    Another Great Gathering
    Cheryl J - Logansgram says (16 Jul '12)

On Friday July 13th some of us gathered at Chop Shops for a wonderful cookout and bonfire. Thank you Genny. Saturday July 14th our great friends got together once again for one of our Woodshop Outings. Unfortunatley the Woodshop had an electrical issue and blew a transformer before we could order our food. We had a total of 17 people so they graciouly moved us to the basement bar at the Union just a block down the street. They still have the famous mac and cheese but the rest of the menu is totally different so we all changed gears for our taste buds. We set up shop for the next 4 hours catching up on everything that has happened over the last few months. Another successfrul gathering of the greatest friends anyone could have. All brought together last September due to our love of Kid Rock. Thanks Bob for the KRC as without the site our friendship would have never kindled. We just keep adding to that first little spark of meeting for the first time. It is so nice that more of the spouses are joining in also. Not sure they understand us but I think they are having fun too! Picture posted as Union Meeting.

I was in Clarkston today with my husband and son. Tomorrow is our 30th anniversary and Keith drove me up there for lunch and to look around. Lunch at Clarkston Union was great! We shared some mac & cheese and sandwiches. Too early for the Woodshop :( Oh well, another time..........

that's funny about the role model rsms.
My dad is the same way. He says why do you drive all that way just to have dinner and meet up with somebody you met at a concert. I say Dad, It's a Kid Rock thing. You just wouldn't understand. He just shrugs and says" whatever"

When we got to the Woodshop we seen the sign they were closed. Oh shit, what do we do now? Thought you might be at the Union. Went inside and still could not find anybody. Then i found the door leading downstairs and there you were, locked up in the dungeon like a bunch of crazies in the asylum. lol jk
I was looking forward to the triple porker sandwich at the woodshop. But the mac-n-cheese was a good second choice. Another great night with good friends.
Nice to finally meet you Margo

Jeff had some really funny comments and many questions when we were driving home. He met Cheryl and Mark the first time we met at Comerica and knew Sonya, Val, Toni, and Chris. Everyone else was new to him I think, but he had everyone's name figured out by the end of the night. He "gets" the KR thing just because he lives with me. I was at a bridal shower yesterday and I was talking about how much fun I had with you guys this weekend and some of my relatives just shook their heads. They don't get it. After the shower, I stopped in the Clinton Twp. Meijer and found the last of their Badass Beer. You can't find it anymore :( I was with my daughter, all dressed up, carrying beer. I'm such a role model. LOL.

Shoot - I didn't see that you were having a gathering. We were in Grand Blanc at an open house and could have stopped over.

Looks like you had a great time. Maybe we will crash the next gathering!

I'm a late comer to the group, but ya'll have been very welcoming & such a fun bunch of people. The Union was great accommodating our group, though I did have my heart set on my Woodshop burrito :( I'm just gonna have to go back now, I'll take my boys with me for lunch. Yes, it is nice to see spouses joining in, it was nice to meet Jeff & Ken & Dana I finally met. This was the first time I've spoken to Mark, he cracks me up! Did he ever figure out the name of the person that works for Kracker...shifty, swifty I was laughing so hard every time a different name was said "Yeah that's it!' I'm still laughing about that lol.

Another great evening with great people.
I wanted to make a few comments about the Woodshop and Union. Everytime I have visited, the staff has been good about our service and accomodations. This time was no exception. We were not charged for our drinks at Woodshop when we had to move from one place to the other. Then when we got to the basement of the Union, Betty took care of us at the bar, and I saw several waiters come down to help set things up quickly for us. I wanted to make sure Betty got a good tip, so while I was filling out my credit card slip I asked her, do you get any of this? She said, yes, I get all of it. I said. Oh Ok..hey, you could have gotten more by saying No..she laughs and says, Yeah, but karma's a bitch..He hee True!! Honest girl.
The lobster mac and cheese was delish..and the beer selection ROCKS. I was drinking Hacker Pschorr ON TAP-one of my all-time favorite wheat beers. I saw several other great tap beers, and a great bottled selection also--Dogfish 90 minute Pale Ale, Chimay Trappist Ale. Someone knows their stuff. I saw a wine cellar downstairs--I may have to investigate that next-lol (no wonder I have a beer belly).
The photo/poster of Seger in the basement rocked, also. I wish I would have taken a pic of it.
Thanks for the great service and food!
