I just read that there are some upset Detroit fans that are not happy to have Nickelback playing at the Thanksgiving game there in Detroit this year. I am a Nickelback fan but Detroit has so much talent right in their own city to choose from. Hopefully they will be serving some Bad Ass Beer at that game. It souds like lots of pissed off fans will be wondering around during halftime.

KRCVal No one says it has to be Kid Rock everytime. Detroit is rich in music there is no reason to get a band from Canada to play. I like Nickleback thats beside the point. Its a time to really showcase Detroit. How bout a little Motown or something. As far as Seger he is doing his second leg which is the perfect reason to do the halftime show.He has off the 20th 21st 22nd 23rd and 24th so he certainly IS available to play a song during a halftime show in HIS hometown.Even if he can't there is so many talented musicians from Detroit who could fit the bill. Come on Detroit Rock City not O Canada.

imo who the hell really cares who plays the 1/2 show your there to see a football game..the 1/2 time show is just an added bonus, and as others have said before Kid can't perform every year, nor can a local Detroit act..And if your lucky enough to be able to afford to go to the game (or any game for that matter) then you really have nothing to be complaining about..just to throw in my 2 cents in I like Nickelback and have seen them live.
I hope they Rock it and shut everyone up, just like I always hope Kid Rocks it when people are talking shit about him, and guess what............................HE ALWAYS DOES!!

Plus the NFL picks the halftime acts and there only criteria is who will bring in the most viewership, they could care less about local talent, also this petition makes The entire D and the state look like a bunch of crybabies. Pretty much everyone I have heard on sport radio, callers and hosts think this is dumb. One more point, if the fans boo NB off the stage or whatever then we will be cast in a horrible national spotlight once again. I hope this whole thing fizzles to a fast end.
It can't be KR every Thanksgiving..Seger is busy with his 2nd leg..Nickelback is a fine choice-I would go if I had the chance. NB is better than some of the other artists that coulda gotten there to play--
The outrage should NOT be about Nickelback but rather Detroit not getting to represent. With so much talent in the D they should be able to showcase that.Personaly I think Bob Seger would be the perfect halftime act for this years game. Perfect demographic, He's on tour and Chevy just turned 100 years. I agree with the folks that are not happy with the NFL's choice. No direspect to Nickelback but how bout some Detroit homegrown. It's a no brainer.

Dunno why ppl are upset i wouldn't mind seeing Nickelback live. Comes with the ticket price they already paid for the game. Kid Rock and whoever else they want to play isn't always gonna play every time they want them too. There are also many tv viewers as well....

I wrote something about this a while age, I am listening to sports radio, and clearly 99% hate the idea and hate the band. There is even a petition online w/ around 1000 signatures to make them change it. Kid did the halftime show last year and this is an NFL decision since it is nationally televised. I don't know why everyone is getting there panties in a wad, Are they going for the game or for the halftime show. It's probably 2 or 3 songs for crying out loud.
