Kid Rock Shares His Thoughts On 'The Machine Shop' in Flint, MI

'The Machine Shop' in Flint, MI will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in March. Kid Rock recently shared his thoughts to the 'Flint Journal' in regards to the concert lounge. Here are excerpts from the article:

“The Machine Shop is one of the last of a dying breed,” Kid Rock said in a statement e-mailed to The Flint Journal.

“(It’s) a great independently owned rock ’n’ roll club that does not have to answer to any corporate bullshit. They book the bands they like and ones they see potential in. They have great relationships with the artists that play there and go above and beyond to make them comfortable and appreciated.”

Kid Rock, who headlined The Machine Shop in spring 2011, said he loves the club, the people who work there and the clientele it attracts.

“It’s a spot for hardworking people to let loose and have a good time. I have played the shop only once but have ended up on stage several times with friends and enjoyed many, many shows and good times there. Kevin and his brother Craig are great Americans, and I’m proud to call them my friends.”

Hi Bob, I don't live that far from you and I had a better chance of running into you when you were touring last year than I do when you are home! "Where you at Rock-Where you at??????????/

Kid is totally right. The Zink brothers are a class act to their customers and I've been told (by the bands that play there) they treat the bands with that same class. We've been to The 'Shop several times over the years and have never had a bad time and have never left disappointed. The wait staff is awesome and the security team keeps everything in order. Just as we are very fortunate to have a monster talent like Kid Rock near our home town, we are just as grateful to have this world famous concert lounge just minutes from home. The Allie See benefit on 2/25, Matt, Sonia and Ty on 3/22 and the legendary DAC on 3/30. What a venue!! :)

So important to patronize these small town, home grown venues. Shout ot to you for that! Our local "Machine Shop" The Bamboo Room in Lake Worth Fl is too dying breed, refreshingly unbound by corporate bs. Heard Jimmy Buffet did a surprise show on Thurs, not a big fan, but thankfull for the business to my home town. Best of All Things, kc

Flint is no unfamiliar location in Michigan to me. Freely invited to the Machine. Smiles, Respectable and Admiration is of a greatest tribute to one of the impressively large outlets in Flint. I say they kick it out in the art of keeping peoples entertained. Thumbs up to “The Machine for remaining self - supporting. . Thank You Kid and The Twisted Tucker Band for your devoted recall to bring some of the best of times in celebration to “The Machine“.

Have been to the Machine Shop a handful of times- Kevin is a ridiculously cool guy! Great venue, great people!

Got our tickets for Kracker, Ty, and Sonia. It should be fun.

that's pretty cool, heard nothing but good things about the place :) Not sure, but I think there is a movement of Mom and Pop or private owned business like starting back up in America! Thank God!

I was fortunate enough to catch your show at The Machine Shop, front and center, as well as a few other shows there. You were fantastic! The staff really has it together and works hard to make sure everyone has a great time! They are definately doing it right!!!

Met Michael, a sweetie, and saw Shooter Jennings there. Iconic outstanding venue. Should be on any music lovers must attend list in Michigan. So great to watch the band crowd interaction during performances, and watch the nite unfold.

I love the video of the Machine Shop performanc that Jim Beam had on their website awhile back. The show looked awesome. I really liked your bluesy thing you did on "So Hot" would love you to release a version of that. Not that I don't love the original, but this was SMOKIN!!! Not to many clubs around like that anymore.
