Dear Rock,
I know you are currently working on the new album. I would like to make a couple observations. And because i believe i represent at least 75% of your audience, Which is middle aged women, I hope you are listening.
Yes, We are older now, but most of us have been with you from the beginning and we miss the profane, Nasty Kid Rock!!!! Your more recent stuff is great. Your songwriting skills are phenominal, but cant we have some of the BAD ASS back as well? Yes, I'm older now and respectable, lol, but my music tastes havent changed. My Current favorite song is Bow Wow's "Beat the Pussy Up". So what do ya say? Give us some songs that can't be sold at Walmart. Maybe a remake of "Classic Rock"!!!!
Ok My second observation... I believe "Born Free" was a great piece of work. Unfortunately, It wasnt well recieved by alot of your loyal fans. Not because of the songs, which were excellent. But because of the sound which was NOT Kid Rock and the Twisted Brown Truckers. Listening to those same songs, played by your band is a whole new experience and makes the recorded album sound sad. We love Kid Rock live. Please don't make us have to wait for a concert to hear the music the way it was meant to be played.
The reason so many of us try to make recordings of your live show is so we can hear the songs played by OUR BAND. Even though the sound quality is bad and the vid is poor and jumpy, Its still better than your songs played by some other "super Band"...
Please record the album with the Twisted Brown Truckers. It may not be Perfect but its what we love!!!!!
Thanks for listening
Just my humble opinion
Angel
<3 Love to ya Angel! Havent
<3 Love to ya Angel! Havent been on for quite a while, but I couldn't have said it better myself. It seems all that is played now a days is the same lollipop bullshit on the radio. Born Free is classic, and beautiful...I just rarely listen to it because it is too soft for me. Maybe when I am 70 I will listen to it more? I don't know, I am just assuming I will slow down a bit by then... What happend to the phrase "old enough to know better, young enough to do it again" ??? I think that is where I am at in my life. Wanna hear some old school, kick ass, bad ass, Kid Rock !!!
Totally agree! I love
Totally agree! I love everything Bobby does, but lets get back to what made him our Kid "Rock God" Bawitaba Yaaaaaa!!!!!!
As long as it rocks and has
As long as it rocks and has Steph beating the crap out of the drums, like in So Hott!
Well said, Angel!
Well said, Angel!
Bobby, although I agree with Angel's point, I also understand that sticking with one genre, if you will, closes the box and is not condusive to a growing fan base. Ultimately you're a business and you need profits to continue your ventures of all types. I have heard many fans share feeling in tune with Angel's. Whatever you do, I'll support your music. It's the least I can do, as your music has done so much for me.
Forty-Fucking Something
kc
You know honestly i am
You know honestly i am waiting to hear what it sounds like and it's total content. I am interested to see which direction Bob will take. Where he will take the wheel from here...I mean RNRJ was great and IMO Born Free stepped the game up to the next level.
I know he said something about taking the Cocky route. When he said that the first thing that popped in my head was a few lines from the movie Rockstar from 2001. Basically we put so much of this and that in our records to keep our loyal fan base coming back and happy.
And no i ain't telling Bob what to do he is driving this record. I am just saying i will be interested to see what it sounds like, what he does and where he takes the music from here....and i will try not to be judgmental in the least if i do or don't like it. But i will be brutally honest about it when i hear it is all i can say. I usually am fair and give a new release a few listens. The first time isn't always the best time as far as listening to records...specially if an artist changes directions, etc. You gotta see if there are "nuggets" in there as Steven Tyler would say. I sometimes have with The Midwest Fall off of Racing Father Time. And who outside of this board and some loyal other fans has even heard that song? And maybe a few diehards in Michigan that don't internet...the answer is no one. Those songs like that sometimes make a record for me....
Anyway best wishes Bob. Hope you put out a solid, soulful, fulfilling record...
no hes pretty much my age too
no hes pretty much my age too .. but my point is about coverage and whats happening now and whos watching .. its all about marketing 101
Heck, Lisaloveskidrock, Jon
Heck, Lisaloveskidrock, Jon Bon is my age, and that ain't young, honey! lol (better maybe, though ;)
Ridrockangel u couldnt have
Ridrockangel u couldnt have said it better!!. While bobby branched out into a different genre of music, we said ok.. sounds ok (it went platinum) BUT .. whats he goonna do now? Continue on the Kid "soft" Rock: (thanks david spade for saying it) or will he play for the old school fans? Does he even read this shit? /shrug I mean he has even more coverage with the "younger class " now that romney picked bornfree as his campaign song, hes trying also to break into the country scene and now hes posting Bonjovi vidoes as john is about to go live with opra ... seems to me hes leanin toward the younger crowd wid teh soft rock shit. Hey Dave , wanna grab a drink?
Ms Behavin, Maybe ya just need some hormones hunny... Fried green tomatoes...lol

"And Bob, if you're reading this...we like raunchy ;) Something that makes us feel like we're twenty again. " EXACTLY!!!!!!!!
Glad you wrote this thread Angel. I agree, Born Free is a good album but not my favorite. We tend to listen to it late at night when it's quiet. My favs are: Prodigal son, and Black Bob. Love, love, love Jackson Mississippi. I think his lyrics are genius. The older stuff feels genuine, from his heart and why so many of us can relate. Not that Born Free wasn't from the heart, I just feel like it's too forced. And Bob, if you're reading this...we like raunchy ;) Something that makes us feel like we're twenty again.
I hope he writes a couple of songs with parts we, the fans, can join in and yell. Like when we all yell, "rock that bitch up and down the coast" and he doesn't sing. You know, all the parts in past songs where "we" shout out instead of him singing.
What? Saggy ,Old, Swamp Ass balls dont go in your mouth??? bwahahahaha
Yes, Val I've read that too, can't wait to hear it:) Everybody has their own favorite album.
I've read comments from here & FB people saying he should go back to making albums like DWAC, Cocky etc. but he's 41...he can't be singing about putting his balls in someone's mouth the rest of his life lol...though I love "Balls in your Mouth" song it's hilarious!!
My point is, please bring back some fun, raunchy stuff ;)
It will be interesting to see what the new album is like. I think KR has made comments that it will be more a rock and roll album (with everything else thrown in.)
I like Born Free; I think it was good for KR to work with Rick Rubin; Rick has a history of working with a variety of solid artists in the past (and present.)
Yes, TBT's rule! And ESPECIALLY Krause-I'm with ya Beckxy!
Thanks Blue and Yes, I cherish all my Live recordings and all the old school shows i have. and I spend way more time listening to those. Dont get me wrong Asking. I love the new stuff too, when played by TBT, I would just like him to throw in some fun, raunchy stuff too.
Fingers crossed you get your way Angel, lol! Live TBT is the best.
How can you tell that applies to you? You spend more time on YouTube and the like, then you do with the actual released CD, listening to and watching your favorite performances.
Good to see you feeling better and posting again. Hope you get stronger and feel better double time from now on.
You know there Is going to be a old school type dealio in the near future.Whining women....:)
lol.. so I had to come on and say... yes... I'm getting to that age I guess... not quite fucking 40 yet.. got a couple years to go for that.. but got carded today when I went into the liquor store to get my 100 proof Capt Morgan Rum for this weekend and the girl was like HOLY SHIT.. you are not.. and I was like... yes I am... guess it's cuz I have a young soul..lol Well.. it brighten my day and all but....
We talked with a friend a lil while back who said the next album is def gonna be great : ) And so I am looking forward to this up-coming album. Needless to say... no matter what album we find ourselves listening to... it always has brought up cherished moments and fond memories of the days gone by.. of being fans of Bob and the band... going to shows.. meeting up with friends, ect.
Bob has the best band, Love TBT.. each and everyone of them but......
' KRAUSE RULES !!! '
Damn, I guess I'm an exception to the rule... I'm not a woman first off, but in my honest opinion, I think he has evolved as an artist (as all artists do), and I miss TBT, but Rock and Roll Jesus and Born Free are my two favorites, they're always on the iPod & iPhone and always playing in the car! Looking forward to something new! I love it all but those are my two favorites and I'm sure I'll enjoy the new stuff as well...
Yep Those are my 3 fav songs on the cd also.. Maybe because that bands sound is better on slow, emotional, tear jerking songs lol
It's kinda funny for me, I typically don't like slow songs, but on Born Free that's what I'll go to first off that CD; Collide, When It Rains & Rock On, hmm...weird.
Nothing like hearing KR & TBT live for sure.
Exactly, Margo... For example God bless saturday played live is awesome.. The one on the album, I skip over...
I'm the same way, listening to a KR song thinkin' "did he just say that"...I love it, makes me smile :D
I agree with the Rubin comment too, Born Free sounded a little too polished up is the only way I can think of to describe it, didn't sound like Kid Rock & the TBT that we all love.
I listen to it, just doesn't stay in my CD player as long as the others.
And my comment about it not being perfect was a jab at Rick Ruben bringing together all these great musicians to give BORN FREE the perfect band. Well, Bob already has the perfect Band with the sound we have come to love. Thats what I want to spend my money on. If i want to hear Chad Smith ill go buy a chickenfoot album... I want my Stef, Jimmie, Jason, Aaron, Marlon, Dime, Larry, Dave, Jess and Shannon
