I'm listening to "Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast" right now and it is amazing to hear the progression of Kid Rock over 20 years. I intend to make today a Kid Rock Thanksgiving. After "Grits Sandwiches," I'm spinning "Devil Without a Cause." Followed by the "History of Rock," "Cocky," "Kid Rock," "Rock N' Roll Jesus," and "Born Free." Really wish I had the "Polyfuze Method" and "Early Morning Stoned Pimp."
I've been a fan of Kid Rock since day one. His driving beat and lyrics are AWESOME. I have an eclectic music collection and I think it's funny how hard it is to find a certain genre to put his CD's into. He spans the full range from Rap to Rock To Country and NEVER disappointing. The songs on this new album are a lot more mellow but still rocking. To be able to have such great musical talent such as Martina McBride, Zac Brown and Bob Seger perform on your album, it goes to show how large an audience you truly reach.
Keep it up brother!
I absolutely love this CD. It exhudes over-the-top musical talent. This is an incredible collaboration of your diverse musical ability. This CD proves how you can sing across the board and totally pull it off with the epitome of entertainment at its best.
Who wants to listen to or produce the same style of music over and over and over again? If you have the talent, change it up a bit, and you definitely have the talent. Come on now, you would not have a beautiful heartfelt autographed poster from Johnny Cash thanking you for keeping the music alive if you were not in the upper echelon of musical performers, writers, and producers. I rank you right up there with Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Bob Seger, and Hank Jr., just to name a few.
Thank you for this CD. I'm sure I will rock out to it many times in the years to come.
Ok, ok, I just bought the album a few hours ago so I was only half way through it on my last comment. I am lovin the blues on the back side of the album. Kid Rock, is still Kid Rock, the most musically versatile American Bad Ass I've ever seen. Thank you Kid.
Kid, I have no illusion that you actually have time to read this yourself, but I'm a longtime fan and wanted to share my thoughts on "Born Free." This is my seventh Kid Rock album, I've got a special love for all of them, but I'm surprised by this album; granted, your last two were hard to top ("Rock N' Roll Jesus" owns half my 25 most played songs). As a musician myself, I will never criticize an album if I don't totally love it because you have a musical versatility that I admire and would love to have myself. Having the broad range of musical skill that you do I'm sure it's hard to please all your fans. I'd think your fans have to be as eclectic musically as you are to love everything you produce. Nonetheless, thank you for a new album.
come on...on the hating of his new album...i agree it was more mellow but it's still musically beautiful and awesome...he's not going to stay with the same sound all the time...let him explore and expand..rock and roll jesus is iconic but cut him some slack..i adore how he loves america and his troops who keep us free and him looking back on how he finally made it..leave him alone..he deserves it...shit...look at justin beiber...this young pup is getting awards over usher??? really..give KID a break and let him explore...
love the new alblum it always feels like your songs fit my life happy thanksgiving to you and you family kid and your band !!hope you have fun at the game in d town baby:)i will be watching whoo hoo
Hey, Kid, where's the Rock? This album is mellow country music with virtually no rock or rap. Gone mainstream? I was especially excited with Rick Rubin but I can't believe this. You let us down Kid.
as always YOU make some of the most awesome music ever!!! Your collaborations with the likes of sheryl crow and ti are amazing to me. I'm just a simple bama girl but i've traveled the great states to see You in Your home state, mine and many other and trust me as long as Your music stays this moving to my soul i will continue. Thank You for all Your efforts!!!!
I work with my dad at the Tempe Music Festival in Arizona. And in 2008, he told me that you were playing there. I had NO idea who you were. But I saw your show that night, and let me just say WOOW! It was the best show I have EVER seen. No one beats you man! Great album, LOVE them all!
Great CD I think it shows a lot when an artist is great for 20 years and gets better and better. A loyal person to the stuff he believes in makes him appealing to real people......Love the fact he represents his hometown and still lives here. You got to respect that........Ford field 15th see ya there......
Kid Rock...WOW! I saw your performance Sunday night! It made me very emotional to say the least! As another Michigainian who loves her state, the dignity and hope I saw in this, as well as the selfless giving and thoughtfulness you put into this nationally shown moment... well, THANK YOU! I came from the Flint/Genessee area and I know what our people are made of. I've known those who were/are down-trodden and will give even the little bit they have to someone else who they think are worse off than they are. Flint has been down for sooooo long, but I believe that this once great city will come back and it will be a city of hope, shining brightly. I also believe this for Detroit too. I hope that the Saginaw/Bay City area will come back too. The Michigan people ARE strong! As you said you can knock me down, but not out. We will rise again! I saw your Born Free video too! Thanks for the beautiful fall colors around the Munising area! Its one of my favorite places in this world! May God Bless you for your faithfulness to Michigan, your AWESOME charity work, your musical talent that in my opinion has grown beyond what most musicians could achieve in a lifetime and for your great big beautifull soul...that of a true Michigainian!!! p.s. can't wait for the concert in Jan.
As a memember of the United States Navy and soon to be member of the United States Army, I just want to thank you for all the support you give the troops. Ive been rockin at your shows since i was 11 years old cuz im a michigan boy can u feel that.
