    A somewhat unlikely hero has helped a Western New York family in need.

    Kid Rock played a show at Town Ballroom Sunday night as part of a tour meant to have his foundation help out other cities.

    And through a donation to the Boys and Girls club, one local family who has spent the last 10 months homeless will now be able to have an apartment to call their own.

    Robert Yacone tells us it's been tough to keep things going after his wife left him and his three children. "But unfortunate too when we arrived back in town.. I've had tragedy too. My brother was killed on a motorcycle September 17th, at 40-years-old, on a country road, hit a deer... so I don't what else could have gotten worse for me. And then tonight to win this, it's just so much of a fairy tale."

    During the press conference, Kid Rock said, "I'm a big believer that when enough people get together and care about anything, that the human spirit's very powerful, and can change things."

    Grants were also given out to Music is Art, Gauches Unite and Special Spaces.

The 1st time I heard your music my 9 & 6 year old son was rocking out to "Cowboy". I honestly told them to get that music out of my house. Next thing I starting hearing "Only God Knows Why" and I thought, this dude has some serious lyrics....next thing I know, man, I was jammin to your music, I managed to hook up with the love of my life and we took my boys to their 1st Rock N Roll Concert in Feb '02 to your Lou. KY concert...and I was 5 months pregnant! We had a great time.... next concert I left the kids and my man at home and did I have some fun in March '08, that was a bad ass concert, both of them were, but on July 2nd in Cincinnati I don't know how you did it in the heat, but you burnt that stage up... I don't want anything from you, but to continue to have your lyrics, your music and your concerts. I would love to have a drink, smoke one with you and be able to say I partied with Kid Rock himself, now that is what I wanna do before I leave this world, is meet Kid Rock. You are a stand up dude, that tells it like it is, your passion for our troops and for mankind is awesome... Your lyrics and style cannot be touched, "you ain't bragging mother fucker if you can back it up"..... and you got it all over the place! Rock on, can't wait to see you again!

You undeniably are generous with your money, but to keep up these donations your going to have to have a few more concert dates scheduled than you currently have. Whats up with the tour schedule, made too much money last year? Would love to see you, but you will have to come back to central Illinois. Preferably Bloomington.

me and my husband been homeless since dec22,2011 and my husband has heart problems is there any way you can help us get the help we need to get in a place call our home he. if my husband does not get this medical help i can loose him for good. i cry all the time because everytime i think someone going to help they back out everytime. he get unemployment and his medical gets most of that i been trying to get help for him for his medical and get a doctor to help him with getting more pills for his heart to stay a live is there way you can help us out with any of this please you can call me at 1-586-209-6696.they want to put a pacemaker in but his heart is to weak to put in. he can no longer work.i am disable also but i do most of the work around the house for him.please help us we have no one to turn to both of our parents have past away. i really hope you can help us can you please call me at 1-586-209-6696 ask for lisa thank you and god bless you and your family.i live with my sister till febuary 4,2012. then we have to move and sleep in the car. no place to go.

You are Amazing! As I said before you have a heart of gold! Yeah I LOVE THE AMERICAN BADASS but deep down you do really care and have respect for others and I think that really defines who you are! I am not very wealthy but if I were I would certainly help as many people as I could people like this who really need help you have done so much good that I don't see how anyone could say that they don't like you! I Love everything about you & I'm sure if I met you I would love you even more! I saw you 3 times in 2011 during the Born Free tour & it was totally awesome every time it was the best times of my life with the exception of when my two amazing boys were born 5 & 7 years ago! My youngest son loves Black Bob he calls it the Cadillac song & my oldest son loves Born Free! I love it all I listen to you everyday! If its real you'll feel it!

That is wonderful for that family. How aweful to live on the streets for 10 months !! Now they have a home for the Holidays and can be truly thankful and blessed. I am a great believer of the human spirit. I suffer from depression and when I'm down and blue, my friends rally around me and the togetherness of them brings the "human spirit" back to my life and I try to pay it forward, even if it's only a few bucks in the Salvation Bucket or supporting your CARE Tour, which I was at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD ~ you ROCKED that place ~ best concert I think you ever did that I saw. 40 suits you well, you grew up and you are respectiveful to lives around you and the USA !!!! Rock On Kid, Rock On !!! HUGS & KISSES !!!!!!!

Thats why good hearted people like Bob don't get the they deserve...but I supoose thats what makes them so humble in the first place. I want to thank Kid Rock for helping my children and myself with his generous gift!!! WOW!!! God bless you!!! My children can stop talking about you and the show, they were stars for the night. A true blessing for them. They are modest and thankful kids who never ask me for anything!!!! They are my life and I would be homeless and jobless all over again just to have them in my life daily and nothing else matters to me but them....... Thank everyone for your positive comments also

Great to see a family in need get support and help they need. Imagine if more celebrities took the time to give back at this level.......! Town Ballroom was a great way to see Kid Rock perform,,,and even got to hear some of the old hits (very cool)!
