'The Machine Shop' in Flint, MI will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in March. Kid Rock recently shared his thoughts to the 'Flint Journal' in regards to the concert lounge. Here are excerpts from the article:
“The Machine Shop is one of the last of a dying breed,” Kid Rock said in a statement e-mailed to The Flint Journal.
“(It’s) a great independently owned rock ’n’ roll club that does not have to answer to any corporate bullshit. They book the bands they like and ones they see potential in. They have great relationships with the artists that play there and go above and beyond to make them comfortable and appreciated.”
Kid Rock, who headlined The Machine Shop in spring 2011, said he loves the club, the people who work there and the clientele it attracts.
“It’s a spot for hardworking people to let loose and have a good time. I have played the shop only once but have ended up on stage several times with friends and enjoyed many, many shows and good times there. Kevin and his brother Craig are great Americans, and I’m proud to call them my friends.”
