Have You Thank A Veteran Today?

    By My son

On Thursday, it is Veteran’s Day. I am so thankful for our veterans — those of yesterday, those of today, and those of tomorrow.

I thank every veteran so much for risking their lives and for those who have lost their lives to do the things that we the civilians can not do and for keeping us safe. I really cannot express my fullest appreciation to our veterans, but I will always show them respect with a great amount of love, appreciation and honor.

It doesn’t matter what war they have fought in, what crisis they assisted in, or what operation they participated in, I will always have respect, love, appreciation and honor for all of them. Veteran’s Day is a national holiday for the public to show appreciation, thankfulness, and respect for our veterans. I would like to remind everyone that they too should be thankful for our veterans.

I also would like to add that whenever I see the American flag, it is a reminder to myself of the many sacrifices that have been made by our veteran’s and it is a great standard of the pride that we have, to be America! I see those wonderful colors: red, white, and blue — all with their own meanings. Red for hardiness, valor, strength, stamina and bravery. White for peace and honesty. Blue for vigilance, perseverance, justice, truth and loyalty. All colors represent a large part of what it means to be American.

Thank you so much to our veterans and to today’s military.

    God bless America!

My dad is a WWll vet. He was shot and captured by German solders. Escaped one day before they came in and killed all the prisoners. He doesn't talk about it...don't blame him. The first song he heard as a free man..."Don't Fence Me In"!!!
