Watching the Philly news at work this am and come to a disturbing story. It is messed up that a store in the mall like Spencer's can get away with selling shirts let alone... but ya can't wear them in the mall. I posted this on the Kid Rock boards because I am aware of Kid Rock wearing and supporting a similar type shirt. C'mon man.. "this is 'Merica.. we speak 'Merican here"!!!!
I can't help but feel for the family involved being that I myself and my husband just lost his father to cancer last month. I will NEVER step foot into this mall EVER AGAIN !!!
There's no reason to work for the man in this wonderful country of ours. Just met with my husbands , now my business partner to go over the details of the new company . He and my spouse ave been working on patents for sometime and he's has quite a few and other ventures and seeing how he has some free time now we decided upon our venture of passive income bringing in about 15 g a day to start. I'm gonna be busy doing the marketing portion since I have all the contacts until it gets going and off the ground and then well, fishing, writing a few songs.
ever wants to take your essentials and just check out on your current life. Pack your bags, get in the car, spin the bottle and ever look back? Some days i just want to do that. Take me and my cat and just take off to somewhere better then here.
I swear some days the ppl in my life are incessant about being assholes to me and then wonder why i want to leave for good. Just get a map out or google someplace and go there. Find a job, find a decent place to live and check out of my current life.
Perhaps i may be a bit crazy...but perhaps i might be the most sane person you know?
That's the one. It's not a very good version of the song. I don't think they rehearsed it, just came out and had Kid jump on because everyone knows those lyrics.
I'm sure I will pick up some Beam to get the download. I'll have a little Beam and Coke on occasion.
Thanks Bart, there is one video out there that I know of with he and Mellencamp singing it at a FarmAid a couple of years ago. Spirited, but, horribly out of tune. Sure hope he includes this new version on the new CD. The only way you can get it now is through a contest at the Beam site. Never touch anything but rum, so out of luck there, lol.
I just checked again and there isn't a setlist for HOB - Boston yet. Sometimes it takes a few days.
There is a mention on the Home Page news about an exclusive Jim Beam version for "Pink Houses". Must be when it was recorded.
There is an old recording that I have of Kid and John singing Pink Houses together. Most of it is Mellencamp and then he introduces Kid. Seems like it was the fundraiser for the 9/11 families, but I'm not sure.
Just checked http://www.setlist.fm/. The two dates are up, but no info yet. Wish someone would add them, he's doing some new stuff on this Jim Beam tour, like Mellencamp's Pink Houses. Which for some reason, peeved the guy at gawker.com no end. LOL.
Funny because if you know Mellencamp's background....Johnny Cougar, managed by Tony DeFrieze, wealthy family background and childhood, first band Crepe Soul, freak band "White Trash" (google a pic of that band for a chuckle), etc., in his early days he was considered pretty much the way Bob is to some now. One of his record people was quoted in an article that John "would sell is grandmother for a hit." And another decade of work, and now Mellencamp is "sincere" compared to Bob. I love the music business, lol.
I use www.setlist.fm and it has most bands. Sometimes it takes a few days to get the info, but they are pretty good and reliable. You can google "kid rock setlist" and it will be in the top five.
Probably a mix of both. I would doubt "Son of Detroit", "Times Like These", "Fat Bottom Girls", or "Forty". He normally only plays SOD and Times Like These in MI/Detroit shows.
Something more like this is what he played on the cruise:
Devil Without a Cause
Rock Bottom Blues
Forever
Flyin' High
Cocky
All Summer Long
Purple Sky
Midnight Train to Memphis
Wasting Time
Slow My Roll
Cowboy
Lay It On Me
God Bless Saturday
Care
So Hott
Bawitdaba
Encore:
Rock N Roll Jesus
Only God Knows Why
Born Free
Thanks Mr Bart-
I was thinking maybe he'd do similar to the 5-14 -
devil, you never met, all summer, cowboy, lay it on me, rock bot, purp sky, pict, bawit, times like these, R&R Jesus, Only God nows why, Born free, enc, son of detr, wasting timeand gb sat.
Vegas was:
Devil Without a Cause,Rock Bottom , Forever / Cocky , Slow My Roll , What I Learned Out on the Road , Purple Sky , I Got One for Ya' , Cowboy , Lay It On Me , Saturday , Wasting Time , Fat Bottomed Girls,Fuckin' Forty , Picture ,3 Sheets to the Wind (What's My Name), So Hott , Bawitdaba
Encore:All Summer Long , Drift Away,Krack Rocks , Rock N Roll Jesus , Only God Knows Why , Born Free
He's been playing a pretty similar setlist over the last year. I would expect about the same. My guess would be something similar to the CARE tour. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll try to post it.
He normally plays about 2 hours and 15 minutes, so he will probably go on about 8:45, so that he is done at 11pm. Most venues like to end the shows about 11pm.
anyone going this Friday to the House of Blues?
I'd love to know the setlist....last setlist out there is from the Fox Theater on 5-12....wonder if there will be new list to kick off the Jim Beam series.....
