so I hear a lot of people are on this coconut water, coconut milk, coconut oil health craze, so I went and picked up some Malibu Coconut Rum, does that count?????
Some of my apps for jobs through career link were coming back for more information. Some just direct to my email, but others looked like fishing so, I scanned and the content seemed to match the warning. All kinds of weird numbers at the top and asking for name, add, number etc. So I turned like 5 in as scam ems. Then I still got more... I was like hugh? I researched and went ahead took a chance and hit the link.... it was something that links you to the actually company b/c some are not giving names unless they are interested I guess. Jumpin cricket, dang! This one Dental office, ( in town which was my dream local ) said I was hired just waiting for bus mng, that was six wks ago. I went back and said look I have to take something else, I feel a bit odd checking in w/ you so often as I'd not ever followed up for a job so much in my life. She said no, don't here is his direct email address. Give him a chance to reach out. Still nothing. I want his job cause he sure ain't doin' it. Through it all, I know God has things taken care of. The job, no unemployment, those were not the worst part, it was dealing with Family that was a bit difficult. I think that is a bit settled now though at least for this weekend, so I'll be grateful for that :) Thank you for your support!!!
Have a fantabulous week end!!!

OMGOSH Paragraphs - they are
OMGOSH Paragraphs - they are back, ahhh!!! All is right. It's the little things ya know :)
Hey Blue - you are so welcome
Hey Blue - you are so welcome! I think I said that someplace, but just in case not U R welcome! :)
Thank you for your positive support - I completely with all of my heart appreciate that!
Blue already knows & I think Shirlee does, but Becky the update on job thing is that a person came in last minute with less hours, less days a week and more money than the other so... I went with them. They are not nationally affiliated, private owned like 3 or 4 employees, but just what I was looking for to allow me to make what I needed and still have time to work on some other things and get to the gym, so it's a good thang, know what I mane... ok. So, looks like things are coming together for all of us, Blue our encourager and source of info :) Shirlee back to work, me back to work, you going to school - wahooo!!!
I mailed that info to you guys so you should get it. The Co's website is on the catalog so you guys can check it out further if you are interested! :)
Let me know how your Father in Law is doing. Here or fb, I've been able to get back on there a little bit.
I'm cleaning out my closet today, the last thing I wanted done before I'm back in the groove Monday. Alright - YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY LADIES - I LOVE YA, GOD BLESS YA AND YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE! YOU DID FOR ME AND I THANK YOU!!! :)))
Looks like a solid
Looks like a solid opportunity, appreciate you sending me the material, Bobbie.
cool beans Blue! I'll be
cool beans Blue! I'll be forwarding you some info on that. Also, I have been trying this other thing, but I want to make sure it's for real. Use paypal account to get paid and since there is nothing in there, it's safe. It's linked to a savings that is safe too. Once I find out, suppose to pay after the first, I will send you ladies the link there as well as my niece in L.A. I really hope it works!!!
Cool beans, Bobbie, thanks
Cool beans, Bobbie, thanks for thinking of me. cjozzibozzi@aol.com
lots and lots. Always in
lots and lots. Always in thoughts and in prayers. If there's ever a time when I can't be on for a time, just know I've got ya in prayers and thoughts always and can't wait to meet you all. Once I get stablized a bit better, maybe my friend that works for airlines will help w/ some pricing and even if for lunch one day we can get together, who knows! Prefer a Kid Rock event, but hey, take what I can get as long as I get to say hey, give ya a hug and have a good chat!!! :)))
Bluesuedeshoe - I'm not sure
Bluesuedeshoe - I'm not sure if you want a look at that catalogue or not, but if you do tex me your mailing address and check it out. Right now, they have the Lowe's, BoJangles and some other accounts. They provide like the hats, shirts, cups, napkins, pens, ummm signs for promos etc. There are two brothers that run it. One does all the made in USA stuff and the other overseas from what I have so far learned. They are Family men, down to earth so far and seem alright. Bus in the family for over 100 years. I haven't done the run on financial summary like you said, honestly don't know how. I use to at work through D&B report but those were only company's submitting apps for coverage and all reviewed by the company so now, obviously since Im not there I have no access. Once I get stronger I can pursue this on the side. For now, I've gotta focus on what's going on for now... :) If you want to check it out though, I would be happy to send you a magazine/ catalog of available items. They actually manufacture them so if you wanted something outside the box for a client, I think they would most likely be able to accommodate. Very old school, which I like that. So anyway, just let me know. I know Shirlee and Becky are seeking income opportunities so that is why they first came to mind, but you are very welcome to Blue. If once you guys review, if you are interested, I can either call the owner, give heads up or just give you his direct number and you don't even have to mention my name. Basically they sell direct, manufacture and are willing to let there be a few middle peeps on their approval only. No multilevel, nothing like that, very basic, very old fashioned and I like that. When I visited their office. It kinda reminded me of you know that move Scroodge, the oldest one. Where it was this big really old building and eveybody kinda worked together with no cubicals... it was like that :)))) Gotta go for now. Have a beautiful day you guys, & I love ya
Great idea Blue - Becky
Great idea Blue - Becky whatever route you take, you will be successful, watch and see!!! :)))
Bex, ultimately I can see you
Bex, ultimately I can see you becoming one of the best patient advocates out there, with a MS in managment to support it. Honestly, once you get the basics and cred down, hang out a shingle and be self employed. You can work when you like, take 25% of house devoted to office work off the income tax on a long form, and be the best supportive person you can. Plus, you are extremely creative so you will be able to do your own marketing, etc.
There is a huge need coming for mid to older disabled adults who wish to stay as independent and functional as they can. MS is just one of the qualifying chronic diseases on that list. Think this area would allow you to build your own business and take great satisfaction from it. Plus your schedule is your own (Kid Rock here they come, lol).
I have to go w/ set income
I have to go w/ set income for house peeps and stuff, but there is a co called Adcapital in Monroe NC. You have to start your own business for tax purposes, but I will send you guys the product magazine. I will try and place a couple of sales on the side here and make sure test it, I guess on payout etc. I had to pass for a job for now, but thought ummm great way to make Christmas money, Cruise money.... Im just talking in circles sorry... I'll be back tomorrow. Geno may like this thing too. My nephew is considering... ok more tormorrow and I promise to make sense then... sweet dreams to you and Blue and Shirlee and everyone a good night!!! :)
awe that is so cute Becky,
awe that is so cute Becky, Geno is right :)
That test isn't mega hard, but still put all of your effort in it b/c the more prepared the less stress you have to have. You are gonna laugh, but I tell you the truth. I prayed hadn't cracked a book in a decade took it, and scored better than I thought. PHCC in Florida. I was going to go to nursing to help a friend, but just before I signed up, the situation changed. The friend was stronger, so God's timing was good there and all. You have such a caring and nourishing nature Becky, you are gonna be great in whichever of those fields that you choose. I hear ya on the fun stuff. I probably can't buy a boat ticket until like when they put the cancelation tickets up b/c I am only paying in cash, but I am hopeful. I actually have my stuff packed that I was going to take w/ in a suitcase and a shelf all to itself. Once I get a ticket this year, I don't care if I have to knock old woman out the way, take a plane, train or automobile.... I am going. I said last time as long as God made a way and God was, the end I got confused and messed up. I should have just said who cares about apps Im going anyways, I still lost benefits so Ida been in the same boat. But, that is water under the bridge now onwards... what is done is done. With things beginning in a better motions, hopefully less stress, more happy days ahead.... FOR ALL OF US!!! I should proof this, but Idk why I am just so tired im about to fall asleep, be back tomorrow. Just had to say, keep going, take a break when you need to... just don't stop.... ummm "believin'"... I love Journey even still. Hey Kid Rock revived that song lately too. I even heard it being used in a marketing campaign..... oh before I go, I have an opportunity that I was presented with and I want to send a magazine to you and Shirlee so you at least can view and decide if you want to try it or not. It's selling co's marketing material. more tomorrow, but think about. :)
Oh.. and I'm also confused on
Oh.. and I'm also confused on what the heck I wanna be when I grow-up too...lol My husband and I used to make fun of our friend because he had 1000 things on his bucket list that he'd thought about going into, when we were kids. He wanted to be a truck diver, carpenter, priest, salesman, doctor.. the list goes on and on..lol. So, here I sit.. just about to turn 37 years old. Enroll in a community college for a degree in General Studies to transfer to a four year later. General Studies b/c I'm not clear yet. Originally, I was going for what I have done and know... medical billing plus health information technology associates applied science degree... yet I feel I'm capable of earning a bachelor's in something bigger b/c I just know I have it in me. So, I went back to my original plan in 2003 which was go for the associates in RN.. then to BSN... but I didn't think I'd like the clinical since I have a few health issues that may prevent the hard physical work of being a nurse. But, since then.. I've been reading everyone's advice.. and how if you are gonna go for a golden ticket... do something that interests you.. and have a passion about.. which would be social work, human services, and psychology. I think my dream job would be a case manager for IDD/MH groups.. perhaps a case manager in a group home setting or facility or in special education working with children. Which there are a few agencies here now that are looking for a ppl to work in an adult group home.. considered house parents.. but the pay's not that great... only about 50 cents more an hour then minimum wage. I think ya do medication management, cook dinners for the home, take them to appts, and make sure daily tasks of living are being met. But anyway.. now I'm thinking a bachelor's in psychology...lol Meanwhile, I found out I DO have to take the placement test again... so I've been nonstop brushing up on prealgebra.. what's the greatest common factor? Geno said it was me ; ) lol
Hi Bobbie, there's just not
Hi Bobbie, there's just not much in our paper.. only about 6 - 8 new jobs per day. I check every day.. newspaper, careerbuilder.com, I check the big corp. websites for openings.. like the hospitals, and then careerlink which only posts maybe 2 jobs per month in my field. Pretty bad out there. I've been real honest with my present boss telling him... "hey, I have to look for something with better pay", and he understands, but at the same time, with not much out there... I have to keep what I have. This job makes it hard to go for another part time job b/c he gives me the crappy hours... pretty much working to give all the full timers their days off.. thus the 2 days on third and the 2 days on second.. and it takes one full day to recoop myself just to get back to night time sleeping... so the day in-between those shifts I force myself to stay up all day but still the day is ruined b/c I can barely function on anything - due to no sleep. Plus now, trying to balance out an upcoming college schedule to work around this present schedule... not an easy task. If I could change anything... I wish it would be that I'm working all on one shift because it would make it a lot easier to sleep, wake, school, and work... and then in the meanwhile my hope is the job market gets better while doing schooling. Yet, I can't help to not wanna find a full time stressful well-paying job this very instant because I can't bare to miss out on the fun things that will be coming up.. like cruises, and concerts, ect. All I guess I can do is keep going thru the motions to make things better until it gets better, ya know. Have a good one.
It's a way to volunteer, and
It's a way to volunteer, and give back. Thanks for your kind words, Bobbie. Nice benes, lol.
Oh and Blue - stop worrying..
Oh and Blue - stop worrying... YES, there is dental, life and disability as well as an employee discount. :)
oh depending on how I do on
oh depending on how I do on the last part of fast, I will or won't be here, if I get grumpy, I'll spare you guys. Put you through enough already :) maybe after. and BLUE THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR ENCOURAGEMENT TO MYSELF AND OTHERS TOO! You should be a consultant for folks. You could do it all online and via phone or if need be skype :)))
gotta go... the sunshine is waiting to greet me, wahooooo!!!
Well I've been doing the
Well I've been doing the Daniel Fast for 11 days. Vegetables ( I always here Wolf Gang Puc when I say that word. He says it vega TABLES ...lol ) anyway, veg. and fruit. These next three days, taking away the veg and fruit. It cleans your body of yucky stuff that slows ya down. Insurance Company Tues and Thurs, the other local part time job starts this week end. ( They had to wait until yearly inventory done before bringing in new. They just finished day before last.) And.... full time hire, pending paperwork being processed, but for a nationally recognized, private owned Franchise, so I think if they say that it probably holds more than the little dental office around the corner I wanted. It was excruciating but it was exactly what I was looking for. Don't get me wrong if a offer that is better and allows for a life too, at least a little bit of one, I will take it for better finances. But for me, life is more important that big bucks. Regardless of what I have to give up for it. I've had both and I speak from experience. I'm grateful for both, but time is more important to me now for living. The more trained I get on the full time, the part time ones will fade out, so I'll get there by the Grace of God. So will you Shirlee, keep going and know that even though we have to keep going it is ok to stop and catch your breathe regardless of what anybody else says. Trust God with as much as is in you and follow your heart. Call me anytime! I'll still be here, but just saying you don't have to wait. If I can't answer, leave a msg or I can't call you back :))) Have a beautiful day!
Well I don't wear heals much
Well I don't wear heals much anymore so... I used flip flops for inbetween run ins to see whos hiring. Not the nice ones, just the go run to the store, leave by the door ones... and now I have blisters inbetween my toes. Oh my gosh, memories of first moving to Florida came back. My first day there, I'm balancing on the canal wall walking... then I feel these little stings, then fire. So, I jump off into... sand spurs, and breaking in flip flops for the first time... lol I was like, where did my Dad get me, weird trees, no limbs and all this too, great. Then it got better, this stuff will too - night ladies :)))
A lot of good advice there
A lot of good advice there Blue :) Shirlee, let me know how things go. Love you guys!!! :)))
For general appts......be
For general appts......be clean, well groomed, and wear something similar to what is being worn there for the interview. If you want a promotion, from the getgo wear what the supervisors are wearing.
Easy on the makeup, mani, pedi, unless that's the place you are applying. Carry a satchel for your resume. Be earnest, listen, and look the interviewer in the eye. Research the business first, read local news articles, get an annual report, and mention facts you learned as reasons why you feel you will be a good fit. Do not flirt or be coy.
Do not be afraid of walking in off the street to apply for any position, go to the recruiting office or ask for human resources or the boss.
Remember to say how much you want to work there and why. If they ask about your faults, express them as positives.
Watch the interviewer, and the employees. Do they seem happy? Busy and focused? Will you interview later with your supervisor? Or go straight into a training program? Most say leave the money and benefits negotiations for the second interview.
Be careful. If your supervisor has issues and is rude, sexually overt, angry, a screamer....then that will be your fate. Your supervisor determines your fate at a company. If they like and support you, then you'll advance. If they don't.....you can be stuck doing the same boring thing for decades.
No, the bigger corporate ones
No, the bigger corporate ones know exactly who they are looking for, their earnings depend on it. You definitely have to fit in the "mold." For me, I liked vintage suits, shoes, make up, and helmet hair, and I liked talking to people and making things as easy for them as possible. I liked to travel for work, just to get me out of the backyard. I liked solving problems, and most of all getting things to move. Better faster and with more profit.
Ive been thinking
Ive been thinking (OOHHHHSHITTT) and its very interseting how all these biznesses are looking for someone,.some even make ya take a silly test,...Iif they know what they want why are they always needing to fill a postistion?,...in other words,.ovasiliy thire not hiring the "Right " person in the 1st plaxce.
Bex, another one from Dad...
Bex, another one from Dad....he used to make us practice in front of a mirror for speeches, interviews, etc., until we had it pretty cold. In a sense, you memorize it. Worked for me. Still do it today.
Shirlee, you are a hard
Shirlee, you are a hard worker, you are great at time management and goal orientated ( you have to be to do you own bus stuff on the side ), so make sure to add those qualities. Honestly I will do my best, but unless God gives me favor nothing is gonna happen, when he does... out of nowhere it will :) Becky just be you, you have a glowing presence, I only know from pics, but it shows. Trying to put nerves aside as much as possible, just try to remember some of the most important points on your resume and focus on those! You guys are going to great I know you can and I know you will! Blue, thanks for your encouragement to us all and others, that's way cool!
Well, now that my system is working again ( yep bad link - you were right Bex ), I have to look into some other opportunities. Until I hear the words "You are hired full time and you start dadada " I am gonna keep going by the Grace of God! Later guys & God bless all of you, over the top! :))) Kid Rock too, doesn't he have something today &... Ty & Jr as well!!! Now there is a hard working bunch & it shows! ok... later :)))
I'm not much for sales either
I'm not much for sales either.... I speak for shit... I'm really bad at it. I listen really well, maintain good eye contact, but when I go to speak.. I don't sound mature. I've created a resume that's so intensively well thought-out, professional, and so good... that when I do go for an interview... they are not gonna believe I wrote it and will be probably be unconvinced just because I speak like an old person who has dementia. It's like this... I can never find the words I want to use at the very moment.. like it will take a good couple of seconds for my brain to process.. and by that time... I'm either looking up, rolling my eyes, saying 'um' for the millionth time, or putting my foot in my mouth ; ) Perhaps it's an issue of that I'm worried about what the other person is thinking... well probably is... but ughhhh, the interviewing process is so stressful b/c ya wanna make the very best impression.
Awesome that you are getting some hits, Bobbie Jean. I'd be hesitant about clicking on links too. And, I agree with the Ma and Pop thing... I'm working for one now... tho making only minimum... I have a ton of time to study while on the actual job ; ) So, it's a great way to utilize the position I am in for the time being.
Best of Luck to you Shirlee and Bobbie !!
1bbs- how about something on
1bbs- how about something on the lines of: "There's only one me and I'm irreplaceable."
or tell a true and real life story that explains how and why you stand out from others..
Triple L Blessings
Hot damn, Bobbie, so glad to
Hot damn, Bobbie, so glad to see you are getting some choices. Will pray you get the one you want. You have a great week as well!
Depends on what field you
Depends on what field you want a job in, Shirley. Give me specifics and I can try to help.
I know this sounds a little
I know this sounds a little harsh Shirlee, but you have to sell yourself. My whole problem over the time off is that I really wanted something that allowed me to have a little life, so I focused on Mom and Pop places and although I was willing to cut my salary in half, they still couldn't even get me in the door w/ that. I couldn't go lower than that. Even w/ that I would have had to do a little part time something & would not have minded. I had two corporate opportunities a few months ago and I let my Mom talk me out of them. Big mistake on my part. In retrospec all, ALL jobs that I had came to me literally I never had to go ask for any, I mean to my door through others. So did these, so I prob blew my chances that God was bringing me. Hopefully He will forgive my stupidity & bring me another. He will ik, just time. You can do this too Shirllee, I know that you can. Just go in there and let your light shine! You are beautiful - I wanted to comment on your cruise pic and forgot to go back, but girl you are really gorgeous! Go get 'em, I know you can! :)))
I am loyal, dedicated, hard
I am loyal, dedicated, hard working. I am a fast learner. I have an optimistic attitude and believe that anything is possible by the Grace of God. There are no challenges, only opportunities.
Hope this helps Shirlee :) Love and hugs to ya :)))
