I am a musician. I did not attend college and barley made it out of high school. I try my hardest to keep my ticket prices low, THIS I HAVE CONTROL OF.!! I can not control nor do i understand how the fuck the scalpers and all the secondary websites and bullshit get them. IF I COULD CONFRONT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM FACE TO FACE I WOULD AND IT WOULD NOT WORK OUT TO WELL FOR THEM I GAURANTEE ALL OF YOU. I hate them, i feel like someone is beating up a close friend or family member while im chained to a chair. I try to understand it, i try to ask my managers and people in the buisness i know to help me understand it, but it seems they dont either. The only way i know right now to stop it is to not buy from these people or wait till the last minute when there scared they cant sell em and have to sell them cheap. I am not gonna apologize for something i cant control and it you wanna hate or blame me for it, go for it. But if your really pissed about it, research it and try to find out why its going on and let me know. alot of us are trying to figure out a better way, trust me, the last thing i want is some bottom of the barrel lazy fuck who wont get a real job ripping off my fans to get rich. And no, this post was not consulted w my mangers or publicist, they would probly say not to post it, but thats not how i do things. This is right from my computer to yours. I hope it helps to understand at least how i feel about people trying to get tickets in my fan club or any other way that turns out to be a let down, THAT IS NOT MY INTENTION OR WHY I GOT INTO MUSIC AT ALL. Maybe i should shut down the fan club, because i dont want anyone to think im screwing them and i cant keep the "bottom feeders" from joining it, YET! I try to think of better ways to do things all the time, especially for the fans, but my main focus is always my son and then writing good songs, without those two things, nothing is happening. I will keep my mind spinning trying to figure out a better way to get good tickets to my true fans, and it brings to mind a new song on the new cd "the least that i can do is care" unfortunatley thats not gonna be enuff in this case. trust me im on top of this and doing what i can. thx

Today was the first time in my life (I'm 42 yrs old) that I have ever stood in line to purchase tickets. I was SHOCKED to see that 80% of the people who were there were all partnered together to purchase tickets! Once we drew numbers, received our wristbands and got in line, the "leaders" of the group pulled out their bank issued money bags and started to distribute cash to the people in their group.....WTF!!! This is completely wrong, disguisting and it honestly pisses me off! I went to purchase tickets for my husband who will be returning home soon from his deployment as a gift to him - I will NOT be re-selling these tickets - we will actually be attending the concert and it infurates me that I have to compete for the "good seats" with dishonest people. I truly wish there was a way to regulate this!

We are going your concert Monday night in Peoria, llinois. Had front row seats, we had gotten these on EBay. Just found out yesterday that the guy isnt sending them to us. He did refund our money, but still my husband and I were looking forward to see in from the front row!! We were able to gets seats but just not the same. So I guess, we learned a lesson! Some people! Vickie!

This is the reason that I am addicted to you and your music. You are so real and have so much soul! I think that anyone who truly listens to your music and feels who you are would not blame you at all! I hope that you do not shut down the fan club, because I truly enjoy the updates! I would love to have a beer and a funny cigarette with you someday! Can't wait to see you in KC next month and I am hoping to get down to Grand Prairie, TX too!

The system for buying concert tickets is completely flawed. That's the underlying problem that no one is talking about. When big ticket brokers are allowed to snatch up hundreds and thousands of tickets before the common schmo even has a chance it opens the doors for ass holes to scam the honest people who can't afford 4 times face value for a rock concert. Bob, if you read any of this I've got some thoughts brother. You said in your blog that if anyone has ideas to let you know. Well, you've now got the clout and the wherewithal to implement some new ideas so give me an ear and I'll give you some ideas. Pearl Jam flipped off Ticketmaster, you certainly could too. I do actually know how the machine works and I do understand that it is show-BUSINESS but there is plenty of abuse that, with some pretty serious effort, could be thwarted. We all know that the last thing you want at your concerts is for a bunch of hard working fans to be left out in the cold or get ripped off by jack-asses using and exploiting your name. I got ripped off because I couldn't get tix when they went on sale and even at that so many times you can purchase tickets in the first minute of the sale and still end up at the top of the venue. I also couldn't afford the three and four times face value tix that places like stub hub were charge so where does that leave me? I sat outside the box office waiting for some releases but that didn't happen and then the ass hole from Craigslist came through with acceptable pricing for last minute absolutely fantastic counterfeit tickets. My party got left at the gate wondering what the hell went wrong. So there it is, a long time ago you could camp out all night in front of Coba or even a Hudsons/Ticketmaster and have a great shot at awesome tickets, thanks to the corporate world of today that's just no longer possible and good fans lose. I heard it was a great show. Would've loved to have been there. Still had a great time in the D though.

Hey Bob....First off, us people with brains know you are doing your best to help the fans and the hard working people of Detroit. Don't think for one second that this overlooked or not appreciated. You have gone above and beyond what is expected from anyone. SO thank you!! Second, I think what you should do is follow the lead of AC/DC on their tour a year or two ago. They had fans pay by credit card and you needed to show that credit card to get into the concert. There were no tickets. That way the scalpers were left high and dry. Anyhow, keep up the good fight and welcome to the 4-0 club ....I hit that milestone a couple years ago. Nothing changed...still have problems and nonsense..but what the hell take the good with the bad and just have fun!

There have never been, nor will there ever be $20 Kid Rock Tickets ... and KR, if you're so upset that they're charging these prices, then the only way you can stop it is to host FREE concerts. You're a multi-million dollar recording artist. Do some shit for free if you really feel that strongly about it. You no talent DOUCHEBAG, who admittedly did not attend college and barely made it through HS should be HONORED that there are morons out there buying your tickets. Whether they're spending $20 or $20,000 to see your sorry ass ... you still fill your venues. I can't wait for the day when you're BEGGING people to buy your tickets.

Been trying to get tickets through craigslist etc. for the past few days. On Monday you couldn't find much under $150 today around $125, but I'm guessing I'll find some seats tomorrow for $100 or under. But the reason I'm posting... here's a link to (a screen capture of) an ad on craigslist from some out of state broker asking $150 for 300 level seats (originally $20 a piece in a six ticket package) on craigslist. It looks like they're out of Vegas, and there's a name and a phone number. I'd say if you want to confront somebody this is as good a candidate as any. http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/8818/55585056.jpg

I totally respect what you're saying. My husband & I have followed you since you were on the cover of The Metro Times when you were 18. We've seen you more times than we can count. We have every disc, even the music you sold at your local shows. Jimmy Bones plays with our cousin Mitchel (when he can). We bought Ford Field tix didn't know we were paying over $100 a ticket (presale) for general addmission with no chair or spot for our coats, purse, or things we purchase at your show. I'm handicapped & can't stand for hours on end, not to mention having no personal space for protection. So I have to decide do i go to your show & spend a 3 to 5 days in bed in severe pain from standing, or should I stay home put in all your disc's & smoke some medicinal? BTW this was the only xmas gift my husband & I exchanged this year, we are broke because he's a Detroit Public School teacher. So I think over $100 to stand for 5 or 6 hours in the back is pretty crappy. Without seats I guess you can cram in more people. I apologize for ranting but i'm so dissapointed about the seating or shall I say lack of seating. Peace, Victoria

I am one of the fans that communicated with the Kid Rock Crew about all the tickets that landed with Ticket Brokers within hours of the initial pre-sale for the birthday bash. A plug for the crew: they were awesome - thank you!! I was blown away by the professionalism and kindness - I imagine this is a trickle-down effect from the top: way to go Bob for taking care of your employees! I did not see this post from Bob until a couple of days ago - over a month since my emails with the crew. Now I'm even more impressed by the "behind the scenes" communication that evidently occurred. To know now that the crew let Bob know about what his fans' concerns were and then for Bob to personally respond - I think my crush on him just tripled :) I have thought about the ticketing issue non-stop and hope I'm smart enough to solve it. But for now, thanks for offering so many chances to get VIP packages and regular tickets to those of us who are TRUE fans. Also, in the meantime while scalpers and brokers remain an issue I agree with Bob that the fans CAN HELP put the hurt on broker/scalper sales: simply don't buy those tickets until the last minute when they will be willing to dump them for face value.

Thanks for actually posting YOUR feelings and not having them editted. It shows how considerate and loyal you are to your fans. I've been trying for the past 3 years to get tickets to see you but have failed everytime. Im not blaming anyone but myself for that. Its just very hard for me to stay on top of things lately b/c Im a mother of 2 boys ( ages 10 & 7 ) and I work full time for 9 doctors. As far as the scalpers, I've honestly been thinking about paying between $150-$250 just to get front row tickets to see you in either Charleston or Greenville, SC. ( I only live an hr from Charleston ). I REALLY wanted to go on the Carnival cruise but somethin seems fishy about having to pay $200 just to "reserve" a cabin and thats not even a guarantee that I'll get on the cruise. Oh well, money seems to always be involved in everything these days. ( I know you cant control that ) I think Im going to buy those tickets even though I know Im getting screwed over b/c at least I'll be able to FINALLY see you in concert! I tried last year and again this year to get on the cruise but it sells out w/in 30 minutes of announcing it! Oh well, I hopefully get to see ya one day before I die! lol :)

I live in Livonia, MI and saw you this past summer at DTE for the first time. I was hooked. I decided I really wanted to see you again for your birthday concert and take my daughter. I was fortunate enough to purchase two tickets in Section 112, Row 41 and was willing to spend a little more than I could afford because I wanted to see you again and it is YOUR birthday concert. I received those tickets today and noticed on the tickets that they are actually $49.50 each. I paid $415.75 for these two tickets and was so upset when I saw what the seats ACTUALLY cost. I know it will be a great concert and we are excited to see you, but the greed that happened here is disgusting!!

Just reserve the closest 200 seats to the stage for your fans and have a contest on your site for each show on the tour:) Winners of the contest get to buy the good seats.. Problem solved..happy!! The rest of the peeps will just have to go stand in line. (yeah right) us lowly fans cannot compete with scalpers. Clearly, they have inside connections with the ticket masters who have inside connections with the venues, If Bob wants to play at a large venue, the venue wants to control the tickets and the ticket masters want to control the sales, the sales give scalpers first priority. buying tickets in bulk probably helps. lol This has been going on forever. Ticket Master and the Venues have this market locked up. However, your web site can refuse to sell the tickets here. You can add a rider in your tour contract for the seats to be reserved, blah blah blah. okay maybe not 200 seats per show . o ooh ooh hire a scalper to get you the tickets to sell to your fans:) ok.. puff puff pass..

Caring really isn't the least you can do. It stands for alot. Don't forget what your wrote, "I can't change the world to make it fair." But, you have certainly motivated alot of people to step up and change their own space.

Bob, it is my hope that you will follow up on this and do whatever you can do to return some sanity to the concert world. Some friends of yours, Kenny Chesney and the Zac Brown Band just went on sale today with a show in Green Bay, WI. The tickets range in price from $31.00--$252.00 and the Ticketmaster service charges range from $6.05--$35.05. I applaud you for doing what you can to give the best show possible while keeping an eye on the ticket price. While you have no control over what other artists do, please understand the frustration of fans that have become fed up with the soaring cost of seeing a live show. While many seats do end up in the hands of brokers, it seems that everyone is trying to cash in these days and Ticketmaster is just as guilty as anyone. Maybe you could get together with Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam and do a tour where you play ONLY venues that are not Ticketmaster controlled. You could oversee the ticket distribution, cost, after-market, etc. It would be the greatest "F*** YOU" to Ticketmaster! While I applaud your attitude regarding ticket scalping and brokers, if you do nothing more than post a letter complaining about it, you are essentially saying that "while I don't like it, I'm not going to do anything about it." You will never have more clout than you have right now, you will never be in a better position to send a message to those who are taking advantage of you, and I hope that you will seize this opportunity to do something and come out with a statement that not only tells the concert world, "ENOUGH!" but addresses the problem with solutions and not just complaints. This is your time! Please don't drop the ball! THANK YOU BOB!!!

Well guess what happened for the show in Louisville at the YUM center? Seven days after the tickets go on sale, I hear on the radio that they decided to open up two more sections for the concert! I am like WTF? I purchased my tickets at presale from ticket master and my tickets are way way in the back (see my previous post). I look up the sections they open late yeah they are right next to the stage.. WHAT? Are you truly kidding me? How unfair is this? So, I call ticket master and vent to the lady a little on the phone. She switched my seats for me and now I am right bye the stage! OH yea! But this would not had happened had I not called! I am extremely happy and cannot wait for the show! Keep your stage right where it is supposed to be.. LOL I'm not selfish. hehe Section 104 here I come, so be ready!

Sometimes it's hard to really tell what's up. From your site it looks like Kansas City concert tix not on sale yet, but Sprint Center wants about $250 for floor tix, $99 for nosebleed seats. What the... but wait... nothing about the show through ticket master. Hmmm. $250? TBT is worth every penny and I'll find a way to pay for it gladly if that's what it takes. Just not really your m.o. (2009 it cost me $45 to be ten feet from Jason's toes).
danielman's picture

I know you aren't asking for free ones. I wasn't going to buy you some lol! But You might be able to do pretty well at stubhub but I want you to be vigilant on this! I want you to check those prices like you were checking for the next soap opera digest to come out! If that price drops I want you to have your credit card out and ready to spend! It's Kid fucking Rock not some washed up white trash redneck...ok maybe he is but how many times is a star like this going to come to Saginaw?? Get on that stubhub and start watching. Let us all know how you are faring!
iamblessed's picture

I am not asking for free tickets, I am willing to pay what I would have paid at the box office.
Michiganrockfan's picture

Daniel, it wasn't enough that others were cursing you, now you are cursing yourself and saving them the trouble! This just keeps getting better!
danielman's picture

Ok as I speak there are two tix available for the Saginaw show that correspond with the guidelines I told you. http://www.stubhub.com/kid-rock-tickets/kid-rock-saginaw-dow-event-center-1-21-2011-1023673/ These tickets will go fast I am telling you. I can see it now, "danielman you cocksucking motherfucker why the fuck won't you just give me some tickets so I can see this show you son of a bitch." I understand. These tickets are a pretty good option though. MI people love Kid Rock.
danielman's picture

If you are willing to travel I do have tix for some shows in your general area in my ebay store, but not Saginaw.
danielman's picture

I did not choose to purchase tickets in Saginaw. I usually stick to the very large markets which lets ticket prices in Saginaw stay a bit lower with more fans getting tickets. However I do have a deal for you. There is a seller on stubhub selling 2 tix for Saginaw for $80/ticket. I would suggest watching these. I don't see a reason to jump on them now. What I would do is wait until a pair go on sale for 10% LESS THAN THE NEXT HIGHEST TICKETS. Usually people get nervous with extra tickets especially as more shows open and the supply goes up. When you see two tickets on sale for 10% less than the next highest tickets, I want you to jump on those like a rat on a cheeto. You aren't going to get face value until maybe the day or two before but probably not for an act like Kid Rock. You will have to be very quick and lucky for that to happen. It is nothing personal. I want to help you with this but you are going to have to spend some extra money to get to this show now. danielman1@hmamail.com
iamblessed's picture

I cannot afford tickets to see Kid Rock in Saginaw MI, no matter how low he tries to keep tickets prices. So Danielman, you are a "self admitted" scalper, since you bought up a lot of tickets, as I've asked you before, would you be willing to sell me 4 tickets, but I cannot/willnot pay you more then their face value. Do you have an ounce of redeeming factor in you? You have read my posts, you know how terribly important this is to me.
