Kid Rock's May 12 concert with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra will use a paperless ticket system, organizers announced Monday — the latest effort by Rock to thwart the reselling of tickets on secondary markets.

Tickets for the fundraiser, which aims to raise $1 million for the DSO, go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. They will be available at price points of $100, $150, $250 and $350, and VIP packages — which go up to $1,500 and include access to an after party — will be offered as well.

Fans will not receive physical tickets for the event; rather, on the day of the show, they will be asked to present the credit card they used to purchase the tickets, as well as a government-issued photo ID, to gain entry into the concert. All members of the party for whom the ticket buyer purchased tickets must be present to gain entry into the concert.

Are tickets only available from ticketmaster? It looks like ticketmaster is sold out. I see the vivid seats has them but aren't they like stubhub? Would these tickets still be valid?

I am a member of the Kid Rock Congregation Fan Club and I received my presale password via email on Friday morning. I was able to get two tickets without a problem. A huge thank you to Kid Rock for making this a paperless ticketing event. It probably won't stop all the scalpers, but it will definitely slow em down. And for all of you that are ranting about who Kid Rock chooses to associate with politically, move to another country because this is the United States and HE gets to choose! Love you Kid!!

Kid we love your music and your down to earth attitude that makes us all feel we can relate to you. However, I was taken back by your support of Mitt Romney. This man is a phony and will say anything necessary to get elected. he's been compared to a weather-vane blowing in whatever direction the political winds might blow. I realize we shouldn't mix politics with music, but you chose to appear at a fundraiser for him, my question is WHY. You don't need the money. You are someone who we relate to as one of us. Romney will never be. I wish you continued success and a great performance with the DSO, but I'm still cringing at seeing you on stage with this phony who takes joy at seeing the average working guy out on the street in the name of corporate profits. That can't be what Kid Rock agrees with, say it isn't so.

Way to go Mr. Ritchie! Jim Beam, Thank you too! Detroit needs their orchestra...a city has to have culture. I'm sure it will be an outstanding event...warm, heartfelt vocals mixed with incredible musicians. As a child, I attended many DSO concerts. You are so good for the D! You are a class act, dude! Thank you for branching out!

Dear Kid Rock, I like you. That is why I do not understand your support of Romney, after the nasty stuff he said about Detroit, and letting the Auto Companies go bankrupt. You really cannot care about the workers if you are going to support him. I am a retired union RN and have worked all my life for fairness in my hospitals, please reconsider your allegiance. Pay attention to what is going on in that crazy Republican primary process. They are all nuts!!!!!
