Kid Rock made it to Orchestra Hall at the very un-rock and roll hour of 10 a.m. Thursday to rehearse with Leonard Slatkin and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for their concert Saturday night. Dennis Nulty , the DSO's principal tuba, said Rock looked fresh as a daisy and excited to be there, despite the hour. "He was really personable, down to earth as can be," Nulty said. The rocker sat in a chair playing guitar with the classical musicians, garbed in a backwards baseball cap. "It's good to meet somebody who's such a supporter of Detroit," Nulty added. "You can tell he's enjoying the time onstage."
