Speaking of Elvis, it's so weird that I met with a private investigator this morning from Harrisburg, Pa. to investigate my mothers doctor. He happened to be Elvis's security guard in the 70's when he was in town for a show...possibly the show my mom was at. What a coinsidence. He said he was the nicest guy, and that you'd never think he was this big star. He sat with him and everything. So when I shook his hand I saidI, "Is this the hand that shook Elvis's hand?" and he said yes it is. So I went home and shook my mothers hand with the same hand and told her all about it and she was so happy and said thank you. Just thought I'd share.

I wish I could enter but since we r going to NYC for the concert this saturday, no way can we get to Memphis. I have been there twice with fundraising efforts for ST. Jude's childrent's research hostpital. If anyone gets a chance, go visit, go donate, it's an awe inspiring place.

Besides, my dog happened to be born on his birthday (I've got the papers), and he just missed his death date by 3 days so there's a real connection to my heart when it comes to Elvis. And I remember going with my uncle and my cousins to pick up my mom and her sister at one of his last concerts. I was only 11 yrs. old but I remember how excited the crowd was outside after the show. It was as if we were at the show, in the audience even though we were in a car on the street. My mom was so happy waving her Elvis flag in the air that she put it on her closet door until he died. Then she took it down...we still have it. My mom rocks!

I hate to admit it but it sure sounds like a good excuse to go to Graceland if ya ask me. No ofense to Kid Rock or anything....but let's face it, The King is the King which as we all know happens to be the one and only Elvis Presley. I've got to get to Graceland someday before I die.....There can only be one King of rock and roll....sorry guys.
