Went Detroit and Clarkston last weekend! Loved it!! The Union was great and Union Woodshop food was wonderful. The only thing missing was shot glasses to take home. Clarkston is a beautiful town. We even saw a Falcon F-7 there one of the very 1st of its kind from what I've read-awesome car by the way. Detroit was great too......not it is portrayed on t.v. All was good except for when we were crossing the state line. We are from southern Ohio evidently all cars from here become a target there....we were pulled over for "tail gating" the car ahead of us- which we weren't! After 20 minutes and 1,000 questions including where we were going and when were we coming back he let us go. Classic example of racial profiling! But all in all trip was Great!

Clarkston is wonderful! The last time I checked u were allowed to go anywhere even Michigan! Lol and stay as long as we want! We didn't let one ass hole cop spoil our trip tho. Go to clarkston! Have fun!
OMG.....that reminds me of a
OMG.....that reminds me of a funny story. A few years ago I surprised my husband with a dinner cruise on the Maumee River and a ride to Toledo, OH in a limo (we are from Michigan). We were pulled over in Toledo and the police said straight out that he was looking to see if we had drugs. He said "drug dealers rent limos and come down here and sell their drugs" Sorry, just a couple celebrating their anniversary, but it gave us a good laugh! We are planning a "staycation" this Summer and making day trips around Michigan. Clarkston is #1 on my list!!!!

lol Bart and SJ..usually it is the Ohio police that are on the MI plates for tailgating (because we all know you Ohio drivers are slower than crap--JUSTT KIDDING!!!) I think if I were SJ, I would wonder about all of the attention though.
My brother-in-law, who is of Italian descent, quit flying to Mexico b/c he was always detained in security and missing his flights..he swears, b/c he looks like a 'security risk???' So there are other ppl that would commiserate with you, SJ.

Thats because if you live in either state you are automatically a target. Didn't you know you are drug dealer?! Lol I guess that's what the law enforcement thinks any way. Lord knows I'm the furthest thing from that. A black guy a white female and a dodge challenger! Drug dealers! Not. Racial profiling? Forsure! Wish I had got a badge number!

Glad you enjoyed.....Funny, I'm from MI and have always had more issues with the Ohio police, than the MI state police.
Maybe it's an "out of state" thing??
