    Merry Christmas

I am but one of the many, lucky enough to have been BORN FREE.  Not by choice, but by the grace of God. I often have counted my blessings on my many journeys, and thought about those who were not born so lucky.  As I approach a new chapter in my life, more reflective, more aware of my surroundings and the struggles of people close and far, I realize I could better serve those in need if I could only SLOW MY ROLL and take some time to think about the things that are truly important in life.  I can’t stop the suffering in this world, but I can try to be proactive, do what I can when opportunity arises to help, or at least just CARE.  Sometimes the silence of a PURPLE SKY is so deafening it shuts out everything.  It’s been said WHEN IT RAINS, it pours, like the loss of a job on Monday, mounting debt on Wednesday, family problems Friday.  Sometimes all we can do is find an outlet in friends, family, music, parties, alcohol, and cut loose and scream, “GOD BLESS SATURDAY!”  Why can’t we just get along? You’re not that far left, I’m not that far right, must we constantly COLLIDE? I’m sure if we sat down and talked about things we wouldn’t end up that far apart, but rather a comfortable distance where we all can be happy and pursue our dreams without all the extremism that exists these days.  My hometown sure was FLYIN HIGH during the industrial revolution, we put the world on wheels, made ‘em sing and dance to our sound. The riots, white flight, mistreatment of workers, corporate greed, unions taking advantage, corruption, and education failures took their toll.  But a new day has dawned. My hometown has heart, style and knows how to pick themselves up and dust themselves off when we’ve been kicked down.  We understand it’s not only about where we’ve been, but also, more importantly, that it makes us who we are in TIMES LIKE THESE.  Always be proud of who you are, where you come from and never forget your roots. I love life as much as I love all of you. God bless you and ROCK ON.

PS.  Thank you to my family, friends and fans.  I hope you have enjoyed this collection of ROCK BOTTOM BLUES, country, hip hop and soul. I enjoyed writing and recording it with the help of some friends and great musicians. I can honestly say I feel like I am in a great place musically and personally FOR THE FIRST TIME in a long time. I hope y’all are too.  Be cool and Merry Christmas.

I love your music, think you seem to be true. Do not know how you deal with all the people on here thinking you are like God. Creeps me out a bit. No disrespect to you, but thinking you can solve all their problems, WOW! Heavy load on your shoulders. Rock ON!!

HI and Happy Holidays I know a driver that used to unload and load your sound equipment. I hope I don't offend you to call you Bobby. I have enjoyed your words and shows for over ten years now you helped me through a divorce. You were there when I was hungry and only had enough food to feed my kids. Your steered my truck home to Ohio from the night before a playoff game in Indy when my boyfriend decided to beats me close to death you truly steered my truck. All the good and bad times I have been able to escape into your words. August 19 2011 a facade of a building decided to crumble and fall on me I lost me I'm alive but my spirit was broken Then my son got married to an angel during the time I was all drugged I missed my oldest son wedding but through that wedding you came back into my life The mother of the angel my son married was the driver of your sound truck. For Christmas she sent me a pick and a couple shirts My son bought me a Fathead of you . Without your words there are times I know would not still be here. Life has tested me I keep fighting. I appreciate the person you have grown into. Thank you You will never meet a mother quite like me Yvonne (Sisssy)

Although I am 10 years older than you I feel the exact same way.So proud of the way life and music helps us mature and see what truly is important, and how the people in our lives are important. I have loved you and the "music you make" for many many many years.I started getting more and more friends on board for Rock and Roll Jesus, and more and more love Born Free.I love to have them listen to your old stuff and appreciate where you have come from and where you are going. The one thing that hasn't changed is the fact that you love and believe in your music at the time.I take that back you are passionate....you love you family....you love Michigan.....you love your fans....and most important you love and believe in this country.Keep doing what you do and we will keep showing up.God bless you Junior, your whole family and the Happiest...Healthiest 2012!

I have said many times to others about the born free cd, It tells a story, the story of where you are in life. Where we all are in life. So much change and not all good. The world would be a better place if we all just loved one another. True song writer and this one came from your heart. Can't wait until your next one! Rock on Bobbie your music moves us!

I wrote to you in the past, then I stopped because of a bad omen. I told God I wouldn't write unless there was a sign from him that was so obvoius it would be like getting hit in the face with a board. Then I realized I had scar tissue and glass comming out my scalp from an old car accident. I decided to spend some time trying to confuse some people into playing more videos. I quit because of a song, but I was worrying about bad karma because I wasn't being very loyal. Then I had a sleeding accident, so I went back. Sitting hurt and within two weeks things went disastorous, so I quit for good. I knew if I kept going my heart would probably explode. Walking away was the best way to keep it about the music and nothing else. I love you even more because you make me think you think about me as much as I think about you. I got a lot of problems you don't need in your life, but Gods been pounding on my head for awhile now so I thought I should write one more letter even if the only thing you understand is I love "Born Free". It makes me wish you were singing it for me especially "Purple Sky" and "For The First Time"; "When It Rains" is sad but a good song; and Rock On" has made me cry but I still love it, If I had to pick a favorite it would have to be"Care" anyone who pays any attention to you can tell you really do "Care". Anyway I hope you had a merry Christmas and a Great New Years" Love You, Mary

It is a blessing to be born free and to help others. I am involved with Project Care at our college and it is humbling to see how many of our students and own staff are in need. We take it for granted that we have plenty of food to eat for the holidays; but I see through many people that they worry if they will have food to eat. Helping others is a double edged sword...it is rewarding, but it also breaks my heart. It is good to read and hear that someone of Kid Rock's stature and wealth feels compelled to help others as well. One more reason why Kid Rock is my most respected artist. Happy New Year! May 2012 be a great year for all of you reading this!

Let ur writings be ur inhale, knowing that w/out them u cant fly or sail.Set ur soul free above the sea,& walk upon the spiritual waters for others to see.Let not the winds of ther whispers blow u around, for ther bhind the back talk is ther natural sound.Ive looked into the eyes of the wolf dressed in sheep clothing, nothing about them was real or soothing. Many living in a paradise lie,I pray this isnt where u die. See thru the eyes of the lost hallowed dark heart,& recognize who tore it apart. Thers only one name that came to destroy,& his name isnt boy.Ive seen the writing on the wall,FB minds sharing ther fall while others look down acting tall.An icicle of blind illusions traveled thru a kaleidoscope of worldly knowledge, lost w/in the teachings that came from some college.Ur perception is the way u will think, thinking that a shattered boat should always sink.Such are the pieces that fell off the table, now ur looking around to finish ur life puzzle.Let not what has been taught be ur only way, in the new year to come let each one for another pray.God knows what u need, now know that it is His Son that came for ur selfish greed. The key to tru serene peace is unselfishness in all that u do,so that others will see that Jesus is real & true.Let ur mind no longer be itself,by putting those old ways of thinking on ur minds back room shelf.

Yes, by the grace of God I was born free -- doubly blessed actually since I live in a modern society that doesn't treat women like second class citizens, or worse!! America IS the land of opportunity, and it's our nature to dust ourselves off and get back in the saddle!! I'd be pretty lost without two things -- faith and hope.Times like these may be some of the hardest; but, for me, it's the best thing that has happened to me. When all is said and done, I'll be better off than before, and for decades to come. So weary ones, "renew your strength and mount up with wings as eagles." Just like the symbol associated with the American Bad Ass! ; ) And, thank God for MUSIC to help us along on this journey. To me, no other art form can touch, or lift, the soul quite like music can. I'm a self-taught artist, more like a God-taught artist, so I really can't take much credit. I'd bet Bobby Ritchie feels the same way. But, at least he took his talent and turned it into something that reaches far and wide. And, yes, what a ride -- for over two decades!! It's probably safe to say that slowing your roll a bit is a necessity!! Thank you God for giving us the music of Kid Rock -- it's real and we feel it!! Thank YOU Bobby Ritchie for all your hard work and dedication to your art!! Much Love and Respect

I feel you are growing as a person and that you can relate to others lives in a great way, you have an insight to people's needs and emotions coming from your own past life experiences. Keep on being true to your Heart and may 2012 keep you in good health and happiness. You are graced with the love that many spread upon you, don't take it lightly as those gifted and blessed carry the heavy burden of others love upon their shoulders meaning those who have an abundance need to spread this love to others to lighten their souls. With my up most appreciation and deepest gratitude- Much Love Robert Ritchie. *Star* Shawna

Happy holidays to you and your family Bob. Like I have said many times before, you are all heart and soul. Your love for your fans, and for life in general has inspired many. Your kind heart brings tears to eyes of many. There are many more people out there saying did you hear what KID ROCK has done now, what he is doing for the people. My co workers, tell me each time they hear things you have done. Its kewl to hear it, they all know that I am a die hard fan and will be for life, and I play my cds's for others to hear just how amazing you are. Young and old they all love you, we all love you. You put back so much into this country, keep your show tickets down in price and I thank you for that. There are other artists that we would like to see but the prices are off the wall, so I will not go to see them, I will continue to support you no matter what, you have inspired me to keep going, when the pain gets bad I turn up born free and sing along until it takes the pain away. Thank you Bob for being you, real deal, God Bless you and see you in April. Finally got to be on the cruise. Wouldnt miss this for the world. Take care my friend.

That was a real creative job getting your song titles in your Christmas note. I want to thank you for your generosity in the Detroit area. You have done Detroit proud! With all the problems going on here in Detroit, people need someone who is doing good, positive things to look up to. Your charity work sets a good example to younger people and hopefully it'll rub off on them. There are so many ways people can help by volunteering. You are absolutely right about "My hometown has heart, style and knows how to pick themselves up and dust themselves off when we’ve been kicked down." I’m one of the many people in the Detroit area who is unemployed and was unable to collect unemployment. So, I started my own business that I could work around my volunteering and my health problems. Having a few auto-immune diseases kinda sucks. There are people who are sicker than I am and there was a time when I was one of them. I know God will provide for me. I must admit if someone would have told me a year ago, that I would be saying nice things about Kid Rock and tell people about your Born Free CD - I would have asked them "What drugs are you on?" My hubby kept telling me that you did more than just rap music. For Father's Day, I bought him your Born Free CD. I listened to it and was very impressed! I don't impress easy. Since then, I have checked you out online and learned more about you. I will admit I was very wrong about you and some of your music. I try not to be judgmental, but I was with you. I am truly sorry about that. For the record, I still really don't care for the rap and hip hop songs. I'm a rock & roll gal at heart. But I do really like your Born Free CD, plus your songs "Only God Knows Why" and "Cold and Empty". BTW, I did get a good laugh from your "You haven't meet a ..." video. From one Eastsider to another, have a very blessed new year!

Well said Bobby and thanks for the change, keep the rest. Lol. We enjoy our blue jeans and rosaries and try not to bitch about the things we ain't got- sounds kinda Texan to me- but in the end we are all rolling down that long hwy under the purple skies, smoking, drinking trying to free our minds and discovering some of the best things in life are a pontoon boat, a bottle of wine, and some cut off jeans because sometimes or maybe all of the time you just can't buy cool and only God knows why. We start out pimpin to become a cowboy baby then we learn to care. We can't stop the war, feed the homeless, or shelter the poor, so sometimes all we can do is care. We hear scream on the left and yelling on the right, and most of the time we get caught in the middle just trying to live our lives. And for the life of me, I can't see how the devil keeps enticing me, when all the see is a felon, I know God will see what's right in me, how we could be labeled as villains in the first place when the worst scenario is our birthplace, we are all just trying to stop from falling victims of the murder rates, we take our life's lessons and teach them to the adolescents, seeing a God up above in heaven saying you better get your future right, and sending down his blessings cause we hear screaming on the left and yelling on the right, while we are running through life just trying to get it right. And we all may be hicks , 3 ft 9 with a 10 in d.... It doesnt matter cause it's all in fun so get in the pit and try to love someone. We may be straight out of Compton or straight out the trailer , drink like a fish, cuss like a sailor but all in all we are all on that lonely hwy of faith. That's why you can call us cowboys baby! Merry Christmas Kid, to you and yours, and may all of us have a happy new year. Keep the good stuff coming and may God bless you in the search of your purpose. I truly think you have found your calling so just keep using it in a positive way.
