden these waves of KR/Detroit fans came stumbling into town. It was great! Someone yelled out "Yep, those are our people!"

Well if we go with that one we'll kill time with you then:) I saw the later option that arrives at 5, not sure I want to cut it that close. I wanted to see my kids off to school that morning, but can't if I go with the earlier flight:( There are some flights with a layover in ATL leaving Det. at a better time for me, but the least amount of times I have to take off on a plane the better...I hate flying, especially taking off. I have a feeling there will be some self medicating on my part that day ;p

I don't think Sonya and Gen have made flight plans either. They might end up on that flight, too. If they fly out of metro, then they would most likely stay at my house the night before since I'm so close.

I think I'm on that flight Margo. I was just going to kill time (and pack light since I'll be lugging around my bag) that afternoon. I don't know what time we can board yet. I figured there would be other cruisers on that flight too so I could hang out with them also another option. Cheryl and Val are coming down later in the day so I will meet up with them on the boat.

I got a question for you cruisers making the pre-party. The website says you can check in through out the day, have any of you found out if there's a start time for checking in? There's a flight I'm looking at gets to Miami at 11:35 but I don't wanna go that early if I can't board soon after.

Provie: A flight time of 11am would be tough. The port is not right next to the airport, so you have to factor in the drive time (30 minutes) and pre-flight check-in at the airport (1-2 hours). So you would have to check out of the boat, get your luggage and be in a cab by about 8am? It would be during the week, so add some rush hour traffic into the mix.

I just booked my husband's and his friend's cruise yesterday. I now have to book flights. I know the website said book a flight after noon but the only flight they have available that's affordable is at 11 a.m. Does it really take that long to get off the boat?
