These are quiet times. Time spent seeing reflections in the frosted pane. Christmas tree lights, images of children chasing, teasing, laughing ...the smells of grandma's baking ~ Krumkakas and Sunbakkels. Music flooding from the piano room. 'My guardians' playing the piano and singing "Angels We Have Heard On High ~ Sweetly singing o're the plains..." preparing for Christmas Eve service. The Legend of the Candy Cane
Many years ago, a candymaker wanted to make a candy at Christmas time that would serve as a witness to his Christian faith. He wanted to incorporate several symbols for the birth, ministry and death of Jesus.
He began with a stick of pure white hard candy. The white symbolized the virgin birth and the sinless life of Jesus.
He made the candy hard to symbolize the that Jesus is the solid rock and the foundation of the church. The firmness also represents the promises of God.
The candy maker made the candy in the form of a "J" to represent the name of Jesus, who came to earth as our Savior. He thought it could also represent the staff of Jesus, the Good Shepherd.
The candy maker then added red stripes. He used three small stripes to show the stripes of the scourging Jesus received, by which we are healed. The large red stripe was for the blood shed by Christ on the cross so that we could be forgiven and have the promise of eternal life.
The flavor of mint is similar to hyssop. In Old Testament times, hyssop was associated with purification and sacrifice. It was also used at the cross as they gave Jesus a drink of vinegar before He gave up the Ghost.
Good Morning :)
God Brought me a Lovely surprise today ... My son made coffee for me :) Like it was Mother's Day or something !!! Then we went out on the back porch for half an hour or so and talked about our Blessings, Christmas and Thanked God for our family and the Loving friends we have. I mentioned you all here and he mentioned his friends as well. It was nice to spend some time with him, Thanking God ~together.
Then I came to read a bit. God told me a story or two, and I just want to say how very thankful I am to be able to come here and be me, i guess. And sometimes, be blessed in ways that I can walk a mile or two, with a friend, along the road. We all go through valleys of darkness. Sometimes feeling pretty alone and scared. "our journey" as j jc said. God is reaching out for us during these times, when we cant even move. He's there, standing right next to us, holding us.....
... until we've had a bit of time, first~ then, we'll start the treadmill of life ~ ~ ~
~ but my heart, we come first ~+~ listening to Christian music is nice, I wish Bobby had more.

MsBehavin: I love the part where you write that people don't get you but there is acceptance here. I love that we all can be different yet the same in other regards and even still respect each other and celebrate our differences. All who post, thank you for your friendship this past year.. As for Bobby doing something different, I know people would like a Christmas album. But, I think ONE rocking Christmas song from TBT AND KID that could become a contemporary classic would be great. Think of how Don Henley's, "Please Come Home for Christmas" or Springsteens' version of Santa Claus is Coming to Town" are classic rock Christmas favorites. How about it Kid, just ONE ROCKING SONG for us please? It could be an original or an old favorite with the KID/TBT twist to it. I know us fans would absolutely LOVE it. Pretty, Pretty, Please? Just think about it awhile. Thanks and if you ever read this stuff, Merry Christmas to you.

you know, D, i love this spot. i too am on a spiritual journey. i came to this sight to find a distraction from the ache in life. mine no greater than anyone, and probably less then some. Yet our journey is ours. too think i found a place that pointed me back to faith, was Kid Rock. how little we really know about the book until we open the cover. I am sad this season. No reason just a sense of change, like the air before a storm. thanks for the encouraging words. thanks to everyone for being who they are even if i may not take to it. it is HONEST. something draws me the Kid and some day i may figure it out. blessings to everyone. and Bobby, when you cast your bread upon the water
