Worlds collided at the Fox Theatre on Saturday night.

Fans in tuxedos mixed with fans in jeans and T-shirts. Beethoven ran up against "Bawitdaba." And Leonard Slatkin, the music director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, went head-to-head with Kid Rock, as Rock conducted his own version of the DSO, his Twisted Brown Trucker band.

It was all part of Rock's fundraiser for the DSO, the idea for which was hatched more than a year ago. And the evening was a resounding success: The Fox was a full house, and Rock announced late in the show that the concert had met its goal of raising $1 million for the DSO.

I'm from Ohio, When I heard about the Kid Rock/DSO Benefit thru the E-Mail I rec'd, I immediately ordered the Diamond VIP passes for my Sister and I (we could have been the first to order at that level)...Then finding out we would be included in the afterparty, we thought it could be a "Once in a Lifetime" chance to meet him in person. The Concert was Great, Seats were Excellent, the Afterparty at the Fillmore was Fantastic, and the only thing that could have made it a completly Perfect Evening would have been to actually get to meet Kid Rock/Bob Ritchie ....If there is another Benefit sometime, we might get another chance for that Perfect Evening... I did find out who The Mystery Man was at the Kid Rock Concert, who tried to get my son, Kevin, closer to the stage. He asked for my e-mail because he wanted to send Kevin something. My thoughts were this person won't e-mail me, yes he did today. I now know his name but i am not going to reveal yet. What I can say is he is from Canada and owns a construction, consulting, design business with locations in Windsor and Toronto. Yes he did ask for more contact info from us. So only time will. This just goes to say that Kid Rock not only does great things for others, but he brings out the good in others to help. Again amazing concert, and thank you for all you do for others. Bless you kid rock.

I am a student of life and its all-encompassing artistry. I have seen and experienced an incredible breadth of life’s panorama, but – and I use this word very judiciously – I have NEVER before born witness to ANYTHING more masterful than your artistry, Mr. Ritchie, in your performance with the DSO!!! I cannot walk or see straight right now. I am stumbling around, shaking my head, saying WOW and a few expletives before and after, so mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually moved like NEVER before. My soul has been forever changed in the most fundamental and deeply profound manner. So humbly words cannot fully express, thank you for sharing your MAGIC with me.

I was blown away! I was amazed at the complimentary sound the DSO gave to each and every one of your already amazing songs! I do hope a cd is made out of last nights performance! The energy in the room last night was so exciting! Every walk of life was there, enjoying this incredible experience! The love for our city came through not only in the performances but also all that attended! It was truly an incredible experience and one I am so thankful I had the opportunity to attend! Best Mother's Day present EVER! Xo

I have been to more Kid Rock concerts than I can count and this was one of the best! Loved the tuxedo even if it was for only one song! Jessie and Shannon and the rest of TBT sounded awesome with the DSO. Glad the fans could help raise money for such a great cause. I am hoping for some DTE dates for the summer!!!! We cannot go an entire summer with no Kid Rock show in the D. Had the best time last night. Thanks for all you do,

WOW!!! UNBELIEVABLE, YET BELIEVABLE BECAUSE IT’S YOU!!! AMAZING!!! I’m out of words because I really cannot describe how INCREDIBLE it was to see you ‘live’ for my first snippet of one of your concerts! And with the DSO!?!?! I cannot wait to see you live for my first whole concert for you were…I have no more words, just this awesome feeling after seeing the YouTube videos. I am awe-struck and further humbled by your artistry. I really enjoyed Bawitdaba, which is one of my all-time favorites!!! I can’t ever get that beat out of my head and soul…and I don’t ever want to. You are masterful! Ok, I’ll stop my blathering which is not a common thing for me, really not something I do ever, but I have never been so moved. I’ll go do my puzzle and see if I can calm myself. Good luck to me :) WOW!!!

Happy Mother’s Day, Mrs. Ritchie!!! I deeply and humbly thank you for your faith in, commitment to, and love of your son. We all owe you our deepest gratitude for – as Tim McGraw says – your son is a “Real Good Man” and he inspires us all with his musical artistry, philanthropy, business acumen, dedication to family, friends, neighbors, and those he’s never met, as well as his beautiful Christ heart. Well done, good and faithful servant, well done. I hope you are having a glorious Mother’s Day. God bless you, Mrs. Ritchie. Thank you, AnneBeierSchock, for your touching story about Kevin’s joy and thank you, too, to the Mystery Man for his heart and efforts. Thank you both for bringing such joy to one of God’s precious children. Bobbie Jean_2, well said and I couldn’t agree more. I’m off for my daily walking adventure in God’s glorious creation to reflect on all you have accomplished, Mr. Ritchie, and to breathe deeply contemplating the magnitude of your awe-inspiring efforts and gracious heart. I hope you are resting and peace-filled. God bless you.

26 Photos of Kid Rock and the DSO from last night if you google in: Beethoven meets 'Bawitdaba' as Kid Rock jams with DSO. Another Great Review, also from The Detroit News! It includes the Set List. It's a different article filed under Opinion DetroitNews written by Adam Graham.

Was an amazing show. Going to the show was the request of my son Kevin for his 31st birthday which is today. Kevin is totally disabled in a wheelchair, he was born with cerebral palsy and some developmental challenges. But he loves Kid Rock only our 2nd concert, 1st was @ The Huntington Center in Toledo another great small venue seats 8000. Big thanks to the mystery man who wanted to take Kevin closer to the stage. He would not tell me his name, but he was able to whisk Kevin right by the black suited security person when he was not letting other people thru. Not sure who you are, kept referring to Kid Rock as Bob his given name. He wanted to get Kevin close enough so Kid Rock could see Kevin and Kevin could get a better view of Kid Rock. Again Mystery Man thank you for trying to get Kevin closer, could not get Kevin closer because of another person in a wheelchair. May take me a while to pay off the tickets but is was so worth the joy it bought my son. Great job Kid Rock and the DSO for raising $1,000,000 for the DSO. Thank you for all the great things you and The Kid Rock Foundation do for the Metro Detroit Area. You are a hometown hero. God Bless Robert Ritchie.
