I went to the Detroit Zoo yesterday with my kids and we all fell totally in love with the otter pups. The trio, born in March, are just so playful. We must have stood there for half an hour watching them. They wrestle with each other, doing somersault after somersault, in the water. The poor mother otter has her hands full. She would circle them in the water, jump up on the rocks to rest, then jump back in to circle them again, as if refereeing their antics. The cooler weather meant many of the other animals at the zoo were out and about as well. My daughter has been wanting to see the otters and I am so glad we went. We had a great day. We also visited the Sanders store on Maple (15 mile) and Old Woodward. Each Monday through Friday this summer, every Sanders store has Happy Hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Any fountain item is HALF off. I got a HUGE cream puff hot fudge for $2.98. You can't beat that!
