(Birthday Wish Continued) Would you mind that at all Kid? I’d love to actually meet you at some point and get on the cruise. I have a prescription from the Doc who changed my life to take the vacation of a lifetime before I see him again in June of 2012. I think the “Chillin’ the Most Cruise” could fulfill both of those wishes! Look for the girl in the custom Yzerman jersey in Louisville and the orange celiac shirt in Nashville and Evansville. I've got at least 98 songs on my iPod that is always with me, especially in the hospital. Nobody inspires fight and strength like KID ROCK!!

Happy Birthday! I’ve decided to give you a story for your birthday about your 2008 birthday for your fortieth. January 16, 2008 I had major abdominal surgery to remove an entire system of organs. I coded in post-op and was as close to death as I’ve ever been in my life. I’ve done my share of stupid things and this scared me more than any of them. I woke up on January 17, 2008 in the hospital at 6 AM feeling better than the day before, but still like a Mack Trick did a number on me. At 7:30 the nurse came in to tell me that the surgeon who did the operation called in on his day off that he was supposed to be spending with his beautiful family to find out how I was doing and to let me know he was behind me all the way. It took years of pain and suffering on my part to find out what was wrong and this Doc cared enough to call me personally on his off time as well as pushing for tests and surgeries (2 in less than 90 days) as quickly as possible. His partner came in about an hour later to check on things and said he never saw a patient healing from such a traumatic surgery at such a fast rate. They had to go through 7 and a half inches of abdominal muscle to get rid of everything that was causing the pain. I had a huge respect for Ericsson playing in the playoffs so soon after they took his appendix out because of this procedure. By the time that Doc left I was in awesome spirits and got up the nerve to start walking around because it would help me heal faster. By noon, I was in less pain than I had been in for many years and was laughing and joking with the nurses. When I left the Hospital, the nurses all stopped in to tell me they were going to miss their happiest patient. I guess you could say January 17, 2008 was the first day of the rest of my life. I almost think I should adopt your birthday as mine since I now share mine with the anniversary of the VA Tech Massacre.

Happy Birthday Soul Mate. I rounded up my friends (who r just like you and your friends) and held a 40th birthday bash in your honor in small town, MN. We loaded the juke box for 2 hours with all your music & toasted u every 30 minutes. It was great. You'd have been proud. Ill c u 2.26 in chicago from the 5th row. And holy shit u would be even prouder of the pain i'll endure 2morrow nite getting a tattoo of your most profound lyrics!
