There's no reason to work for the man in this wonderful country of ours. Just met with my husbands , now my business partner to go over the details of the new company . He and my spouse ave been working on patents for sometime and he's has quite a few and other ventures and seeing how he has some free time now we decided upon our venture of passive income bringing in about 15 g a day to start. I'm gonna be busy doing the marketing portion since I have all the contacts until it gets going and off the ground and then well, fishing, writing a few songs.
Weren't "we" ; ) just talking about this? And, for those of you out there that couldn't post comments "for some reason" -- the reason was/is the Internet Explorer browser you're using.

Hi LK, Changed my browser. Thanks for the info. It was easy. It is a little different and I'll have to get used to it... but much quicker.
Nuff said.
I want to go down and take a pic of the wall before it's changed. So cool that they got input from fans for it. Again, can;t wait to see it!!!
just fyi-there are photos of the video shoot on WYCD's facebook page
So true KRLO, so true!!
A homepage can be any page that you want, mine is this site's home page. The World Wide Web is indeed the information super highway. If you're not certain how to change the home page you can "google it" a.k.a. search for how to do it (that, and most anything for that matter) by just putting in a search. You Tube is a great tutorial tool as well.
And, YES, how very exciting for Lila to finally have her dream come true (like mine ; )~ Even in her wildest dreams, she couldn't have imagined that she would be meeting him because she would be in his video!! Recorded for all posterity. I'm sure she'll be on a Kid Rock high for weeks, if not months!! So happy for my fellow die-hard Kid Rock fan. WE ALL LOVE YOU KID ROCK, BOBBY RITCHIE!!! Please, convey our thanks to your parents for having you!! ; )
Once you go mac, you never go back, we were replacing or getting them repaired all the time. It is worth the extra money, We've had this one for 5 yrs w/ no problems at all, basically we saved money in the long run.
Aw, thanks JB -- I'm sure there are some that may not agree with your sentiment tho ; )~ Especially those that are not into reading novels!! lol
Val, you're like most, people just don't like change. But, you can mostly thank IE for the reason you HAD to update your Yahoo mail. In the past, Yahoo has admitted that its Yahoo Mail online e-mail service was at risk from a Cross Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. XSS flaws are among the most common and risky type of vulnerability in Web-based applications potentially allowing attackers to steal users' information or infect them with malicious code.
Internet Explorer has been subjected to many security vulnerabilities and concerns: Much of the spyware, adware, and computer viruses across the Internet are made possible by exploitable bugs and flaws in the security architecture of Internet Explorer, sometimes requiring nothing more than the user viewing a malicious web page in order to install themselves and then take control of a person's computer and stealing their passwords. It's a scary hacker-filled world out there!!
To give a comparison of sorts, a 2006 Washington Post reported that exploit code for critical unpatched security vulnerabilities in IE was available for 284 days in 2006. In contrast, exploit code for critical security vulnerabilities in Firefox was available for 9 days before Mozilla issued a patch to remedy the problem. According to an October 2010 report in The Register, researcher Chris Evans had detected a known security vulnerability which, then dating back to 2008, had not been fixed for at least 600 days; and, researchers have been able to bypass the "Protected Mode" feature in Internet Explorer.
In an advisory on January 14, 2010, Microsoft said that attackers targeting Google and other U.S. companies (i.e. Yahoo)used software that exploits a security hole, which had already been patched, in Internet Explorer. The vulnerability affected Internet Explorer 6, IE7, and IE8 on Windows 7, Vista, Windows XP, Server 2003, and Server 2008 R2, as well as IE 6 Service Pack 1 on Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
I guess I need to take back the words, "it's easy" when speaking about downloading a different browser. I forgot I was talking to Window users. I've been spoiled using Mac Computers, thankfully I'm not familiar with having to install and uninstall things, I click a button and the computer does the rest. That said, removing IE does have a number of consequences. Some programs bundled with Windows, such as Outlook Express, and some basic Windows components, such as Help and Support, depend on libraries installed by IE in order to function. With IE removed, they may fail to work, or exhibit unexpected behavior. Several common 3rd party applications, Intuit's Quicken being a typical example, depend heavily upon the HTML rendering components installed by the browser. For this reason, most of the IE removal utilities offer the compromise option of removing large parts of IE while still leaving behind the HTML rendering engine or "IE core," which allows many of these 3rd party applications to function normally. Also, in versions of Windows before Vista, it is also not possible to run Microsoft's Windows Update or Microsoft Update with any other browser due to the service's implementation of an ActiveX control, which no other browser supports. In Windows Vista and Windows 7, Windows Update is implemented as a Control Panel applet.
When removing Internet Explorer prior to Windows installation using nLite, there is a distinction between removing Internet Explorer and Internet Explorer Core. If the latter is not removed, core components needed for displaying HTML help files and other operating system tasks are not removed, but the web browser is removed from the system. Is your heading spinning yet? ; ) There is a reason that Bill Gates is one of the richest people in the world with a net worth said to be $59 billion; and, thankfully he's quite philanthropic. But, holy moly, the nightmares of IE are, well, nightmares!!
I'll stop boring you, but please see United States v. Microsoft. The U.S. alleged that Microsoft abused monopoly power on Intel-based personal computers in its handling of operating system sales and web browser sales. The issue central to the case was whether Microsoft was allowed to bundle its flagship Internet Explorer web browser software with its Microsoft Windows operating system.
I'll just say in closing, the next time you buy a computer do yourselves a favor and buy a Mac!! Even my brother, a computer programmer with government security clearance, finally bought a Mac and has now come over to the "dock" side. ; )
@LK's Soap Box I also use internet explorer and google as the home page. This was a hand me down computer and also my first. Honestly i don't know jack about computers so i have been using what was already there. It keeps wanting me to upgrade to chrome but i haven't yet.
LK: Thank you, thank you!!! I will be switching. I too, use something 'cause it's comfortable and easy. You are a treasure here :)
:)
LK my son is always telling me to get rid of IE..I may just do it now that I have your info..I am running IE9..I get used to using something a certain way, then don't like to change. I hate the new Yahoo mail page, too :)
RSMS...You have a free turkey dinner and house-cleaning coming your way for that post..can I use you as a job reference if I need to?? he hee Love ya!!
Yay for lila! = )That just brought a tear to my eye. I'm so incredibly happy for her!
And Val, you were really sweet to step up the support for Lila. I hope Kid puts you in his next video.
Concerning Lila: I knew Kid wouldn't let her down (he really seems to have a golden heart)
Browsers are software applications that bring information to the user. Every browser, to some extent, renders content differently. Microsoft's Internet Explorer is the default web browser that comes with Windows. When a user buys that kind of computer they'll most likely use that browser. It's not required, but it's there and convenient. Hence, IE has been the most widely used browser until very recently. I'm happy to report that, according to statistics, Firefox is now a more popular browser than IE (40% vs 23%) and the next most popular is Chrome (31%) Safari (4%) and Opera (2%) .
One very annoying thing about IE, for it's users and web designers/developers, is that this browser doesn't support coding standards that have been put in place by the W3C. So, developers have to jump through hoops to get pages to display properly on IE. Some developers don't know the tricks to get the page to display correctly and this leads to web pages that appear broken.
Worse yet, it is widely known in the industry that IE has security and privacy vulnerabilities, especially versions older than IE9. In fact the governments of Germany, France and Australia warned users against using IE and recommended switching to an alternative browser due to major security holes.
To install IE9 you have to be running newer versions of Windows such as Windows Vista or Windows 7. Or, more like OR, you should use you're search engines, i.e., Google, Yahoo, Bing, Ask, etc. and put in a search for Firefox (or one of the other standards-compliant browsers) and you can download these browsers for free. It's easy and only takes a moment; and, it won't affect your IE browser. You can always "go back" if you want to, but why would you?! : )
Yay Lila!
Denise, that is the best news I've heard all week!! Hooray for Lila!
y'all go check out Lila's post in the "suggestion" blog!! SHE GOT IN THE VIDEO!!! and a KISS and a HUG with Bobby!!! Soooo cool that it worked out for her!!! Happy ending to a FAN's DREAM COME TRUE!!!
Ok, I hate to sound like an idiot, but I use Internet Explorer and Google for a homepage. I've heard Google Chrome is good but like I said...idiot! Why would it just be us??? Someone playing games?
JB and 420 what version of (the worst browser ; )~ Internet Explorer are you using?
420: Thats exactly what happened to me...crazy!
@JB It was weird. i could load the page fine but when i hovered over community to get to discussions nothing happened. Also i could not sign out, post anything, or click on my profile . But i could look at pictures ,videos, ect. Today it is fine.
@KRLO Yeah, i feel real bad for her too. Hope she's not taking it to hard.
Thanks RSMS. I just saw it on ch. 4 news. I would have gone downtown but I was at work all day :(
Val... I love turkey...only make it on thanksgiving! Sounded wonderful compared to my dinner!
420, totally agree, At first I thought her boyfriend went w/ her for moral support, but the more I think about it, he must have entered also, If he didn't, then I could have showed up and I never even entered the contest, (can't act, can't sing, and I'd probably trip on my shoelace.) Getting back to the original point, if he didn't enter and then got chosen, then the contest would have been fraudulent, cuz anyone could have showed up. Either way I feel bad for Lila, she 'completed the process' and got taken on a roller coaster ride. Cloud Nine one minute, and Cloud Zero the next.
I know you didn't mean any disrespect to the boyfriend 420 :) The contest really put her and her boyfriend in a bad situation.
Hey, 420...the same thing happened to me me yesterday. Couldn't do anything on the site and it wouldn't completely load. Weird, huh? First problem I've ever had either. Thought I picked up a virus at first then realized it was only this site and saw others had posted so I thought it was just me. Wonder how many others had a problem?
I meant no disrespect to the boyfriend. I'm sure she was happy for him. There could have been many scenarios about it. Maybe she said well they want you instead of me so it might as well be one of us. maybe she was able to watch.
What i don't understand is she won the radio contest to be in the video, how can they cut her and pick someone else.
I first thought that too, 420 and K8 but then I thought maybe the boyfriend figured if he went, he could talk to someone about it as well and get her to eventually meet Kid somehow. I just hope it works out for her. I imagine she is so disappointed.
