    Shauna O'Donnell of MuenMagazine.net recently interviewed Black Stone Cherry drummer John Fred. Here is an excerpt where John praises Kid Rock on embracing many genres of music:

    In a sense, I have to respect Kid Rock because he is the only artist in the past decade that really embraced so many great genres of music and at the same time kept it going. I can’t think of anybody else that has done that. We are good friends with Bobby. We did that tour with Skynard and him in 2009. He has so many different fans and that is really what you want. I think the worst thing an artist can do is become pigeon-holed or backed in the corner. You want a strong core fan base, but you also want to be able to have tons of people like your band.

SO TRUE ! I'M 48 AND MY KIDS (30,26,24,19) ALL ARE BIG FANS OF HIS. MY ROCK N ROLL JESUS CD WAS WORN OUT FROM BEING PLAYED SO MUCH ALONG WITH A COUPLE OF OTHERS. THEY ALL GOT ME NEW ONES FOR XMAS.. LOOKING FORWARD TOO A NEW YEAR OF TOUR DATES !!TRYING TO DECIDE WHERE WE ALL WANT TO GO SEE HIM. ITS A FAMILY MINI VAC. TOGATHER ALWAYS A GREAT TIME !! MY WIFE (TO BE) AND I ALONG WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY HAS NICKNAMED OUR BAR THE PURPLE SKY LOUNGE WHENEVER WE TALK ABOUT IT WOULD LIKE TO RENAME IT THAT BUT THE LAWYER SAYS NO !! Very Cool!! Love The Group Black Stone Cherry as well and so does my kid and well Skynyrd-One of the Greastest Bands all of time in my book-Hell Yeah!!! I guess Kid Rock is alright too-just kidding-lol- He is F**kingFantastic and just downright Kicks Ass!!! The BadAss that he is :D So loved everthing done for all on "THE CARE TOUR" much love always and God bless

Well said John Fred! That's why we love Bobby. He grew up on the same music most of his fans did, a whole mix of genres. From Run DMC, to Bob Seger, to Hank Williams Jr. He loves it all and we love that he mixes it all together!

And there it is...just reading the fans comments says it all! Ol timer, new timer, been down the road a few timer, Bobby and TBT have been able to, not just reach the masses but, maintain his wide spanning fan base. If it's real you'll feel it! He is a wonderful testament to what one who's been blessed with such a large, tentative, audience should do... reach out for the betterment of ALL humans! It's a lesson for us all. Mostly Bobby! Ditto KidRocket99.. He's a living legend in my book.. hall of fame worthy. You could look way back where someone would come out with one song on their album that may have combined rap with rock.. or rap with pop.. like Blondi, Anthrax, and Aerosmith with Run DMC, but I feel that the Kid took it to a whole new level.. mixing country, blues, funk, rap, rock. Not to say they weren't doing it decades ago when Buddy Holly introduced rock n roll to the kids by mixing country with rhythm & blues.. same for Jerry Lee and Johnny Cash.. "If ya wanna be a carpenter... go hang out with other carpenters" he says. Yep.. I gotten it a long time ago ; ) It was always my number one reason for following all this time... and coming in a strong second is the live concerts... Ain't nobody who rocks it harder... Kid Rock and Twisted Brown Trucker : )

Nice thoughts John Fred Young. I’m no stranger to your music Black Stone Cherry. Very nice acoustic cut of Peace is Free. Black Stone Cherry, love your Folklore and Superstition , Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. I hope 2012 brings good times to you and your band. Kid has made music from distinct music avenues. All though we are not all alike in the world. Music is like a grand piano. The keys are from a history on a musicality scale and the broadened range keyboard in a long harp shaped box haul. This might be what moves his super natural magic to feel and make some of the most all around significant difference in music culture. I have enjoyed collecting Robert Ritchie’s music for a long time. He is a wonderful artist.

It didn't take me 12 yrs. to figure it out...I knew right off the bat where Kid was comming from and I had a clue where he was going to go with it and .....drum roll please....here we are! I hate to say it but as I read all these comments I feel like I've been there, done that. It's just, and I hate to say it kind of old news to me. I am glad that people are finally getting it and I'm sure our Master Blaster is too! Can you feel the love? It seems overwhelming on this site...much differen't from the sites that Kid had had what now seems like long time ago. We seemed to be a select few back then....but I guess who knew he'd blow like Oklaoma...piss on his diploma just to smell the aroma...it must stink in here 'cause he's THE SHIT! Man, he always had me going, that's for sure! And always will! FOREVER! XOXOXO

Kid Rock said it best in his song "I Am"................."the critics can all debate, but you'll never put your finger on me!" He is a multi talented singer/songwriter/musician and has a true heart and soul. Rock on Bobby!
