My thoughts too, Shirlee, I would imagine Sixthman's got some form of place set up in case someone needs medical attention, to hydrate, or take a moment of shade besides the bar, food pavilion, and lil chapel.. we'll be okay :)

@KRCVAL - I did read somewhere that they do have washers/dryers and irons available I believe on every floor. Assuming that it would be quite expensive to try and do any laundry. And I know I'm going to bring Wrinkle Releaser. Because I don't like my clothes being wrinkly and I don't want to worry about walking all around to try and iron clothes if they need it!

I was talking with a friend about the shade and my intentions to insure that it is provide as KRCVAL stated and she asked "how do you know if tempory shelter will be set up or not"? I thought hummmm she's right, surly being on a beach and with the other activites planeded surly someone in chagre has made arrangments for some type of cover. What do yall think? and has sixthman been asked about that...I think the cruise people should provide cover areas.

Thankfully we took out insurance but I think you cannot wait until the last minute to cancel so I will look up contract and go from there. Thanks for all the prayers everyone.

My cabin will probably be available as it does not look like we will be able to go. With time length that Mark's mom can stay on the vent then be taken off is all to near cruise time. I am not getting my hopes up that this is going to happen for us this year. She has been in hospital for 67 days now.

lol Val, getting off the boat & running for the nearest tree! You guys ever notice cattle or sheep all gathering around the only tree in a field, trying to get shade...lol that's what I envisioned Val. Bring plenty of sunscreen & your hats. Can't wait to hear about the trip!

Yes Cheryl, we can all share. We are thinking of going Kayaking one day and bikeriding another (even tho it wasn't recommended-I'm going to try to make it work)..I can just see everyone getting off their boats and running for the nearest tree to "save" it--lol

Shirlee, sounds OK to me--I was more worried about the bulk carrying it around, but sounds like you don't have that worry...Maybe staff is concerned with real tall umbrellas blocking views at the Show? Dunno.
All I know is Imma going to need some shade sometime, and I am more than willing to provide it for myself if necessary :)

I got the blue and white one Val (beach shelter). It was $39.99 reg. price but I used my Dick's points (see, buying all that baseball equipment for my son and vball stuff for my daughter paid off after all).

Thanks Laurie, spent the week here in the UP searching for one..struck out at Menard's and Walmart.
Will hit Dick's when I get home: )
I hope I do not go over the luggage weight limit with all of the great suggestions here on the site..
Here's a question that may affect my packing..are there washers/dryers on the boat? Or should I just leave the underwear at home? (JUST JOKIN"!!!!)

I got a beach tent thingy yesterday at Dick's Sporting Goods. I think it's small enough to carry as a carry on. It's just a half moon design with no floor but it should provide at least a little shade.

BIGFISH ~ not a pop up tent, a travel beach shelter. Very small. I called Carnival, and "Bob" (LOL) said, "If it is compact and folds up to the size of an umbrella, then you're good to go." He stressed not tents and understandably so.

I love the SUN and don't really need one of those Cabana thingy bobs - its a money maker for Carnival is all. They should provide them for the price we pay for the cabins and all other stuff related to cruise. Happy for Those who won them though. As long as the drawing was FAIR and done with proper taste to ALL who put in to win .
