My Grandparents last name is "Waffle"... about a decade ago my mom got my grandpa a Belgian Waffle Maker for Christmas... after everyone opened all their gifts, my grandma turns to my grandpa and says, "Leo, let me see your Waffle Maker.." everyone burst out in laughter, and my Uncle says, "Not now ma! Not in front of all the kids!" LOL

Man, I just love a good dick joke! Hahahaha!

Lisa: Reminds me of the time my dad's birthday cake had his name spelled out and the "i" was dotted with a shamrock (since he is Irish). My dad's name is Dick so when my 80 year-old mom saw the cake, she yelled out, "Oh look, they put a shamrock on your Dick." The WHOLE family died of laughter! LOL

LisaG67's picture

Ok, so. I can't post this on Facebook, as I may offend some of my elder relatives, but it's kinda cute so I must share: Driving my almost 15 year old daughter to volleyball practice and we pass a newly opened "Dick's Sporting Goods" store. She says, "Oh, can we stop at Dick's?" I respond with, "Why do you want to go there?" She quickly responds, "I don't know, I just like Dick's" I try to keep a straight face, when she says, "Wow, that sounded reeaally badd." And we both bust out laughing...A good laugh for us and a little female bonding....Needless to say, we went to Dick's...
On another note, I did a full body weight, ab, and cardio yesterday, and today was shoulders, abs and cardio...a little sore, but starting to kick some ass...: )

Wow, that's ambitious Shirl. I haven't done the splits since I was a cheerleader, many moons ago!

1bbshirlee's picture

Time to get back on the tredmill,. I just blew the last four or five days off, oh well just for that my new goal is to be able to do the splits onday, and hopfully soon, I have about a foot to go.

Haven't heard of the Brazilian Butt lift...It is good to mix up your routine though Samantha. That way, you don't get bored or hit a plateau...

Mrs Cedar Michigan's picture

I bought the Zumba Dvd 3 mos ago...Haven't opened it yet...lol

SamanthaMeldrum's picture

Has anyone every tried brazilian butt lift workouts? I've been hearing so much about it. I think I need to mix things up a bit because I'm getting bored doing my eliptical everyday! Any suggestions = )

They are the best, Lisa. We used to have 2 Siberian Huskies. They were beautiful dogs but very baaad. Our goldens are brothers that we adopted from a rescue. They were taken from a puppy mill when it got shut down. Riley is our gentle giant. He goes about 120 lbs. and Guinness is so playful he actually smiles! They love each other and play all the time. We also take care of my daughters dog, a little mutt and we have two cats. I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm glad you had a better day today. I can't imagine losing two dear friends as you did. Sending a hug :)
Think I'm done with the cabbage soup thing. Felt like I was really depriving myself so I had a hearty dinner tonight.

JB, Just saw on your profile that you have 2 Golden Retrievers. Mee too, well, that is, until last week. We lost Samson, our 12 year old Golden. We still have his sister Delilah. Luckily she seems to be doing okay. They are the greatest, aren't they? I also have 2 others, Ozzie the Weimaraner, and Stella Blue, the Australian Shepherd. Yeah, we are definitely dog people. Samson was the gentlest, most loyal dog ever. Delilah can be a bit bitchy at times, but we love her sooo much. I've had a better day today, each day gets easier...Didn't workout, however, I can barely move after yesterday...Planning on about an hour of cardio tomorrow...

K8, sorry didn't see your post yesterday. I'm not sure if it's the same. The one I make has a tomato base and lots of veggies; carrots, green pepper, onion, celery, canned tomatoes, and cabbage. It also calls for packet of onion soup mix and V8 juice, salt n pepper. We throw in beans for protein. I throw it all in Veg. broth. My husband loves it. I'm not a soup fan so I'm strictly doing it for weight loss. Works well for that.

Lisa, you are amazing. They say exercise is a good stress reliever. I hope it helps with your grief.
I tend to eat my emotions away. But I've been doing good this year. I credit my success with Kid's music. It motivates me to get up and move or in some instances lay down and move. heheehee

LisaG67's picture

Ok, back on the wagon for me. Enough grief and sadness...I did a literally ass kickin leg, ab and cardio workout today. Gonna be sore tomorrow, but am looking forward to it, I think...Got the weight off, lookin to build that muscle now...

K8's picture

Lisa ~ so sorry for you losses. I can't even imagine what you've gone through.

MSB ~ love that freak'n poem! Keigal on girl!

JustB ~ when we see a neighbor take out a palm tree, we like to take it and make "Swamp Cabbage Soup" with the hearts of the palm, is it the same kinda thing?

Wow, LisaJoneScollins, that is so tragic. When it rains, it pours...What a cruel disease. I am thankful my friend isn't suffering anymore, but she leaves behind a husband and 3 girls under the age of 10. Time to move on and treasure each day, enjoy life and enjoy the people you love...Peace out...

sorry Lisa
