Wow, WTF happened? Being a huge KR fan from way back i have to say i can't buy this newest release. I luv KR and all he does for our nation, but this latest is a drain on my brain and sounds so lame. Just not what i want from KR. I luv workin out to KR but this latest stuff is junk to me. Hope the next release is alot more OLD SCHOOL KR.
I recall watching Kid Rock perform Bawitdaba YEARS ago on MTV and thinking to myself, 'This guy is pretty good. I bet he's gonna be pretty big.' That was around 13 years ago now, and guess what? Kid Rock has not become as big as I thought he would be.
He's become so much bigger than that.
Kid began in a strange limbo between rap and rock. I thought the style would catch on, and it did. But he grew so much as a musician, and shortly after he really came into fame, he found a sound all his own. Now, even some of his tracks which might sound a little 'country' or 'classic rock' still sound like 'Kid Rock'.
Beyond that, he has generously given of his time, supporting his home town of Detroit and the US Armed Forces shamelessly. And for once, I don't feel like it was a publicity stunt, either, making me all the more proud of the guy for doing something because he WANTED to, not because he thought it would help him sell more albums.
The man has become an institution and legend in his own right. Here's to you Kid - keep rockin' for years to come, because the thought of a music scene with you is a bleak concept.
I've been a fan of Kid Rock ever since i heard him for the first time. He came and played in a night club i worked in as a runner for all the headlining bands. Now who here remembers a night club in Old Bridge, New Jersey called "The Birch Hill Night Club". When i first heard Kid Rock sing i was blown away and i have been a fan ever since. I go see him in concert every chance i get and i agree he needs to perform more in the tri state area. My daughter is a huge fan too and can't wait to see him in concert again. We love and miss you Joe C.
I am a die hard fan. Your show in Greensboro, NC on Feb 22, 2011 was the most phenomenal kick ass show I have ever had the pleasure to be at. You are an amazing artist and as I said above, PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!!!!
I would also like to state a few reasons WHY I am a fan. Your support of this country and it's troops are the main reason, but also the charities you support. You are my hero. And, as a single mother, we need more heroes like you. Can't wait until you come back around to Greensboro NC for your next show. Keep on rockin'.
recently got some more albums (bought one, dug 2 up from my moms old stuff) and now this, rock n roll jesus, and cocky are tied for best! but come on Kid when are you having another concert in atlantic city or philly???
Oops, just missed to write comment No. 777 which I'm now doing-
By the way, please ignore all my typing, spelling and grammar mistakes.
Seems I need to take a vacation in the US and brush up my English.
Liebe Grüße, Tina
Born Free is the best Kid Rock album. Period.
Here in Germany we don't get tho hear too much of Kid's music over the radio, so I have to rely on info from the internet. Recently I bought his last 2 CDs and didn't regret it. Quite expensive, though, but worth it! A few titles (lyrics) on Rock'n'Roll Jesus are a bit harsh for my taste, but All summer long and some others are just awesome. I'm 55 and grew up with the Stones and that kind of stuff. So explicite lyrics is nothing new.
Beware: playing Kid on the car stereo makes your diriving more aggressive :( but more fun too :)))
So hi to everybody out there who is lucky enough to live in America and has a good chance of seeing Kid in a live concert.
Tschüss und auf Wiedersehen, Tina
