Dear Ms. McCarter,
Enclosed is a donation to The Rainbow Connection on behalf of the “Eye Candy Friday Club.” We solicited donations through a scrapbook project that we are making for Bob. Anyone that wanted to be included in the scrapbook paid $20 per page and then submitted photos and a note to Bob to let him know why he is so special to us. The book will be presented to him on the Third Annual Kid Rock Cruise, which will depart from Miami in April of 2012. Please accept this donation of $1255.70 on our behalf as we continue to look for ways to support Rainbow and contribute to making the wishes of sick children come true. We are truly blessed to be able to support Rainbow.
Sincerely,
Meredith George, President
Amy Gezel, Scrapbook Project Coordinator
WTG Meredith and Amy and all the members... You guys RAWK
you're more than welcome Angel! and Meredith rules; ECF is a lot of fun. candy, good music, cool chicks, a guy with 3 balls and raising money for charity... what's not to like? I'm happy to be a part of this group!
$11,000 is amazing!!!! Proud to be a Candy Girl.. Love ya Mere
That is a huge contrib, Meredith. Congrats and thanks!
One of the things you might want to consider in future bestowments is the scrap book mounting system. They have some custom gorgeous handcarved "stands", like where you'd place a big old Family Bible. And some new archival paging/ binding systems that defy imagination.
If the gift format is continued (lol see NO NEED for that), bet Bob, family, friends and business associates peruse the love and look through these from time to time. Would be great to invest to the fullest so that the system is easy to use, update, and expand.
Beckxy - thanks for nominating me as Badass of the Month. The title should go to the person that brought me the beer. Now that's BADASS!
Oh wow, just seeing these updated posts! Thanks for the love!!
The scrapbook is in process and will be given to Bob on the cruise. The annual t-shirt project is going on now. Ordering ends February 25. The proceeds will be given to the Rainbow Connection.
The calendar was a HUGE success - the total amount raised was $1410.25 In 2011, the ECF members were responsible for raising over $11,000 in donations to the Rainbow Connection.
This whole thing has been a blessing in my life. I've met some of the most wonderful people ever. Made life long friends. Share a love of Kid Rock, TBT and the music they make. Help kids with life threatening illnesses. Completely life changing!
Thanks to all of you who are a part of this. Much love and respect from me to you!
The calendar project was a huge success. I love my calendar. Thanks Jade...
Very cool and creative! Great way to pass on something special to Kid and the Band - while raising money for a great cause.
Always great to see consistent, level headed patron-ism instead of the talking in code bullshit. LOL.
Oh and Hey.. I think she would make a good contender for "BAD ASS OF THE MONTH".. since I believe she also went to great lengths to get some BAD ASS BEER... just sayin ; )
From what I understand, the people that submitted a page will get to see the whole book via a link when it is finished.. I for one can't wait to see it : ) I'd imagine that book is gonna be HUGE.
There is a website now www.eyecandyfriday.com
Ms. Meredith is such a wonderful person.. heart of gold. She has come up with the best ideas to create funds for the Rainbow Connection... t-shirts, calendars, this year I got a t-shirt package with a lanyard and bracelet. I joined the group in 2011. I was a late comer. I was a lil iffy on joining a group that devoted every Friday of putting of tons of pics of Bob up... but when I saw how much good was coming outta that group.. and realized it was way more to it then that, the comradery and friendships.. all bonded by Kid Rock n TBT music.. all doing something good to change a kid's life in the name of the man we love to hear sing to us. I quickly changed my mind, and thought it was very clever and genius. I jumped on it.. and very proud to be apart of this group today : )
Ms. Meredith.. YOU ROCK !!
Impressive amount, congrats to all who participated. Hope some challenged kid gets something special.
Know we have a lot of artistically talented people here, and bet those pages were a sight to behold. In the future, it would be nice if a copy of each page could go up on a fansite, so that those who don't do Facebook or cruise could see some of the work.
Thing must weight a ton compiled and bound, scrapbooks are heavy.
God Bless Meredith! She rocks!
Very proud to be an Candy Girl and support Eye Candy Friday!
