Sail Away Show - Cover Songs You're Dying to Hear!
    Doah says (04 Mar '12)

I'm going on the cruise for the third time. First two were two of the best times of my life! I just can't wait for that feeling of the outdoor sail away show starting. Bobby has thrown in some covers. So, what covers would you want to hear this time around?

Me? I want Bobby to spotlight Jessie Wagner on the sail away show this time. That's something he hasn't done yet. I want her to come down, front and center and do a powerful duet with Kid! My vote would be for "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. Actually, they could do any song by those two and it would be AMAZING. Or, how cool would it be to have them do "It Takes Two" by Marvin and Kim Weston??? Heck, I would even be satisfied with Kid and Jessie doing "Love The One You're With"!

So, Bobby, if you're reading this, bring Jessie down, front and center, please.

Now, let me hear some of you other cruisers dream cover songs you'd love to hear on the sail away show.

This song is probably a little too soft rock for Kid & fans, but "Sailing" by Christopher Cross.

Quick story-took my kid's to see the Titanic exhibit yesterday (Thursday). It was probably not the smartest thing to do looking back on it since now my 10 year old is terrified about me getting on a boat in two weeks. Anyway, we got in the car and I said to them in two weeks, I'll be sailing away (since it was about 4:30 in the afternoon and I think we set sail at 4 ish). We turned on the radio, and Come Sail Away by Styx was just beginning. WE ROARED WITH LAUGHTER. Now, what are the odds of that?

I think a tribute to any one of the Artists that we have lost over this past year would be awesome.

~just change the word 'road' to 'boat'..lol

hmm.. I do like that Black Eye Peas song.. that would be a pretty cool challenge.. take out all the electronic and bring in the rock guitars and rock it out..haha Good thought D. JB, love both versions too.. I tend to think he starts off a lil country and works his way toward the rocking side by the end ... well maybe southern rock style anyway..lol. I was reading down thru the threads and saw your post about 'Kevin'.. sorry to hear about your loved one, prayers to you and yours.

I know he's done a country version of Fat Bottom Girls but I would love to hear him do it hard core rock style. And Tush is a good one Beckxy.

D4evr's picture

Beckxy, "Tush" is a great one too, and Also "Feel Like Making Love" ~Stelllar .... Maybe he will Video the "Redneck Paradise" Show and include with his 2012 release????? That would be sooooo sweet,!!!

D4evr's picture

I wish they would do the Cover of "I Got A Feeling" Black Eyed Peas,(If they did it, and IF Some1 Would PLEASE Shoot a video,? and share??? and with..."Keep your Hands to Yourself" and "Everyday People" Always my Favs!!! ( I also like the Female Bands Heart & Pistol Annie ~Theirs music is Great... ) Any Videos would be AWESOME, (or even a CD/Video If Rock was so inclined? :) Everyone is going to be Blessed somehow from this cruise .... Especially by experiencing the JOY sharred by those who participate :) Thank You n Advance :))) This, Vicarious Living, is a BLESSING !!!!

Heard him do 'Tush' too... that song rocks.. love to hear that

Me personally can care less about cover songs--I wanna hear them belt out some old school Kid Rock / TBT music..but I love me some bad bad leroy brown....and for me there's no better duet then Kid and Stefanie..I love when she moves from behind her drum set and takes center stage, but if not Stefanie then I'm all for my Redneck Woman herself Gretchen Wilson...

Triple L Blessings

KRSVal's picture

I would like to hear Seger's Mainstreet or hear them sing Ty's American Style :)

rocksavedmysoul's picture

I heard Sly and the Family Stone's EVERYDAY PEOPLE this morning and thought Kid and Jessie would sound great doing this on the boat!

Mr. Bart's picture

Thank you - I knew I missed some....but that list was getting long!

Tumblin' Dice - Rolling Stones

1bbshirlee's picture

They've done Tumbling Dice too

Mr. Bart's picture

How about all of the previous covers he has done in concert over the years? Some that I recall:

Burnin' Love - Elvis Presley
In Color - Jamey Johnson
ABC - Jackson 5
Midnight Rider - Allman Brothers
Fat Bottom Girls - Queen (country fried version)
American Band - Grand Funk Railroad (We'll pull your panties down!)
Walk This Way - Aerosmith/Run DMC
Country Boy Can Survive - Hank Jr.
Crazy Bitch - Buckcherry
Wastin' Time/Paradise City - GNR
Forever/Tom Sawyer - Rush
Sea Cruise - Frankie Ford (Had to google that one!)
Drift Away - with Kracker (RIP Dobie Gray)
Heaven w/ Paradime and Kracker
Sweet Home Alabama/All Summer Long/Werewolves - Extended version with each song

Then they can play the usual set during the Friday/Saturday shows. (Sorry in advance to TBT - for all the extra work on the songs....but maybe they would like to do something different?)
