    'The Daily Tribune' has posted a great article on Kid Rock's collaboration with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and how it all came about. Here are highlights from it:

    “I thought it would be something different, to play with an orchestra,” explains Rock (real name Bob Ritchie), 41. “I want to do stuff that does fit and I want to do stuff that absolutely doesn’t fit and ... do stuff differently. It’s not going to be how people have seen me before at all, in any regard. It’s going to be a complete 180. I’m just gonna try to make it something that people have never seen and probably never will see again.

    “All I can guarantee is it’ll be interesting.”

    And, he adds, it will be for a good cause. Even though he’s never attended a DSO concert, Rock says the orchestra — which is still feeling the after-effects of the 6-month 2010-11 musicians’ strike as well as a challenging economy — “is important to me, of course. As a musician, a cultural institution like that in Detroit is important, and I thought I could do something to help.”

In attendance with adult daughter gift from hubby/dad for Mothers Day. I ve been to several KIdRock concerts. I was born and raised in the D, 7 miles from Tiger Stadium, and I would like to commend and thank Mr. Ritchie for all of the love and support he has given to this community and state of MI. One of my favorite moments of Kids' concerts is when he orchestrates his band with his back to us, (usually shirtless...but that might have been too over the top for the more mature and distinguished members last nite) When that moment came, I was so happy and proud to be there and I knew he was having the time of his life.That image alone was worth the price of admission.Thank you sexy Maestro!! Another unforgettable experience.

I attended the DSO/Kid Rock concert last nite and it was Fabulous! I liked the 180 change and it was magical..

I hope you are having lots of fun! Finished off my second beer (lightweight when I’m not dancing), made good headway on the puzzle frame, and finished watching “He’s Just Not That Into You.” All in all, a good night. Didn't know what to expect what w/you playing w/the DSO but it was totally awesome!! The DSO/you was a perfect combo!! Thank you "again" for another perfect concert and for your help w/the fund raising for the DSO.

Have never posted on here but I felt the need....after seeing Kid approx. 50 times tonight was just as amazing.....was not quite sure what to expect with the DSO and once we sat down and a "stuffy uptight couple" probably in their 60's sat next to us hearing her bitch half of the night because people were standing and she chouldnt see the orchestra blah blah, but by the end of the night she was finally up dancing to another BAD ASS Kid show!!! What a way to celebrate my hubby's 40th!! Thank you Mr. Ritchie!!

Congratulations, Mr. Ritchie! I believe with my whole heart your concert symphony was a magical time. When does the drinking start? (Adorable Shoulder Shrug) Thought I’d pop the top on my first Moose Drool to join in in honor of your night. I’m putting together a puzzle and watching Pretty Woman (good boy & girl rainbow kinda movie – always a good pick me up – pardon the pun). Thinking of you. Have lots of fun tonight!

What a beautiful venue!!! So deserving of your artistry and your historic collaboration!!! Thank you for saying yes you would help when you were asked. I am happy to hear of how the orchestra is going to complement your art with theirs. I am visualizing you in the beautiful Fox and have been playing classical symphony music here altering it with streaming “Born Free” for my own private concert.
