Hey beckxy I also LOVE to extreme coupon started it around christmas and when the bill showed at the grocery store I had saved 40 dollars I was Hooked `. Heck ya can even go out to dinner use your coupon and give the waiter a bigger TIP.

I agree Angel... in fact, I for one would be quite embarrassed going up to any KR friend, and asking them for bill money after I had just spent the money to go to a show or a cruise. I had not seen anyone asking for money... but it's crazy if someone is. At this point... if that was the case with me... I was smart enough in buying the cancel at anytime insurance just b/c I wasn't sure if I would still be able to swing it..... but it turns out we are doing great, cutting back by watching for sales and using coupons... saving a ton of money by not using the oil for heating this year..and used electric heaters... saved us a ton.. I'd say at least 1400 bucks alone this winter. Then I switched to Geico for our cars.. and saved 800 a year on that. This is shit that I had overlooked while going to work 40+ hours a week.. crazy what ya can save by just doing some simple things.

and this is where its all confussing (not lilerly) so I guess it choiceses, Ya see some choose to make sure thire homes and cars and education is paid in full while others pay and pay for such things. Then ya have those who stimulate the economy by partisapating with the goverment and banking/fianancig to buy stuff ....humm so I guess my point is to complex for me to exsplain so I'll just do as I can.

That would be me that you saw KRLO... well perhaps I may have not of been the only one here.. but I had a small 401K lump sum that I took out instead of looking for a way to roll it over somewhere. Honestly, after I lost more then I put into it during the big downfall of the stocks.. I thought the hell with it, and took what was left of it... which was about the cost of the cruise and paid it off. It was my earned money.. and I was gonna do with it how I pleased. It all started when I fell into some bad luck right after we had agreed with our cabin mates to go, and made the down payment to go on the cruise for the 3rd year... I lost my job a week later... yea, no kiddin' Thing is.. I didn't sit around... I went where I knew I'd get hired on the spot.. back to my old boss and friend.. it may only be part time, the wage may be a lot less, but it's a god damn job, ya know. I feel bad for the ppl who still can't find one. Anyway.. as they say.. what don't kill ya only makes ya stronger... and the 3rd KR cruise is just the beginning party for a new chapter in my life... between the husband and I.. it was well earned.

I hear ya girl, we're on the same page. maybe there will be some paradigm shift at some point and people will both take responsibility for their own shit and help one another with a clear conscience.

I think you hit the nail on the head, Jade--Anyone can need assistance at some point in their lives.
The longterm sense of entitlement is a BIG problem (the world owes me a living, job, a break, etc.)
At least I know the entitlement issue has been a huge problem in MI.

:-) I was just going to respond, Angel, but your second post came in just in the nick of time! I agree... I have no problem with short term help. Anyone can find themselves in unforeseen circumstances and need some assistance to get back on their feet. its the sense of entitlement to a long term free ride that is so fucked up.

and I can't help but point out many of the assholes taking advantage are republicans and/or religious conservatives as well. Neither party has cornered the market on selfishness. I also believe rich people who hide money and use tax loop holes to get out of paying their fair share of taxes are just as bad as people on public assistance.

I don't even know how to fix it at this point. how do you weed out the assholes and help those in real need? I know people who went on the cruise last year who complained in the months leading up to the cruise about how they had no money for food, couldn't pay their mortgage, were in danger of losing their home, etc. and they accepted donations from other fans. and then they went on the cruise. Its incredibly fucked up. but everyone has a "but my situation is different" story for why they need help and everyone else should be screwed. I can't afford the cruise this year so I'm not going. period. it wasn't even a hard decision... it doesn't make me less of a fan, I just would rather pay my own bills and my own way and keep some security for my families future than party it all away and hope that someone bails me out.

Angel, did you hear about the lady from Lincoln Park, MI who won the lotto (I think she won one million) yet she still collects her bridge card (low income food program here in Michigan)? They finally took it away from her when the media did a story on her. How do people sleep at night?

I have lived on good ole' Michigan Food Stamps twice in my life... I know that will probably never happen again.... but I tell you what, I have NEVER, nor will EVER forget it.... :)

FYI, I pay my bills and on Time and anytype of benifits I recive Im intitiled too....oh and when BUSH left office gas was $ 1.78 a gallon oh and one more thing before you posably call me a child molester or give me stacic about my grammer.....Ive never had to work this hard in life to make ends meet.
